I LOVE single serving recipes! I struggle with portion control and if I make a batch of donuts, I'll eat too many of them. :( But, If I only make one then, I enjoy it and usually don't want to mess around making any more. :) So, thank you! It Looks delicious!

One trick to fry stuff up without needing to use much oil is using a wok. The small area in the center can get to a nice level for a shallow fry with only a bit of oil, and the wide sides keep things from splattering. Love that little hack. Going to have to try these soon!

Well, thank you, I tried it with coconut flour to replace the protein powder and fried it in coconut oil. It came out more like donut soup. I threw it in a bowl and called it. Donut cobbler. Still taste good.

I default to unsalted - you can always add more salt, but you can't take it away! Proof your recipe to check if anything is needed before cooking (in this case, the little bit of dough to test the oil temp might be perfect!)

OH MY GOODNESS! It was soooooo very good. Absolutely great! 🎉🎉🎉The texture was excellent and light. The “crust” was just right. I did use lard and almost deep fried it. The lard was deep enough that I could flip it up on the sides. We have a Krispy Kreme near us and it is always such a temptation. But this will do nicely and I’m not missing a thing. I’m sure I’ll be making this often. I’ll keep the excess lard to use again and designate it for donuts only. 😎 Thank you for sharing this recipe. I have a feeling that as soon as the family tastes it, I’ll need to use the batch recipe. ❤❤❤

When I started carnivore/ keto again this year I thought.. man, is this what i'm gonna be eating for the rest of my life (steaks, eggs etc) with no treats. 😔
But my idea of a cheat now is a keto dessert or fruit and i've already made your blueberry cheesecake recipe 3 times now mixing up the berry combos and they are divine and a saviour from the carnivorous style of eating.
Your style is good and you have the best desserts so thank you. Will try these eventually!

What I really miss - and haven’t had for at least 20 years are raised yeast donuts. They are not cake textured. They have that raised airy quality that I loved. I doubt I’ll ever be able to have one again as, besides being keto, I’m allergic to wheat. So even if I wanted to have a higher carb day, the raised yeast donuts are out. Still, next to ice cream and cheese cake, it was my favorite dessert. 😢

My favorite donut is a chocolate hot dog (donuts shaped like hot dog buns, butter cream icing is the hot dog, dusted with powdered sugar, and 3 slashes of chocolate on top; a local bakery's best-selling item). I can only eat two of them at a time. Lee's and my autistic teenage son Daniel would eat the rest.
