Have you ridden a supermoto? If so what's your favorite?
I never have! Large and small dual sports and street bikes.. any recommendations for good ones to start? Other than your KTM?
Got a DRZsm and it's tons of fun! My buddy is converting his KTM 990 into a supermoto gonna literally be insane😂
The Suzuki DRZ has been around for 20 years and is a good place to start. Other than the Suzuki, KTM , and Husqvarna most Supermotos are converted dirt bikes.
A 990 is insane for Supermoto. That should be awesome!
@@mototipz Yes totally agree, Bill! Hope to see you at Socal SM sometime- going with Greg and a bunch of buddies on Sunday 12/4🤙
Welcome to the dark side. 😁 I was a sport bike only guy till a couple of talented locals said "get something upright with wide bars for the back roads". I got a SXV550 that was great but pretty high strung. A couple of years later a 525smr, that I still love, and recently a Duke 690. If you have good roads, smaller, lighter bikes are much more fun.
Love your review and location! I'm late to the show and just love my newly acquired 701SM. Do you mind outlining the mods you have on the 609? I'm particularly interested in your headlights, tail tidy additions. Thanks!!
Never have ridden a supermoto, looks like a lot of fun!!
Definitely lots of fun!
Almost bought a 2020 KLX300SM as a first bike. Went with a 2020 Kawasaki Z900 RS instead as the first bike. Realized I like longer road trips so I bought a 2014 Triumph Tiger 1200.
I'm only 5'7" so I understand the tip toe issues.
Nice choices with the Z900 and Tiger!
They are both great for their intended purposes. Anything under 100 miles the Kawasaki is sublime for. Have already done an Iron Butt on the Tiger and it did really well.
Thanks for the tips and insight you provide.
Looking forward to the SM build.
I have the same bike, its sick! but idk if I can keep it it as I need something better for freeway use
Get a second motorcycle 😜 I still have my BMW 1250 GSA for the freeway.
