I listened to the podcast version a few days or weeks ago and don’t recall him mentioning brain trauma as a cause. It’s been an issue for me as I believe it’s why my body doesn’t have adequate hormone production/utilization but who knows with everything we’re exposed to on the daily now. Just wanted to put it out there for people.
Hi Troy, I suspect that, because a brain trauma is a massive potentially chronic stressor on the body, it would come under the issue of stress. I hope you're able to manage stress in your life.
Hello Mark Hyman my name is Mark as well, I had a Pituitary Adenoma 10/6/2021 my hormonal system was plummeting I need to speak to someone different about this please let me know
If you follow their lifestyle advice, they're saying you shouldn't need to push the hormone in the system artificially. It's similar to pushing thyroid pill when thyroid is low, instead of digging to learn WHY it's low
I’m seriously grateful for all of your amazing content. I was doing a lot of exhaustive research on HFC and artificial sweeteners, and various other metabolic dysfunctions and I stumbled across your feed. Holy smokes, you have totally encapsulated a year’s worth of wading through the chaff of endless big pharma and big food’s endless propaganda and into a succession of videos that actually deals with the ROOT cause of the issues and not just the symptoms. What a concept. God bless you doc.
Hi Mark and team, could you make a video on BPH? Seems to be pretty common and as far as I know prostate enlargement only happens regularly on humans and dogs, so there is definitely a huge environmental/diet contribution.
If you're interested, there is a good video called “Endocrine Disruptors - Common Chemicals That Severely Alter Your Hormones - Dr Shanna Swan” that covers Bisphenols (BPA, BPF & BPS) and Phthalates as being the main culprits of feminisation in men.
many of the foods that you mentioned are in most Spanish foods and countries not surprising that pablo picasso and Anthony Quinn were impregnating women while they were in their 70's
Thanks Dr. Mark. I work consistently with the wellness recommendations in the video. My total testosterone is 810, free available 13.2. estradiol 39.4 DHEA 396. I take 200 mg of DIM with my evening meal to lower estradiol. What form of Biotin and how much? Actually I feel really good, physically and mentally. I am 72. Much appreciation.
@@corye7133 I would love to know if you have seen any improvement on that or had any enlightenment about it I know this is from 3 years ago, but my husband, who's around 46 is I guess around 20? He's a little overweight, but only in his belly, but he's super strong, our frequency has gone down but when we do, it's totally incredible and he doesn't seem to have any trouble in that department, he doesn't have any boobage, and has a great head of hair, so now I am freaking out about the possible health issues, which I don't even know what to check out first Obviously, he has gotten pretty freaking depressed about this, and has just as much stress or more than most men his age in the U.S. so could that be all that it is? It just seems crazy I guess I was just desperately hoping you had some of the wisdom of hindsight because I don't think his female doctor is paying enough attention and I just think he needs a more astute doc on this subject, and any advice or experience you might have to share would be very appreciated Thank you in advance, God bless you
Patient: do you agree with everything they're saying here? 'Conventional' doctor: well, yeah. Patient: then why don't you do for your patients what they are recommending?
'conventional doctor' : because it's not in the "guidelines" and anything that isn't and the guys lines we consider pseudoscience, and we don't have time to think for ourselves so we just do what the AMA tells us to 🤷♂️
@@adamthorntonillustration9281 I agree. it's sad, and deeply disconcerting. However that's the sad reality of Medical Practice nowadays. 99% of practitioners are like that and it is virtually impossible to find anyone who isn't. Accessing functional medicine physicians via telemedicine can be incredibly costly and often times they don't have the right to practice in my area. Where I live there is only one functional medicine doctor and she charges around $300 per visit not covered by insurance. What are we supposed to do?
Can you guys touch more on diet. I have heard conflicting information. One group of Dr.s will recommend a plant based diet and others will recommend a more Keto diet to increase Testosterone. If diet plays a key roll, I would like to know your recommendation.
As I listen to this podcast, I wondered about some recent news I discovered. I read that the FDA is investigating the use of compounding hormones claiming that that valid research does not sufficient support the use of these therapies. I do NOT agree! In the 2001 FDA statement, it appears to be a strong push to support only pharmaceutical medication . Bio identical hormones used judiciously are effective, I believe. Also, what is available via the pharmaceutical industry is not the magic bullet. Can you please help?
Great T. and related hormone issues. Me, been there done that and still there, ha. About High Quality supplements: Are there preferred dosages for - DIM and Biotin(or a preferred form of biotin)? Also for the following: Saw Palmetto, Stinging Nettle and Boron? Us Baby Boomers could use a lot of real Functional help if u will. Also is Lightly bound T. considered bio available or just the Free T? I hope that Dr, Hyman can produce more T. related vids for us men that have to rely on our GP's.ill advised advice? So grateful that I saw this vid. Thanks
Excellent video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Lammywalness Awesome Nights Guide (search on google)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for discovering how to improve your libido without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting got cool success with it.
Why aren't there Dr's like you two gentlemen where I live, in Israel. It's almost impossible for a guy to get HRT here. Women? No problem. Gay, and looking to "transition?" Easy peasy. But a regular old, straight guy like me? Just forget it. I guess they expect us to just shrivel up and die. If you guys do telemedicine, or know anybody who does, I would appreciate you're sharing it with me. All the best. Great video. Very helpful. Thanks!
Don’t be concerned with the numbers so much as how you feel and perform. Genes can play a role in hormone levels and some people like Thomas DeLauer do fine with less (he’s a beast). If you don’t have energy, sex drive, zest for life, etc. then start with diet and lifestyle and be strict about it. Lots of animal protein and fat an absolutely NO SOY. Good sleep and reduce cortisol as much as possible. But if you feel great otherwise then your body just does a better job with lower levels. Hope that helps.
How do I go about getting in touch and working with this doctor? I have struggled with Low T for years and can't find a doctor willing to find root cause. They just want to stick me on TRT.

One big cause that's not often mentioned is opiates. Common pills dished out like smarties such as Tramadol and codeine drastically lower T.
Totally ruined my drive

So can this be done on a plant based diet ? Is it possible?
