Micheal Holding regarded as the Rolls Royce of fast bowlers. I don’t believe I will see a more smoother run up and delivery in cricket again like Holding hence the name the whispering death. The umpires had serious problems figuring out if a bowler was approaching.
The point that's missing is that fast bowlers are most effective in groups. This is why the West Indies were so dominant for so long. The effectiveness diminishes when there's relief from the best/fastest/most difficult bowlers!
Holding produced the fastest bowling ever seen in England when he took 14 wickets for 149 runs. On a completely lifeless pitch,12 of his 14 victims were either clean bowled or trapped lbw. At the Oval, those wickets came at an average of just 10.64. When he bowled flat out,no one in Test Cricket history was faster. No one!
This is a list of best pace bowlers and not most feared. Shoaib must be in the top five or three. Patrick Patterson was most feared of all the West Indies bowlers.
Thommo was the most dominant fast bowler as measured by how he completely ripped England apart in 1974/5 and the Windies a year later. No one bowler has been more destructive tgan Thommo. Thommo, Marshall and Holding are my 3 quicks with Warne the spinner in a World XI
@rogerhinds6583 Thommo did it basically single handedly against the English. Lillee never took more than 2 wickets per innings in the furst four tests. Ambrose did not single handedly do that in any series. Thommo did. Thommo won that series in Australia's first bowling session. Again, no other bowler has done that. My defined point still stands.
Jimmy Anderson got more than twice as many test wickets as many on your list, far more than any other bowler, and more than ANY other bowler apart from Murali. How couldyou forget him? And in contrast to many other bowlers (Thomson and several Pakistanis cpome to mind) he was a hell of a nice chap.
How is Sir Richard Hadlie not on this list? With 431 test wickets and the best aveverage the wold had ever seen at that point. He is considered the greatest fast bowler of all time and he didnt even make your list!!!
Alan Davidson is clearly the greatest fast bowler Australia has produced. McGrath? Donald?Anderson? Most feared fast bowler? Clearly, Jeff Thomson. Best fast bowler is a toss up, probably an argument between Marshall/Akram/Davidson. Then we need to look at bowlers BEFORE 1950. This is not a great list.
Each one’s order is subjective but this one is laughable. Marshall, Ambrose, Akram, Steyn, Garner, Roberts, Hadlee, Waqar, Lillee, Imran, Holding, Walsh, Thomson, Bumrah, Bond.
There is no such things as the Most Fearsome Fast Bowlers of All Time. Every era has it's own extraordinary bowlers/ batsmen. This list will look different when someone else compiles it. It will also look different 20 years from now. So, this is just nonsense. It's your OWN favourites.
I remember a test series in the 70's between England and Southe Africa. A 55 minutes of aggressive bowling to Michael Arherton was one of the most aggressive bowling I've ever witnessed. Hit him numerous times but Donald kept at him. Best grab of test cricket I've ever watched. Stay was also quick.
This fast bowler list is madness😂😅😂😅😂. Go do your homework, bro. There's no fast bowler list like this without the legendary Glen McGrath. I Courtly Ambrose or GlenMcGrath, first or second either way.
McGrath should be in the top 5, Ambrose is no1 just because of the look he gives the batsmen that strikes the fear of God in them. You know they in serious trouble.
Micheal Holding regarded as the Rolls Royce of fast bowlers. I don’t believe I will see a more smoother run up and delivery in cricket again like Holding hence the name the whispering death. The umpires had serious problems figuring out if a bowler was approaching.
It is right and fair to place Holding at no.1. He is the only fast bowler in history to force a team to capitulate.
Only 178 Test Match wickets for Akhtar! That's very surprising.
The point that's missing is that fast bowlers are most effective in groups. This is why the West Indies were so dominant for so long. The effectiveness diminishes when there's relief from the best/fastest/most difficult bowlers!
Richard Hadlee,Imran Khan, Kapil Dev,Botham are missing
Yes MR Holding is the only pace bowler the entire team surrender

Patterson was arguably the fastest, although Holding will jostle him for that position. But the most feared pace bowler was undoubtedly Roy Gilchrist.
Patrick “Raga” Patterson is the fastest test and most feared blower
@@ExcitedManatee-kz4fn Andy Robert’s hated batsmen.

Except Mitchell Johnson and Curtly.
@@andrewmaroc113 as above.
Ambrose and Mitchell never did what Thommo did.
Over all a terrific job

how can you avoide Donald and magrath both greatest bowler
I agree. At least Glen McGrath should be included.
Curtly Ambrose the GOAT
Good list
Lillee, Thomson, Pascoe, b. Lee,
Richard Hadlee - New Zealand?
When they got to number one, I said it has to be Holding or Hadlee. IMHO both Holding and Hadlee belong in the top 15.
Well done
Jeff Thompson #1 by a mile, if you're talking fear of getting killed, not fear of getting out.
Jeff Thompson was pretty damn fast and feared, but Roy Gilchrist was lightning fast, nasty and deadly. No one comes close.
Marshall was consistently the fastest. He had line and length and consistently swung the ball like no other, and, let me remind you, at great pace.
Poor and erratic ranking. Marshal and Andy Robberts were top 2 .
Most FEARSOME is the title of the video. Hence, Holding and Ambrose are 1 and 2.
@papg4ever Fearsome !! Nobody can overtake Marshall . Greatest ever fast bowler. Most fearsome .
Based on stats Walsh should be higher on the list
No Trueman, Snow, Larwood, Donald, and Wes Hall!
How is Sir Richard Hadlie not on this list? With 431 test wickets and the best aveverage the wold had ever seen at that point. He is considered the greatest fast bowler of all time and he didnt even make your list!!!
Jaspreet Bumrah from India not included!
Courtly Ambrose tbe most lethal
Perhaps you've never watched Michael Holding.
@papg4ever still curtly ambrose most devastating .....his glare at you make u afraid to face him
Alan Davidson is clearly the greatest fast bowler Australia has produced. McGrath? Donald?Anderson?

How can you keep waqar. at ১৩ he should be in the top ৩
Fearsome doesnt mean the best. Sylvester Clarke , Patrick Patterson and Wayne Daniel were more fearsome than most of those named
Crap Jeff Thompson is easily the fastest and most fearsome The method of measuring speed has changed
Where is McGrath and Donald.
Cant make it
They use the ball to brutalize the bats man
Each one’s order is subjective but this one is laughable.
Marshall, Ambrose, Akram, Steyn, Garner, Roberts, Hadlee, Waqar, Lillee, Imran, Holding, Walsh, Thomson, Bumrah, Bond.
I think i would rather face courtney walsh than shaun tait.. 😂 rubbish list
Ya right 😂😂😂😂 who ever bowled to u , you would get a golden duck🤣🤣🤣
2
Most fearsome ? Why Charlie Griffith - one half of the great West Indies fast bowling duo of Hall and Griffith
Waiting on batsman
Marshall should be number 1.Missing are Trueman,Hadlee,Lindwall and Imran.
Where was Glane Maugrath !

Wes Hall w Hall w indies
They want to kill 7s8ng the ball
Glen Magath not in your list, who is concidered the greatest! You were asleep when you compile this list
Where
Imran Khan?

Lie thompson never bowl 160 135
Your comment show you don't know what your talking about Thompson bowled over 160kph was timed at over 85mph
