What should be the approx distance between two cones??
@@ashishchaudharicool 10 feet. You can start with longer like 11 or 12 to get comfortable.
Thats literally the freeway i need to take to get to work but in the opposite direction. Im so afraid to hop on the freeway
What's the real purpose? Just faster corner entry/exit? I've always learned that Trail breaking was important for changing the geometry of the bike with the compression of the front forks. But with that GS (same bike I ride) and the Tele-lever front suspension the geometry isn't supposed to change.
To keep pressure on the front tire to keep the suspension settled and to provide the maximum grip on the front tire. Safer, faster, and more control.
This was great. Thank you. I really struggle with keeping my head up when doing slow speed drills. Are you applying any back brake? Or do you force yourself to eliminate the back brake altogether?
What signal lights are those?
TST Industries
What signal lights are those?
Sliders will crack your frame from regular riding
Frame sliders will crack your frame from regular use. Definitely remove those.
what brand of amber aux lights do u have?
Rigid. Great lights!
@@mototipz thanks. are these lights good to be seen or is it meant to light up the road ahead? i'm looking for amber lights to only be seen better by drivers. so i don't want huge lights just tiny ones so drivers can see me.
@@ropeysubstance1719 they do both very well but they aren't small. I'd look at some of the smaller lights from Denali.
Sehr sexy
I'm 5"10, 160 lbs and at first I thought there was no way I could do it, but after going to youtube and watching a few different videos on technique, I realized we literally become like a "car jack" by standing, kicking, or pressing on the center stand while also holding onto the left handlebar, simultaneously extending the rear out & up. It's all in the technique and confidence. 3 points of contact.
Love your review and location! I'm late to the show and just love my newly acquired 701SM. Do you mind outlining the mods you have on the 609? I'm particularly interested in your headlights, tail tidy additions. Thanks!!
Yawn. Another "easy way to center stand!" video with the same tired "push down with all your weight!" advice. Not everybody is a tall heavy man. Sorry to blow your mind. Maybe next you can make an "easy way to turn!" video where you expertly instruct us to lean.
Great video. Please do more of these
I like them crash sliders/ bobbins on the side of the bike. What make are they mate? Nice bike btw
Don’t. They will crack your frame from vibrations
I'm blessed with a dead-end street.Having painted 4" dots to do a 10ft. cone weave then a 20' keyhole pattern after it. I hit it before and after a trip to town.Great warm up.
Night time riding tips: be in a lane with a car far ahead and watch what they do, if they swerve there may be something in the lane. have a flashing light on your pack so people can see you better.
So all the Harley’s owner get a ticket for having their exhaust loud?
Agree to have side stand down, also in gear getting off the centre stand so it's not rolling away if you come off the break.
What's the point of doing this. I have a Husky FE 350, in the trails I open up the has and powerslide with my foot out and my crotch up on the tank. Never heard of this before.
Trail braking is a street riding tactic. It has virtually no application in the dirt.
hi. Please tell me what are the turn signals? What are they called?
Indicators
Idk why, but your voice sounds like it has Autotune on it 🙂 Tips are very useful!
Thanks mom!
Hey, do you think in your next video you can tell us how to properly use hair conditioner?
"Cool wwhhhip and wwhhheelees !"
I am comfortable with 2 fingers , but at Honda msf course they taught and made sure we used 4 fingers on both levers.
MSF courses are often very basic. Four fingers works but two fingers has a lot of advantages.
If you are already on your lean and in the process of trailing off the brakes, then suddenly you need to stop? Do you continue pressing the front brake, or apply the rear brake instead?
Front brake. But it should be applied in a smooth progressive manner. Any abrupt inputs (brake or throttle) while at lean could cause a loss of traction.
@@mototipz I've been trying this but really could not get it. In that situation, front brake only slows me down, but not a complete stop. I once tried to grip but gives me a low side.
Which track day is that?
One of the Moto Forza track days.
Dam bro you are very skilled rider. Nice man nice training and life saving skills
I've been watching slow cone videos for about and hour. Yours is the best one. Most informative and the clearest explanation of the techniques involved. THANKS! 👍
Thanks! Hopefully it helps.
Thank you for making this video, I'm currently in motor school and this helped me understand this movement more
What windscreen did you buy? Just bought the same bike at BMW Motorcycles San Diego.
National Cycles Windscreen. They are my favorite for BMW's.
No one seems to say anything much about wind and all the wierd stuff that happens esp with big suvs and trucks. That's what I find the biggest thing to handle. Plus just windy conditions. Im on a 125 but so probably worse for me
Good man
I don’t quite understand the point of the friction zone, at least for my bike I’m assuming bigger, more powerful bikes have a higher idle speed, 15 mph for example. In that case, I get it, you need the friction zone to get fractional power so that you can maintain the 7-9mph zone for slow speed drills But my 400cc sport bike idles at 4-5 mph, I feel like I need full clutch engagement plus a bit of throttle, otherwise I’d be too slow for slow speed and U turn drills. Is there any point for me to be in the friction zone?
Calidad y poderosa
What's the ideal speed for this?
Depends on what you want to focus on. You can go as slow as 2 mph or as fast 15 mph or possibly more. Somewhere in the 5 to 10 mph range is probably ideal.
do you start trailing off brake pressure before or after tipping the bike for a turn?
Usually during but it depends on the turn.
Wrong all ways leave side stand down you may loose balance or pull a muscle and if the side stand is down you can easily prevent the bike falling ,
We can agree to disagree. I prefer side stand up because it can get in the way. But if it makes more sense to you no worries. I would at least raise it up after the center stand is up so that when you take it off the center stand the motorcycle doesn't soam down on the side stand.
Taking the gsa motorcycle off the center stand the pedal hit me in the knee cap which required medical attention!
I tried pushing down only but it didn't work until i pushed back which caused me back pain, i don't know what's the problem is it me or the center stand design?
Some motorcycles are more challenging than others. You definitely shouldn't be using your back to try to lift. Focus on driving down with your leg. Keep working on it.
So, why do it? I've been riding for decades and put on hundreds of thousands of miles and don't seem to have ever done it, at least consciously. What's the point? Thanks
