I'm 67 and as well as changing to a Keto diet, I found a couple of videos on UA-cam for pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises. These have worked like a charm for me within a couple of months.

@@varundwivedi867 Hi, it took just over 6 weeks with doing 10 long and 10 short contractions on alternate days. I used the method as taught by the
Michelle Kenway Physiotherapy channel on UA-cam .
She has a timed video called "Kegels for Men - REAL TIME Daily Kegels WORKOUT"
She said that the time to see results varies a lot with different people. Sometimes can be a week, sometimes a month, and with some can be up to 3 months or more to see results. I know that at 3 weeks nothing was happening and I doubted everything but carried on anyway. It felt "fuller" during week 4 and progressed from there.

Man, so happy to hear from you on this. Twenty years ago or so, I was utterly stunned by your presentations on PBS. You gained huge credibility to me then, and now, to find you on UA-cam is super valuable, especially amid so much BS pushed everywhere.

I don’t have ED but I use ginkgo bilobia everyday with garlic supplements, beet root powder and B1 benfotimeine. This combo with olive oil and cayynee pepper and at age 59, my wife thanks me everyday. Ok, every other day or two but you get the just of this -it’s what you put into your body that will make all the difference. Some men don’t need any of this but for me-I’ve found my orgasims are incredible. It’s all about blood flow. Vascular.

In defense of many doctors out there, unfortunately it is often not a case of the doctors not knowing to request these tests, but it's the insurance companies not being willing to cover the costs of these tests. On several occasions I've requested to have some of these tests done, and my doctor has told me he could order them, but my insurance would not cover them. I'd have to pay for them out of pocket, which is something I cannot afford to do. So, people are left not knowing vital information because insurances, that you pay out the ass for, won't cover them. Insurance companies aren't about prevention. They are all about profit. Healthy people don't make a profit for them but chronically ill people do.

I really wish I could laugh, even smile about this. I made ALL of these mistakes (alcohol, drugs, lifestyle, horrible diet) for decades. I’m 44 and this has been my most frustrating health issue yet, and it’s yet to be determined what my blood vessels etc look like. I wonder if I’ve done irreparable damage and I worry if I’m going to actually be able to be sexually intimate with a woman again - ever. I’ve made changes to my diet and stopped smoking. Never was a big drinker but have cut that out too. I wish I had taken my health and nutrition into consideration when I was partying away in my thirties thinking life’s good and you live forever. I feel pretty isolated and alone with this, as I can’t talk about it to everyone..I hope I can get past this and get sexually healthy and that this isn’t going to define the second half of my life

At 51 I spent the last 18 months recovering my manhood after 4 years of being separated and being quite out of practise.
Hitting the gym helped was not THE initial push against the inertia I found. I boosted my testosterone with food and supplements, building muscle will do it too.
I also considered arterial plaquing and took that as a symptom of a possible larger problem.
I also dealt with my psychology as my ex made me feel worthless.
Finally I hit upon the kick up the rear end that smashed inertia.
Went to an adult shop and they had a herbal supplement called Vitamin Xx.
I no longer use it as it made me hard kept me hard only when I was aroused. Lasted 3 days.
I learnt to take less and get the same effect.
Eventually found I did not need it nor want it.
I think psychologically it gave me the confidence with my girlfriend and hijacked self doubt and negative thinking.
I certainly don't perform like I did at 20 but age and experience makes up for it.
Just frustrated that I don't know what a quickie is any more.

When I was put on amitriptyline for nerve pain and mild depression is when I started having issues. After I heard that it can cause issues, I stopped taking it. I changed to a vegan diet, and I started popping wood sitting at my desk at work. I think it was mostly circulation issues. I was consuming a lot of garlic which also helps. When my diet fluctuates I have a decline in penis health. There are a lot of herbs that also help. Cacoa and maca seems to REALLY make a big difference. There is a lot to it, but your health should be the main focus in anyone's life. Without your health, you don't have much.

Some of it is natural aging and the reduction of testosterone that comes with such. The blue pill is a miracle in that aspect. Erections, while unstoppable when young, require more effort when older. Biology

It's definitely the bad diet and not age. It's not normal for blood to not circulate. Low testosterone is due to diet. That blue pill eats men kidneys up. It's better to juice and take ashwaganda to boost testosterone and drink and tea with gingko biloba and gotu kola for circulation.

❤️?? Obviously this is FANTASTIC info and I've learned a lot from you through my years of studying to be a Nutrition Coach, functional medicine coach and trainer, but still there is ONE THING NOBODY talks about. ED when you don't live the average American diet. I'm a ranked endurance athlete, exercise 3-4 days a week, have a solid diet régimen, intermittent fasting, high fat. Hiit training, resistance training, has good labido, T levels in the 400s which is not great but overall, I'm as healthy as I could be and still have issues with getting and staying hard, with the exception of mornings. Make a video about già like me 🙏 please

I absolutely love your work and mission Dr Hayman. Everything you said is so critical and true. BUT you failed to mention Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction, the fastest growing form of ED affecting millions of young men and men of all ages today. It is a predominant form of ED. As a functional medicine expert, you must address such a major root source of ED today. I am an expert on PIED and all forms of ED on my UA-cam channel Brooke Hazen

Thanks for this great outline, it was super informative! Had a bit of a bout with ED and plummeting libido during the early days of the pandemic a few years back. I think it has to do with stress from work and just general anxiety. Some things that have really put me back in balance and helped are meditation (I use an app called Waking Up and it’s great) and using standardized hot-water Tongkat Ali root extract. The latter has given me back regular morning wood and my erections and orgasms are nothing short of spectacular. Very happy with it over the past few years and can’t recommend this combo enough.

Extremely clear and informative lecture, Doc. I have a unique situation where my T is down to 19 due to ADT drugs for metastatic prostate cancer (Ubeqa and Orgovyx), but I'm not having any significant ED issues. My oncologist puts it down to possivble hypersexuality ; he isn't quite sure.
My theory, which I'd like your opinion on, is the power of the brain, the concept of sapiopsexuality, where one is attracted to intelligence and the other aspects (physical appearance, personality, etc.) after that. They have to all line up, of course.
As males, we are also attracted to certain body types. Often, if those types change because of poor dietary and exercise habits, so our attraction and desire changes. Familiarity can also decrease desire. And these changes go both ways, so it's important that each partner "works" on themselves continuously (diet, exercise, education, etc.)
I'm 61 and have a younger partner (38), so, once again, there are factors outside of the body chemistry at play also. I'd love to hear your take on that aspect -- which, admittedly, is more psychological.

Does masturbation, such as 2 times a day or more decrease Testosterone levels? I heard sex increases testosterone if even for the moment of the day. I ask because if masturbation and ejaculation (male) does impact testosterone and energy, then certainly something to consider through a week/ goals and can be leveraged to advantage and productivity, such as semen retention for a couple days of a work week/ working towards high energy days of work and goal motivation to completion.

I’m doing keto, about 3 months in so far, lost 25lbs and my libido is more on fire than it has been for years… that being said I also have some ed issues and a supportive relationship… so I’ve been doubling my exercise, intermittent fasting and meditating daily. Things are definitely improving, though I still rely on some pharmaceuticals to keep the engine pumping. My testosterone tested low, but taking some measures at improving that as well. Good luck man!
