- DISCLAIMER: I don’t catch anything in this video. Bounced from Sandy Hook to Sea Brite to Long Branch to Asbury Park to Seaside Heights to Manasquan....made a couple dumb jokes....talked to a few people....take this as a surf fishing report/learning experience.
Seriously though, I didn’t know if I should post this. Still May even delete it. But I wanted you guys to know I’ve been out there on the grind, this day was similar to about 15 days since my last video, it’s felt like forever since I’ve posted content....so....laugh at my pain.

I got a schoolie a week ago but the bite is slow. People are catching in the right spot at the right time. SH is busted with dogfish.
INFESTED with them! The Squan and Seaside are the same thing. A LOT of footage cut out of this....a lot....but everything getting pulled up from dead sticks was dog fish

I am on the hunt too for my first, i tried manasquan rocks at dusk last night. No life.
Was talking to a guy who works for fishermenssource.com there that night and he said he’s been having some luck with smaller bass at night with SP Minnows. But nothing to write home about

I grew up on ocean ave. You have to stop at the end of Lincoln Ave in Deal before you hit Asbury! I used to fish there and it’s a good spot not too many know about

Strait up - made me feel better because I haven't caught one striper yet either and was doing pretty good in the spring around Belmar...i dont think the water is cold enough yet (or hasn't been - just got under 60...55-58 is usually the sweet spot)

Hey question! I go to Squan inlet every now and then but dont have much luck. Is it worth going at low tide or mostly just high tide?
High tide. Big fan of the squan during the Spanish Mac runs. I’ve caught a bookies there....some fluke....pretty damn good for blackfish. I’d say mostly Spanish, there are better places for fluke and bass.

Need an update! Did you keep trying? I think it’s done for me after the last storm.....was out there this morning and froze my ass off. Nothing biting. But the run improved after this vid

I was at Sandy Hook this weekend also. On saw 4 caught in the 16 total hours i was fishing. I had a big 0. The old timers said the week of Thanksgiving is they pick up off the surf. They also said you have to hit it at sunrise, after the sun comes up you have to fight hard to get a fish.
Very similar to my experience. Sunrise, saw a couple caught on tiny paddle tails, and that was about it (this was last weekend). This weekend I didn’t even HEAR of a fish being pulled let alone SEE one.
