Allium, especially the large ones self seed and while I planted them almost 30 years ago and the whole neighbourhood has drifts now, plant them where the benefit from a prevailing wind and soon you will have lots. The green house is a lovely bolt hole and puttering about in it will be lovely. And yes thats a Murder of crows, the woodpecker is a mature downey, and I think a bird book would be an excellent gift this christmas.

Thank you! That's good to know re: the alliums. I definitely plan to leave the seed heads alone, so will keep my fingers crossed for seedlings! And thank you for identifying the downy woodpecker. I've moved here from about two hours north - far enough for spotting a few unfamiliar species. (Not to mention the dramatically different soil conditions!)

You could scatter the seeds when dry where you want more, or gift them to some of your favorite fellow gardeners!

Your green house is STUNNING!!!! I LOVE the black outside, and the natural wood inside looks great. I am an avid gardener and though your garden is wild and in progress, my first thought goes to... Oh, how I'd love to work in there. With everything you improve, you're going to see instant satisfaction. Bravo to you and your husband for taking on this huge project.

I would love to have a greenhouse like you have. On my dream wish list. Maybe someday! Why doesn't anyone give me free pots? Although a lady did give us cattle nutrition containers that were used up and after washing them and drilling holes in the bottom they make great containers. Good luck with your greenhouse [it is so beautiful], and happy holidays!

Thank you so much! Cattle feed containers sound like they will make great planters. Happy holidays to you, too!

Love your green house and the black exterior. Its on my wish list to have one made out of recycled windows too. Be sure you protect your tulips perhaps with chicken wire so so that visiting squirrel doesn’t dig them up. I found that out the hard way! The stuff you have blooming looks great and I look forward to watching what you do in your yard. How exciting it must be to unearth the treasures you find and to reuse them. Enjoy the journey!

Thank you so much! Ah yes, the squirrel! I've been experimenting with different methods for protecting the tulips - most of which do involve chicken wire. It really has been exciting finding so many random things in the yard. Every day I spend clearing it is like a treasure hunt. Thanks for watching!

@@citygardensurprise Oh WOW! Yes my goodness we are so far apart but both in close proximity to coastal areas. I live about 60 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. I noticed on the new 2023 USDA hardiness zones that I am on borderline of being 9a now instead of 8b. Happy Holidays and Happy Gardening!
