    Dr. Hyman here is a silly simple recipe for Frozen Wild Blueberry jam like substance. Just take 1 lb wild frozen blueberries put in a qt jar and let thaw, add about a quarter cup of Chia seeds and stir. the chia seeds soak up the blueberry juice and gel up to make a jam looking useable healthy no cooking , no added sugar, no added chemicals jam and it is fantastic with yogurt and even makes a great summer greens dressing on dark leafy greens. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

    I eat sardines multiple times a week & do not smell like fish. My friends often comment on how is that’s possible when I eat fish so regularly, lol! I think it’s just a hygiene thing! In addition to the mental clarity/mental health benefits from eating sardines it also results in fantastic clear skin. They just seem to clear up a lot inside & out!😃

    The canned sardines from Costco are good and are approx. $2.00 a can if you're on a budget. Now they carry a smoked sardine (yum) in a glass jar that per unit is almost half the $ of the regular sardines. They are easy to leave in fridge and eat from the jar if you don't like the mess or the smell of cooking fish, but I don't mind and eat sockeye salmon too. If you eat salads, the oil is great for salad dressing, so don't toss it. Nordic Naturals makes an orange or lemon flavored cod liver oil that are extremely palatable. The orange flavor is great and another great way to get your Omega 3. Sprinkle flax and chia in your scrambled eggs or omelet if you don't eat shakes or salads and an omelet, for me, is the easiest way to add greens. I'm more carnivore and very low carb, so I'll add a serving of broccoli or spinach in an omelet and keep to about 20 grams. Don't skip on getting the best, pasture-raised eggs if on a budget. They are the perfect food and have the best, fat to protein ratio around at 1:1. I've used the grass fed mail order meat suppliers but their cuts of meat are just too small for the price. Do your homework, but I was very disappointed. Fruit is a tigger, so I avoid. Know your triggers. But, for me, all this doesn't help my mood unless I get proper sleep. I still need a heaping portion of it too. The bear within is always lurking without the zzz's.

    I only buy tuna at Costco which has been tested for mercury. They are Wild Planet and Safe Catch. I enjoy watching your videos which reinforces the way I've eaten all my life, and why at 67 I am the same height, size and weight I have been since I reached adulthood. I also read ingredient labels and avoid all artificial sweeteners, including stevia and agave, which has a higher glycemic index than HFC. I would describe myself as mainly vegetarian/pescatarian, but occasionally eat some meat. I only eat full fat dairy, preferably grass fed, and avoid all seed oils.

    • @akaSophie92672
      @akaSophie92672 5 місяців тому

      Other types...eat them in moderation due to mercury. Mercury is very hard to clear out of our bodies. The oceans are polluted with mercury, and it is in every fish. Larger fish that eat smaller ones concentrate the mercury in their tissue. Small fish have far less mercury. Have large fish if you love them, but in moderation.

    I’m feeling very confused since coming across the impact of oxalic acid on the body, found in so many of the super foods, especially blackberries , spinach, chard etc. Basically these foods are super high in oxalic 28:50 acid which combines with calcium in the body to form tiny crystals that can migrate all over the body, especially the kidneys.

    I use the can of Whole Foods 365 skipjack tuna which has less mercury than the solid white tuna. My favorite canned Salmon is Wild Planet pink salmon. I mix it with some mayo and dijon mustard. Toast up a whole wheat English muffin to put my tuna or salmon on. One can is enough for two meals. I also like Wild Planet Sardines, and all there fish products are wild caught. My favorite food to eat is avocados, I mash them up with sea salt, garlic, and lime juice. You can toast up a whole wheat wedge under the broiler and spread the avocado on top. Makes a nice dinner. Because of my colon issues, I'm not allowed to eat seeds, corn, nuts or red meat. Will try some lamb, I saw some grass fed lamb at Whole Foods. It's hard to get grass fed meats these days, especially chicken. I've switched to goat cheese cause, cows milk cheese doesn't agree with my stomach and colon. I'm very carful with dairy, I can't eat ice cream anymore. They did a study at Mount Sinai Hospital in 60's when my Dad was working there on milk. I over heard him talking about milk not being really good for you when I was a kid. My 4th grade teacher called my dad saying I was telling the kids not to drink milk. He was impressed but, said I can't do that anymore. Any milk I have is in my afternoon tea. I love pasture raised eggs. I get the Vital Farms organic pasture raised eggs at Whole Foods. Hard boiled is my favorite way to eat eggs. Will get more blueberries. Try and drink green tea, I get 5 different green teas from Harney & Sons. Also Hibiscus tea is also good to drink. Both these teas lower blood pressure and good for the heart. Plus you don't add sugar. When I have my English black tea I try and use less than a teaspoon of sugar. I also eat dark chocolate, Mast is the brand I eat as, allot of the dark chocolate brands have allot of lead. Sad to say they had a fire at the factory in Brooklyn where it's made so, have to wait for it to come back to Whole Foods. I try and stay away from cakes but, once a month I get a vegan chocolate cupcake. If you have a blender, you can make a nice smoothie with baby spinach. Be careful though, cause I got some organic spinach that was contaminated with salmonella.

    If carbohydrates are so toxic, why did we evolve organs like the pancreas and metabolic pathways to metabolize them? There is reason to believe that oxidation of omega 6 fats incorporated into membranes of cells and mitochondria damages insulin receptors, DNA, and energy production which leads to insulin resistance, endothelial cell damage, mitochondrial fermentation metabolism, diabetes, CVD, cancer, and degenerative neurological disease.
