“Maaroon” “ewgots” classic Jersey style great vids totally enjoy watching and listening!!!
It’s a jersey thing. If you know you know. 😆
Good job on a high energy seminar. I am a seasoned senior fluke fisherman since my dad took me when I was a kid. You nailed it. Continued success. Can’t wait for the next video.
High energy is the only way I know 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting! Tight lines 🤙
Was going to post your reel. It was in opposition to a dude I watched eat the head off of a baby fluke/flounder (palm sized) in NC. Your videos are great. I don't want to associate real fisherman with that garbage. I so appreciate your adherence to guidelines. Thank you.
You missed your calling....you coulda been a killer preacherman. Thanks for the encouragement. I used your simplified rig with 6" grubs to catch our limit with my buddy in Barnegat Bay a couple days ago. We had to throw back over slot fish!
Nice job man, that was amazing.
Thanks Eric! This is great.
Great job you nailed it
Great video !
Thanks for the video really enjoyed watching and learning from this, been fishing since I was a kid but your dead on with every thing your saying. Can’t wait to see more vids from ya.

I just wanted to sincerely thank you for your expertise in NJ fluke fishing. Haven't yet gotten out into the surf, but you have helped me to get started. Thank you so much! Hope we meet some day so I can thank you in person. God bless and good fishing....
God bless and tight lines bro 🤙

My man! Nice job E!
I needed this.
New to Fluke fishing. I appreciate the time you take to explain your tips.
Thank you!
Thank you so much brother for the extremely valuable information and the way you present it! I'm from your neck of the woods or at least Long Island and I speak your language. I will take your advice to heart cuz I'm going to be doing a lot of fishing this year.
Great vid Dude....totally Jersey! Loved it! Great tips...Thanks !
Thanks for watching! 🤙
Best video so far and keep them coming!!! Would love to see this same video approach for other summer species like Kingfish, weakfish, etc…
Love the new vid! Keep them coming. Like listening to a chat with my boys.
That’s why I try to do, just keep it like a conversation with the boys! Tight lines 🤙
Great tips. And I own several of the penn pursuit 3's very underrated
Just spooled up my Pursuit IV. Cant wait to try it out next weekend.
Apparently very under rated! It’s been a good little reel to me!

