You may not realize this, GIV, but what you do is literally the purest form of journalism. No opinions, just “look at this” what info you’ve uncovered on the ground. Thanks for your awesome channel from Texas!

True fact, plus Venice residents getting they're city back.
I feel for these people. What small item's they have are taken away and ripped out from underneath their feet. I was and still am 1 paycheck away from this.
GIV's videos have a narrative which he's supports the hardcore version of homelessness clean up
So True, good comment
This issue needed to be addressed years ago, it is just so much more complex than what meets the eye. Good video, Mike!
It wasn’t this bad years ago. It’s been in the last 5 years based on other states sending people to California and people hitchhiking to California
If they weren't so messy with the garbage. They may have more sympathy. Since they have no job being clean could be done.
@@Jeaniesunshine-fb5rk agree... Especially the poop and pee... And taking over sidewalks pushing folks and customers of business away.. They became their own worst enemy.
Expensive pets.

These homeless folks have more belongings than I have in my own apartment.
They don't pay rent so, they can buy more belongings.
@@senseofstile - or just dumpster dive for more.
I remember the guy on the boardwalk that Mike interviewed in Venice and the dude had a kitchen sink, and three or four couches. Just crazy
They arent buying anything. They are thieves and the government allows it.
@David Merlot Stealing also requires effort. Instead of using all that effort to steal, maybe getting jobs would have a better outcome.
Time for you to downsize
Absolutely disgusting and shameful on the mayor and city councils that it was EVER allowed to get anywhere near this insanity
It’s called being a democrat. They don’t care. They don’t know how to lead. Make proper decisions.
If you look at GIV's videos serially it's a pretty incredible documentary.
Yes, it was a pleasant surprise to see how knowledgeable this man is about Hollywood, Venice area etc.
@@mr.finkle4677 Agreed. He knows the turf. Nice to get a local's point of view.
@Nothing But the Truth It's a lot of time and a lot of work. Why shouldn't he be compensated for his time? He did it for a long time making no money and an even longer time making very little to no money. It takes a lot of views and subscribers to make any money at all on YT. As far as him exploiting the problem I don't recall him ever being disrespectful to anyone. Just the opposite. Many times he has given the homeless a voice to tell their story.
@@Thunderbyrd. Yea but you know how the youtube algorithm works, most of the comments here express no empathy for our fellow Americans, including many who served in the armed forces, and those comments drive more views. I'd like to think the majority of engagement is by those who truly wish to approach the problem at hand, but I get the impression that people just like looking down on others less fortunate. I hope I'm wrong. I agree he does give homeless a voice to tell their story, but the argument of exploitation of homeless to make money is also a fair one. Regardless I love GIV, just sucks that people like watching plight much more than happiness (according to view count).
No doubt.
That camp had a nice Yeti cooler. I've worked 60-80 hour weeks for 30 years and I can only afford the off brand. Good video German!
Well if you want a yeti, roam your neighborhood at nite and pilfer one just like he did.
You can also obtain a bike the same way. Police will do nothing if you are caught, really they won't
Thank you garcon
5 finger discount
But you can afford taxes and rent. It's always trade offs.
When you finally get a Yeti, of of these fuckers will come and steal it just like the one in the video...
Props to the sanitation workers.
My heart goes out to those folks who have to clean up that filthy, infested mess.
There are no signs that say "no murder zone" either but we're all expected to not murder anyone. Same thing applies here. It's a common sense law. This isn't the frontier where you can claim land in the middle of the city.

The americas weren't frontier when whites came here. These lands were settled thousands of years ago by natives! Calling it frontier is very colonized minded of you.

Creek Indians "stole the land" from the Choctaws and Chickasaws. Comanches came in and "stole the land" from the Apaches. Aztecs, Incas and Mayans "stole THEIR land" by genociding other tribes. The Tainos and Canib tribes butchered each other like MS-13 over land. Thank you for showing this. I feel for the people displaced but I hope they accept the help being offered
In my opinion, GiV is really saying that homelessness is a major problem for Venice, Los Angeles, California, and the rest of the USA.
He legally came to the USA to improve his lot in life over 30 years ago and never thought that this was his calling in life. Thank you, Mike (GiV) for your opinions in this video format, they're excellent.
Legality😂 in an white illegal occupation of Native lands. Then you call native from the south illegal. 🤨🤦♀️
Oh gawd shut up already!
@Don Juan Do you morons get that if europeans didnt come here the japanese or chinese would have? The russians were already here in fact... Yeah, someone else would have come and set up shop, why? AMERICAN NATIVES were doing NOTHING but living in bushes. Didnt even have metals. No steel or iron. No horse. No wheel even. I have been homeless. All I cared about was getting high or getting drunk.
It takes a lot to pull yourself out of darkness. Some unfortunately can't.
I'm glad they are cleaning up your beautiful area. I've seen how badly it has been affecting business, through your videos.
Keep up the great work, man.
Me too, I've been homeless so many times.. Got a crappy job, it was paying work, was able to find a crappy place to live. After that, my living situations improved. There's always some place to rent. It might not have been the greatest but it was a roof over my head. I rented a room in the basement of a house on a hill which was good because that was on the first floor. Three of the walls were made of field stone. It was freezing. The house foundation made of giant rocks was right next to my bed. It came with a double hot plate and little refrigerator. I never had to leave the bed to make breakfast.
I just feel sad for the animals they deserve better !!!😭😭😭
When I was a kid we went camping , but we never brought our oak bookcase .
I guess you were lucky then !
Good Friday morning to you Mike. Thanks for the great video and have a great weekend.
Thank goodness these public sidewalks are being cleaned and disenfected from filth. People can actually walk through these public sidewalks as they were designed for and paid by city taxpayers
You’re paying either way. Might as well kill them yourself if you don’t want the homeless to live.
@HahThatsWhatSheSaid so what should we do with our tax dollars? Shuffle them around from sidewalk to sidewalk? Lock them up? The only way to solve this is to help them.

That is all special election in Cali, if they don't put Newsome in the dumpster. The homeless will all be given new tents and told to go back to stealing from the poor folks that work for a living.
Did you ever wonder why every homeless person in California has at least 2 or 3 brand new , decent quality tents? These are not top of the line, but they are not the cheapest either. Let's not pretend they're filling out job applications in their tents because they're not. They're running amuck and acting like bad people while driving society off a cliff and should rightfully be called out for it.
But in these cases here, they're all drug addicts and loony toons, fuck them
That's why everyone needs to live below their means and save some money for emergencies because everyone has unexpected things pop up in life.
Most if not all drug addicts wish they weren't addicts. Most often the drugs are bigger than themselves. After several failed attempts to get off of the drugs I can understand where some people might give up and give in to accepting that the drugs have won and nothing they can do will change it.
@@EsotericOccultist you realize you’re at the bottom of the pool when you’re homeless right? No car, no meeting address, etc. You’re seen as more of a risk as an employee.

How does any government in a civilized society allow something like this to metastasize and get to such a point? This should have been stopped when the first tent went up.
Run away capitalism, plain and simple.
Greed which lead to being classist which in turn has created a caste system.
