I did a late night shopping tour at the local grocery store Globus I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked around I was the only person in the store for a while I had to do a video I felt like Michael Jackson, renting a grocery store for himself. Afterwords, I drove my car through Krefeld to see what was going on at night

Just got back from a three year tour in Germany. We LOVED it! Globus was the best super market in town! Never went at 10:00 at night but I remember so many of these brands and variety I miss it so much. Thanks for posting this for us Americans that loved living in Germany.

I love the song "Our House" it reminds me of growing up at my house in the 80's. The verse "Our mum, she's so house proud
    Nothing ever slows her down
And a mess is not allowed" describes my now deceased mother perfectly, especially in her younger years.

We flew through Frankfurt airport about a month ago and had an overnight layover and so we hung out in the A concourse at gates A22and A24. But we were shocked to see so many mice running around in the gate sitting area. Are you aware of the mice problem and is anything being done about it?

Hey! It's nice to hear that an American is coming to Germany and building a life here. I have a girlfriend in the US and I'm very interested to hear what exactly led to you leaving your country, what the transition was or was like for you and how you are currently doing in terms of learning the language, connecting with the locals and your daily life compared to your life you had in The States. Greetings! :))

I had extensive shoulder surgery in 2015 when I was 59. Shortly after while I was rehabilitating, with my arm in a sling attached to my waist, I pushed my 83 year old mom in a wheelchair through the entire local zoo. I'm sure that we were a sight to see.😊
Mom at 91 is in hospice now in a local nursing home.

    Hallo!!!
I'm a Berliner living in Indiana. I moved to America in 1972. Probably before you all were born...lol I miss the old Berlin. My street were Ma & Pa shops. The big shopping centers were starting to move in at the time. The last time i was in Berlin was when my mother past away in 1988. I remember in the smaller grocery stores, i wasn't allowed to touch any fruit & vegetables. It was very different from the US. I also noticed back then, that the store had very few canned foods. Germans cooked everything fresh. My mother did because she cooked for a living. I miss German food very much. Well, America is not what it used to be either. People starting to struggle with high food prices.
Thanks for the tour though a German store.

    🍎GIV, beautiful sunny day!
Watched your laundry day video. Love the way you offered to help the lady push the heavy cart into the laundry mat to do her laundry. That was so very kind of you to offer such a nice gesture on UA-cam! You didn't hesitate, wow! Most of all, now that you went shopping for shirts and vests in Germany, you were so caring and considerate to buy your mom a beautiful pink tshirt as well or a box of chocolate or better yet tasty cookies of Germany. Wow! Just imagine how much she can see and realize how kind hearted and generous her son is to show his viewers. After all, it shows your viewers you're not a cheap person, but caring, loving and considerate, not to mention what a gentleman would do.
Cheers to you and your family and friends!🌴🇺🇲 🇩🇪

I don't mind watching you do your supermarket shopping because as a women that used to love grocery shopping and now have to rely on my 19yr old son's dad's and my son obviously to do all the shopping as l was disabled in a car accident in 2001 but have sadly got worse where walking is too difficult now. Maybe I should get my son to film their trips to the supermarket so I can watch then maybe they wouldn't come back with over priced items that I didn't put on the list. Gave me a great idea GiV, thank you hope your enjoying your time with your wonderful mum.

Spending time in the basement as I see the GiV doing is much like it was for me growing up in NYC. Many people in NYC finish out the basement for..., like that 70's show. Today I think they refer to it as man caves. Interesting to see a finish basement with a bar in it, cheers 🍺 🍻 🥃 🍸 🍾 🍹🥂 🤗

What a nice supermarket. The prices seem reasonable for the most part, too. I completely understand re: parents' reluctance to use walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, etc. My late mom was somewhat vain and resisted using any sort of assisted device to walk. She had spondylosis, scolioisis, and her back constantly gave her pain. She developed a scissors-like gait, where she'd cross one foot in front the other when she walked. It was terrifying watching her sway and teeter as she'd make her way across a room. I finally had to get blunt with her: "What if you fall and break your hip? Then you'll really be in trouble!" We got her a really nice cherry red walker with a built-in seat; once she started using it, she realized how much easier it was to get around. Plus, she could put stuff on the seat and wheel it to where she was going, instead of having to carry it.

I'm sometimes shocked at how well behaved they are too! Example. One beautiful shot of the steps in front of a beautiful building next to a river and people were allowed to lounge around with open beers and enjoy the sunset. Contrast to America where we use "hostile architecture" to keep people / homeless off the steps of the Library in NY. German culture is doing better than American.

Christstollen already on display!! wow , we pack up our beach towels from summer and already can shop Xmas snacks
I've learned as soon as we hit past 18 the supermarkets are surprisingly empty, when people come from work and shop dinner on their way home...empty for people like us ❤

Except in the big cities. Went to a Berlin supermarket about 8pm and it was busy. The suburbs are probably different. I do like that most stores are closed Sundays as it allows the workers to have a day off. But that will probably change too.

I like night shopping as well. Any time past 8pm is the best time to shop. It's calm. Makes it less hectic and easier to think.

I live in N California. I grew up in the UK.We didn't celebrate Halloween when I was a kid in the 1960s in England. I think the Halloween movies have spread the popularity of Halloween across the globe. 🎃

It's definitely the American TV/Movies though Europe celebrates it more as a scary holiday and dresses up in scary costumes. Not the sexy maids and kittens that many Americans dress up as. But trick or treating is still kind of strange. It's mostly costume parties and of course bars that have costume night.
