Very nice! I have collected a lot of Windows and French doors for this purpose as well. However, I was planning on framing in some of the old windows to use on the roof instead of the corrugated clear plastic roofing. I am curious if you considered using old windows as the roof or if there was a reason why you preferred not to?
I did consider it. The reasons I chose not too were basically related to shedding water and waterproofing. The windows are framed and therefore if used on roof would “puddle” water around frames leading to wood rot. Also not easy to waterproof it properly between various windows. Also the weight of windows is significant for working with them. Have seen others do it though so up to you. These were just my reasons

We just finished our Greenhouse. Kinda went down the same path with the recycled doors and windows. But we ended up building a base (pretty much a deck) and built the greenhouse on top of it. I kinda like that yours is on the ground. But that snake you showed is the exact reason we opted for a deck base. We now have marine plywood on top of the deck. We plan to paint the plywood white so snakes and such are more visible. Also I wish I would have painted mine before we put the roof panels on. We didn't. And now it will be a pain. You can see on my videos, a lot of the wood is still unpainted. I'd be afraid to use the sprayer like you did... Very nice job.
Yeah I wouldn't use a sprayer with the panels up. I found painting to be the most annoying part of the process actually, even with using a sprayer. Not the hardest part but the most tedious and not fun. Watched your videos. The deck looks great and structure looks nice and solid. Great job!
I've collected all my windows and doors from various places and have them under a tarp. I did end up with mostly double paned heavy duty doors that were meant for an outdoor screened in porch. I will be tackling the job myself and maybe get someone to finish the roof since my fear of heights will take over. Many of the windows can open because they are fully functioning windows meant for a house. I plan to use those to open for cross ventelation and want to use the greenhouse in the summer. I will be placing a shade cloth over the roof in the summer just to keep the heat down.
Great build. I'm planning to use Aluminum framed sliding doors mainly and other similar framed windows. I'm thinking will last longer in the more humid environment and living just up the hill from a river valley. Thinking using steel as well to keep a more portable design and also using pin footing like Diamond or Handi-piers.
Sounds good. I like the idea of maximizing use of metal. I considered but chose not to use piers because we wanted to keep wood off the ground but didn’t want an elevated floor with a “crawl space” underneath because we have a lot of rattlesnakes.
This is so excellent!! Thank you for sharing - I’m half way through mine and dreading the painting part… love the spray-paint approach, how did you remove it from the windows afterwards? 😊
We applied a peel off "masking liquid" before spraying the paint. Here is a nice review and explanation: dengarden.com/home-improvement/My-Review-of-Masking-Liquid-H20-for-Painting-Window-Trim
I love everything about! We've already collected all our old windows and are about to start. Was there any consideration given to adding collar ties to the roof rafters or a ridge board support in the center of each gable? I'm thinking I'll have to do that since we have wind and snow loads.
I as going to use Simpson Hurricane straps on rafters but went with Timberlock lag screws which are hurricane code compliant - will send you a link. I also through-bolted the foot plate to the concrete with expansion anchors. I did reinforce support on the gable rafters with support in middle of each gable rafter. We needed 0.4 cu yards of concrete. I rented a readymix U Cart of 1 yard concrete. Think it was about $140. Was so much easier than mixing bags. I did reinforced with a simple rebar inside
It works well and has held up extremely well. It does seem to hold the heat in well. No I would not do glass next time, much harder to work with and many greenhouses use the corrugated material.
Sorry I didn’t show it. I anchored the baseplate to the footing with 5/16 in galvanized expansion anchor bolts. Some use the the large Tapcons but I prefer expansion anchors
Thanks so much for posting this! Wonderful greenhouse and the video is good. I future videos, thought could you leave out the music? I can hardly make out your voice. I have to concentrate pretty hard.
Just getting started is the hardest part. Lots of detailed UA-cam videos on building simple sheds helps with the fine details of how to do things. Good luck!
No, intended more to give ideas and inspire. There are lots of how-to videos for building sheds and small buildings as well as how to install windows, doors, and roofs which you might find useful.
Incredibly beautiful. Love the interior with a recycled hutch and the sink.
Well done and you recycled the windows and doors. Gotta love that😊❤
Thanks so much!
One of the sharpest greenhouses I have seen on here! Great job!!
Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant! Loved the eco-recycling. You created a beautiful and practical greenhouse.
beautiful greenhouse and deer

Great video thank you sharing. Could you point me towards instructions on how to install the polycarbonate roofing? I’m having a hard time.

Green tape is better than blue tape for painting FYI.
Great result, well done! I am planning to do something similar with some old double glazed panels I have from renovating.

Sounds great! That's what we did with opening windows for cross ventilation. Best of luck on your build.
We are thinking of using the old windows out of our house to build one! I love the idea of the doors so creative. Great job!!
Thank you!
Wow....the Admiral must be pleased ❤
She definitely is!
Great job!
Gorgeous! ❤
this is soooo pretty great work enjoy
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful!
Awesome job man! I love seeing the repurposing of old windows and doors. Looking forward to seeing your next project👍🏻
I have to tell you - this is one of the best I have seen. Nice job! I thought you were leaving the floor dirt for drainage?
Thank you!
So cute! I want one
that is beautiful and well done !!!!
Thanks!
That is absolutely lovely.
Thank you!

Love it!! What are the arches/trellises behind in the garden?
Thanks! Do a search for “old trampoline garden trellis” then start searching for people on Craigslist giving away old trampolines!!
I love it!!!!!❤. It’s beautiful !
Thanks !

such an awesome idea, to bad if i did this , it would like a Picasso
Wow! Love it!
Love this!!! ❤
Nice king snake too, you are lucky to have it!
The one in the video is actually a Northern Pacific Rattlesnake. But we do have King Snakes around and love them.
Very nice, great job

@@skydiverninetysix Sensible, thanks!!
Beautiful
Thank you
Nice video; what did you use for the concrete foundation wall? Just bags of quikrete?

How are you liking the corrugated roof material? Does it hold heat in or would you use glass next time?

No tie down bolts?

Good, super nice!!!
Wow impressive…
Also, it looks like you decided to go with large tile floor rather than dirt? Looks great!
Actually it’s pavers with sand in between, so still drains pretty well

@@skydiverninetysix I was wondering. Noticed the same.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment. I messed up the audio and UA-cam doesn’t let you replace a video.
Love how it turned out! What did you actually end up doing for the flooring?
Pavers. So they still slow to drain
I just love that. I have doors and windows too but I don't think my husband feels he can doit. Hopefully I can change his mind😉

IT WAS NICER WITH THE END THE OTHER WAY
Great info, however, music is too loud and distracting.

Music nice but to loud. Can’t really hear you talking.
Thanks for comment Toni. I agree. I’ve updated my education of music and UA-cam’s loudness setting requirements and will fix in future.
Remove the music, please
Yes sir! Will do!!!!
