You two are adorable and I LOVE this project! I just bought a home and am collecting ideas for doing a greenhouse. This one definitely goes at the top of the ideas folder!
This was such a fun video. I had to chuckle and your antics but the brown pit tie gets the oscar.. laying down and panting near the end of your first day and then right away on laying down to watch the second day. Fun fun fun
I’m just seeing this video, 2 years later. My wife and I were just talking about building a green house like this. We would have a slope to handle snow. If you haven’t already tried them, try the GRK screws, they are self tapping T25 and T30. Fantastic

Sam Off The Beach i will!!! My house is currently the overrun with seedlings so I could really use a greenhouse in my life! The boys are currently building me a chicken coop and run and are using recycled materials for it. Meanwhile I am digging a memory garden for my Mother. I think they should dig for me lol! This is awesome! I have a bunch of windows just sitting around. I think the only difference I would do is slant one side facing south and insulate the north side. Yours looks great though!!
Dude - the dancing in fast motion was the BEST part! How many windows are hinged? I saw only two opened - does that let enough air in to keep things cool in the summer time.
chris moody tile ur messaged cracked me up when i saw the word “Dude”. In my head I drug the word out like duuuuuuuuude but thanks for the compliment. I guess ur building one next?
I was searching greenhouse builds using vintage windows and found your build. I have to say it is one of the most simple and yet outstanding looking ones I've seen done, congratulations! I subscribed and now gonna check out other vids to see if you did an up date, I hope you have because I'd love to see how it has progressed over nearly 3 years now since you posted this video. I'm in northwest Florida USDA zone 8b, you said you guys live in Atlanta so y'all are a little colder climate than my homestead.
Thank you, we were just trying to build this the best way we thought. I she loves it to this day and it still stands after many storms here in the Atlanta area.
It's nice that you work so well together. Where did you get the windows for your project? I'm inspired by your design and would like to try building one.
Bantoo well first of all, thank u for the compliment! 20 years of marriage. Okay so we looked on Craigslist and got some for free and I mean the really nice that you saw go up first. The others also on Craigslist and bought them for $5 each. The 3 doors we got free from family. If you see someone changing out their windows they may have some for free. She started collecting them 6 months out bbecause we didn’t want to It them. If you buy them u can probably have them all in a week. Hope that helps.
This looks great. I'd like to build one myself on my allotment. How did you prepare the base, did you cement the corner posts into the ground then attach the base wood to each post? Also, are the window frames made of wood and if so do you just drill the wooden window frames into main structure?
I love your green house, fantastic job you did building it!!! Can you tell me what thickness you use on the roof. Clear corrugated fiberglass? And how is it holding up now? I would appreciate any tips you can give me, thanks so much!
thank you and I'm not sure the thickness, we just grabbed whatever lowes or home depot had and used it. We also did a shed build and used the same roofing material. They both are folding up great. No leaks and we have had the green house up through some rough weather here in GA
How's the pressure treated wood holding up with the ground contact two years later? I imagine it is still structurally ok, but am concerned about the design as more time passes...@@Samthesender
@@mikef7306 no issue I've seen and non reported to me by wifey. I'll have to go out and inspect but shes pretty handy herself and would have told me if she had seen anything.
Great job! Where did you find all your windows? I was just talking to my husband about doing this and have not started collecting mine yet! I love the way the one side has all the same windows!
it's really good. She has a hard time planting stuff because she decided to go back to school for nursing but she still picks her strawberries out of there. I need to do a 5 year video
All the windows have wood framing around them so we just made sure to drill as far away from where we thought the glass might be. Thanks you hope that helps

@@Samthesender Awesome! I appreciate the tip! I kind of wish we would've started collecting windows over the winter so we could make use of all of this extra time at home right now to build the greenhouse. Stay safe!
Susan Dyck it actually holds up very well. It’s in the wide open yard and we’ve had some hail and really strong winds over the year and it’s standing strong. No complaints. Worked so well that we build a shed (which is another video in the series) and put the same roof on it and tree branches have fallen on and pine straw with no problem. Small tree limbs that is.
I live in Atlanta, I’ve been looking for a handyman to help me build this, can I hire you guys to build a greenhouse for me or at least advise me? I have the windows already.
