Thank you for this comment. I’ve taken him out before but after this trip he’s really got the bug. I remember fishing as a kid with my grandfather. I’ll never forget those moments. Fishing is a great way to connect with your kids! I’ve said that in other videos….take your kid fishing, you won’t regret it!

We were on Brig beach 3 weeks ago and caught 2 short strippers🎣 nice black sea bass run!

what kind of setup on the rod u caught a striper with those heavy wave condiiton?
First of all….that rod was NOT appropriate 😂 that was my kids little ass fluke rod. But I was expecting to catch little ass fluke. For baiting like that with stripers? 8 foot med/heavy, 4000-5000 reel, 30lb braid, 30 leader, 6/0 circle.

I still haven’t caught a fluke in the surf. I just could not dial it in during last years trip, and if I’m being honest it’s been eating at me all year.

Jetty, last 3 hours of incoming into the first 3 hours of the outgoing. I have a lot of luck at sunrise. There’s hundreds of miles of beach at you can find jetty’s, tides just timing. You’ll get one, just put the time in. Location > technique
Try again now. There's a good couple of windows left before it starts winding down.
Between the jetties at A.C. was really hot just last week. I feel like last week was peak time in the area for the year. This and next week should be great, too. Go for it!

All purpose? 7 foot medium fast, size 3000 reel. Don’t go nuts….you can find a combo like that under $200-$250 at any local tackle ship
