Reel: Pen Conflict II
Line: 30lb braid, 30lb floro leader
Heard from Mad Maris themselves on a little tip for the hooks: “One of the guys on the Cape fish it with a single 3/0 on the belly only. Helps with the larger fish”…going to have to give that a try!

The bite looks awesome!! Thanks for the info Eric. Always appreciated brother. I hope to get out soon
Bought a few of those at a show. Glad to see that they work, will def use them soon. Thanks for your review.
They def do! That was my first true try with them, too. I casted them a few times earlier in the season in the Raritan river just to see how the movement was and check the action. Didn’t take long to see that they would catch fish when the bite was on.
Eric, great information as always. I like the single in-line hook. Great see back on the hunt! Tight lines
Thanks homie! Appreciate the feedback on the hooks! 🤙
nice video. what town was that,? thanks
Awesome catching! I’m new to using lures like these. Just bought a new rod and reel setup just for lures. I’m used to chunking bunker. Love your videos
Appreciate that! In early spring you can have just about the same amount of luck with bloods or bunker as lures. Some will argue pluggin is more fun just because you’re always active
You do miss more fish with the single hooks but it’s better for the fish. so if your like me. I don’t eat fish unless it fluke or cod and it has to be fresh. So I use single hooks because I like catch and release hoping I get to catch the fish again and not kill it because he swallowed the treble hook.
good man good video keep it up. thanks for uploading this kind a videos...
Thanks for watching! Good luck out there 🤙
How strong is this lure? My favorite one is sebile stick shad but when it hits the rock, it keeps breaking 😭
Don’t know nothing about fishing but I watch the videos because they’re entertaining
I went out yesterday on sea tiger and did good videos on my channel
Tempting to drive all the way from Wisconsin Eric!
Awesome video.
Welcome back to UA-cam E!!!
Awesome video bro just subscribed 👍🏾🙌🏽
Was the Nj Angler you site I bought a shirt and sticker for my truck and on the way home from work a guy on a Harley stopped me and said that it was his sons site this was a few years back.
Hey bro, I shared tides next to you once or maybe twice! I was in the group with Big John!
Went out Striper fishing on the sea tiger out of Adlantic hillands and did really good got some videos on my channel
Let's Go!!!
picked up a few of these after your recommendation of the Williamson lures, which work great!^^ but 1/0 trebles on yours?@
Those were VMC 1’s. I’ve put single in line, 2/0 on them since
hey brother is it a first light bite or late afternoon when the water is warmer on outgoing tide?
I’m a first light guy, but these were towards the end of the day into sunset. I love the last three hours of incoming or first three hours of outgoing!
What waders and shoes you using?
The typical neoprene ones. I like those better
How far would you say you are casting out? 100 yds?
I mean…I don’t want to brag. Lol. Easily 50
@@FromtheSurfNJ That's funny sh!t!
Using the stank ? Always entertaining Big E
No stank of plugs….I was stankin the worms tho. Tackle Box on 36 always has the stank.
Hi love your videos new subscriber my cousins and I love fishing would love to start surf fishing in nj, any locations you recommend me to fish
There are plenty of locations! I’ll say early spring the Raritan and barnegat bay are my favs. Then mid May it moves to the beach front, a lot of IBSP and LBI. Fall is great for Sandy hook and anywhere from manasquan down to AC
Do you use the same surf fishing poles at the bay? So much emotional damage jajajaja 👏
Absolutely! I bring the medium heavy rod. I only go lighter for fluke.
