Really appreciate the deep dive into the Ur-Dragon deck list, especially with the upcoming reprint in the commander masters set. Your tips on how to balance this deck, even though it can get quite pricey, are super helpful. And good call on the proxies, I'll definitely be discussing that with my playgroup! Love your content and looking forward to seeing what's next! 👍🐉
You missed it in the combo section but Ancient Gold Dragon and either dragon tempest or scourge of valkas (really should be in the deck) will likely win you the game. Each of the dragon tokens made by ancient gold dragon see each other on entry. So you can start the turn with just dragon tempest on the field. Play ancient gold dragon which gets haste and deals 1 damage from tempest and swing. Provided you connect you will deal 7 damage to a player and roll that d20.. average roll of 11 will give you 11 instances of 12 damage from tempest for 132 more damage which in a pod of 4 should clear the table (especially if people have taken damage before)
@8bitflea personally I am not a huge fan of karthus, tyrant of jund. It's a nice big beater and can take control of other dragon on the field, but someone paying 4 mana and making a clone of him will wreck your day.
(Scourge of Valkas) is very good in this deck. Didn't make the cut because i was building this with friends and they had stuff they wanted to include. For example Karthus, tyrant of Jund.@@8bitflea
My only suggestion to add to this deck would be Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient. He’s a Gruul 5 1G 1R 4/4 that has flying and haste. When he attacks, you add X amount of mana in any X combination of colors where X is the total power of creatures you control. This mana can only be used to cast spells Have a big stompy dragon or something that buffs dragons like Thrakkus or make Scion your highest power dragon and you can have upwards of 20+ mana to spend to cast whatever you want afterwards, and it gives you mana to cast spells at instant speed because it happens at attack declaration, not after combat damage like Old Gnawbone or others. So you can overload a Cyclonic Rift or use Instant target removal. Or cast Ur-Dragon during second main phase. He’s a slept-on dragon that can win you games if he’s played right
I took Karthas out of my Ur-dragon deck, my meta has a lot of clone effects in it and nothing feels worse than having someone clone your Karthas to take control of your entire board.
the only thing i would add in/swap out would be moonveil dragon and scourge of valkas. Scourge turns Sarkahn (planeswalker) into an ult I win immediately rather than ult I win at combat moonveil is a board wide firebreathing effect without the "dragons" condition and is cheaper.
you get 320 parallel lives tokens from the 32 astral dragons and 5 parallel lives. add in -descent of the dragons- dragon tempest and it would kill everyone right there through etb triggers. edit: i mixed up descent with tempest for some reason... descent is the kill everything and you get dragons in return.
I wish there was a way I could message you guys! I'm actively building this deck but I was wanting to know cheaper alternatives (mainly to some of the lands) so that I can go ahead and get most of it.
I'll look into getting a Discord started. For now, I can say that the Dominaria dual lands are good to start with instead of shock lands. They have the land types needed for Farseek and Nature's Lore, and they should all be around 10 to 20 cents. If you need to replace the fetches (which are outrageously expensive), then I would suggest swapping them for the dual lands that care about the number of opponents (Battlebond lands), which should be in the 10 dollar price range. If you need the budget to be even lower, you can replace the fetches with the pain land cycle that just got reprinted. Thanks for watching!
This deck has to have Tiamat as commander and Ur-Dragon in 99, as it is completely useless next to Tiamat when it comes to combining cards, she simply ends the game the turn she enters, there is no equivalence between them, she is simply extremely superior!
@@ManaMootit wouldn't work that way. Wyrm would create the token, then that token would be doubled by parallel. Parallelonly double the effect, not each instance of a token. So you would have 3 Astral Dragons and 12 3/3 dragons.
SHWWWWEEEEEEEET

So what would you take out and replace? Thanks

Sweet deck! Love all the combos.
Great opening. 😂

Hell yeah, love some dragons. Good to see a deck that thinks instead of just vomiting lizards out lol
I got another deck to finish before The Ur Dragon but I've had to go back and watch this twice. Great nuggets
Damn, WOTC has stuffed dragons full of combos over the years.
I took Karthas out of my Ur-dragon deck, my meta has a lot of clone effects in it and nothing feels worse than having someone clone your Karthas to take control of your entire board.
Another combo is Dragon Tempest OR Scourge of Valkas + Ancient Gold Dragon. If you deals combat damage to a player, roll a d20 and a posible GG :D

Moon veil is sweet! Yeah, cutting scourge was a mistake. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video, I'm always looking for ideas to tune up my Ur Dragon. I'll be making adjustments.
Thanks for watching!

Close, not too bad
Because your Deck wins by attacking you should consider using druid's repository

Can't go wrong with (Driaid's repository) good card
How ya doin?😢
Howdy! We in the Wild West with this video. Lol
@@animelove100 Hail! I'd say we're more in Medieval Times with all the Dragons lol

i dont get the x32 astral. dragon copies... how did that happen?
Each copy of parallel lives is doubling the number of tokens. so first 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. Hopefully that helps and thanks for watching!

No Bower Passage to promote horrific abuse of your fellow opponents?
lol Its funny you say that, it was such a hard cut for me. Thanks for watching!
