You can predict the weather, you can predict the tides, but you can’t always predict what’s going to happen on the beach or how the ocean is going to act. Always have a plan B. And hey….catchin cocktails is better than catching nothing.

I use a 1.75oz gomame. But a deadly dick will do the job, any sort of 1.5oz to 2oz metal spoon.

You think a sputnik will hold bottom there? I've thrown 10oz pyramids and still can't even hold bottom there

I’ve honestly never tried one of those….if the current is THAT rough I’ll usually start casting heavy metals or jigs. I’d imagine those Sputnik weights have to be used at the bottom of a high/low, right?

Certain bait fishermen need to know the logics of when to use heavy ounces to hold bottom i mean damn you don't have to be smart to fish. Peace.

Everyone should be carrying up to 8oz in the car. Doesn’t mean you’ll use it often….but it could be the difference between being able to hold bottom and just pissing everyone off on the beach. BT reeled up his bait line and left it out of the water after 3 casts for that exact reason. I didn’t even throw a bait rod in the water when it told me how bad it was