Eric .Me and my husband Rich really enjoy your videos. Taught us alot on fishing. We used to fish fresh water. Now all salt .You have to be from south jersey. You make us laugh with your crazy videos. Tight lines
100% great video. thanks bro for video, i got a lot of things from you bro. One again thank you so much.
Love it bro, no other areas use bro in every sentence like we do bro love Jersey!!
Fire 🔥 video!! I be all over NJ an this year was the first year targeting fluke. I’m a bluefish man but this year I caught a bunch of keepers on sandy hook. My first year trying to fluke .
Perfect timing on this video. This vid is a sign just to me lol thank brah !!!
Awesome man! Sandy Hook definitely has a lot of nice pockets of water for fluke fishing. Trick is to get there early on a weekday. Weekends are a nightmare there
Good stuff E! Excellent tips to help everyone, the way it should be. I've learned tips and tricks from old timers through my life, therefore myself pay it forward to others who want to learn, as well. And like you said, several ways to skin a cat and we all have our own variations of what we've learned.
Tight lines brother!!
My grandfather taught me how to fluke fish…but he was very old school about it. You know the old Killie and Squid combo and slowly bring it in. Fishing has come a long way since then….and I owe UA-cam a lot for little hints and tricks. So your 100% right, this is my way f paying it forward
Very good video. I appreciate the hi energy delivery, it keeps your attention. I have been fishing for more than 60 years (I can’t believe it) but, the number one thing I learned is ‘to be successful is if you want to catch fish, you have to fish where the fish are!’ I learned it from the Boy Scouts Fishing Merit Badge book. It is absolutely the most important tip and you nailed it!!’
Thanks for putting it together. Looking forward to more.
DP 😊
Boy, I wish I had even 1/2 thee energy fishing as you have teaching. I think I am hooked.
With no chemical additives too 😂. Appreciate the comment!
Phenomenal video my man! Caught my 1st fluke of the year on your rig by my beach house in Ortley, NJ. Keep the great content coming !!
If you’re down there next weekend, I’ll be in the surf every morning and evening. Let’s rip ‘em.
Happy to hear the rig worked for you man! Catch’em up! 🤙
Hi Eric, just came from Ppint Pleasant and pulled in a few with the fluke rigs you were kind enough to make for me. Definitely had a few more solid hits, but I haven't done much fishing and still getting the hang of it. All your videos have been great for teaching me the ropes as well as inspiration to get down to the shore more often.
Say hi to the wife and kids
Thanks for checking in. It’s a feel thing. Trust me, I miss a few as well. But as you go along you’ll know when to pull the trigger on that hook set!
Great Stuff.
Great vid
Hey man, found you from the fluke rig video - tried it on the hook today and caught my first fluke from the surf!! Would love to see a future video from you for Fall Stripers off the surf. Thanks for the info and high energy!
That’s awesome man! So happy to hear you hooked up! 🤙
Watching this at the end of my LBI vacation but you are right. Lots of shorts out of the surf this week. They don't need to be keepers to be fun!
Hey bro I'm enjoying your videos. Born and raised jersey shore...hardly any fishing experience but I'm looking to start fluke fishing...im looking to start getting my 5 year old into it as well. Thanks for the tips and I look forward to learning more from you.
That was one of the most important parts…get the kids out there! My 7 year old loves it!
Great video ty
I love your videos
You are pro- guide,I’m beginner but you are sharing lots of info
I wish i can meet you one day on the beach in NJ
I’m going this weekend to IBSP and try to use your technique
I’m sorry for my English language if i made any mistakes
God Bless You brother 🐠💪🐠
Good luck out there homie! Go get’em 🤙
I was recommended your video so I clicked on it for flounder tips just to see what other people are doing. I tend to do a high low rig with hooks and live minnows. I have a ton of success. Always fishing in New Jersey usually between Ocean City and Avalon
Live minnows can kill it! I’ve seen people have a lot of success with that!
Love how your able to hook up on all the local beaches 👍🏻👍🏻 🎣🎣🏁🏁🏆🏆
PS
4:25. #TheAgonyOfDeflattie
8:42 Bubba is an awesome Bro👍🏻😇🎣
Yo I’m dying at the triple tap 😂😂😂😂 I couldn’t describe it any better. Sometimes it’s all 3 at once too
It’s something you have to feel for yourself. I took my buddy out for the first time and he described it as “machine gun”. Set too soon or too late and you might miss it. It’s a feel thing.
This is Stavros from Panama city Florida good video. Thank you
Thanks for checking in from florida! 🤙
First time watching you u done got a new subscriber brother keep up with the great videos
Thanks for the sub! Good luck on the water!
Going to Chincoteague Island Virginia in the morning. Thanks for sharing, I learned from you. Awesome dude ! Any tips for the where at Chincoteague would be awesome. (Anyone) tight lines 🤟
nice hat 🤙🏼
LBI’s finest!
We use to go gigging for flounder when we were camping at Bayou Chalon. Would get some pretty nice sizes, but you had to make sure you were not gigging a sting ray by accident.
Just found this channel. Shit the bed it’s great. Your a fantastic dad
Perfect timing.
Been waiting all year and I’ll finally be in the Ortley surf in less than 2 weeks!
Cant. F’ing. Wait!
Flights alone cost more this year than flights plus rental car in years past so I’m doing everything in the cheap- buying gear and finding deals the past couple months to cut down on costs when we’re out there. New lighter set up- 8’ med heavy Berkeley big game rod-$23 paired with a Penn Pursuit IV3000 reel $40. Got Hi/low rigs, bucktails, 4” white, chartreuse, and pink gulps, even some poppers because I always see schoolies and snappers chasing bunker around at least a couple times per trip. Taking a red-eye in, so the wife and kids will probably crash out as soon as we get in, but my ass is heading straight to the beach. I should be able to get at least an hour or two in on morning one before the lifeguards kick me out.
I’m ready.
Safe travels man! Good to see you back in Jersey!
@@FromtheSurfNJ doing my due diligence and pre-gaming. There’s a difference between the google earth, google maps, and fishbrain maps. Judging by the neighborhood construction, google maps is most current. The beach cam near where I fish is the most helpful resource of all. I’m studying it right now as the tide recedes and clearly identifying the sandbars, cuts, troughs and holes. It’s worth it’s weight in gold at the price of a rewatching commercials.
Great video man, lots of great info. Love your enthusiasm for the sport, I do think your wasting your money on fluorocarbon though 😂
Love the video's. What rod and reel would you recommend for inshore fishing?
what do you think about a circle hook with an egg sinker with a mullet or killifish? hooked through the anal fin they run and when the fluke hit it will set. its not as productive as gulp but if your lazy it works as long as the egg sinker is heavy enough
By far one of the best informative instructional Surf fishing videos. You earned a follower. I too have back pain and would like to get a very light Surf rod to cast 2-3 oz sinker half the distance to Portugal 😆 what do you recommend?
I’m no experts on rods. I just broke my Saparito Custom (they’re on IG) and got an ODM 8 footer. It’s nice, it’s light, great action….but I can’t cast nearly as far. Hit them up on IG…I paid less for the custom than I did that little 7 foot custom
Much appreciated! Thank you.
Great video. Thanks for posting. What size main line and leader do you use?
I use 30 lb because it’s stuffer and the rig I use requires that offshoot from the main line. You could get away easily with 15lb, maybe even 10, depending on how you’re fishing. I carry 30 on me at all times. It’s the all purpose lb.
Thanks
Have you tried or had any luck with the candy teasers. Just wondering. Thank you
I need a rod for surf fishing for fluke don’t want something too heavy where it doesn’t even feel like I’m fighting the fish any thoughts?
Love your videos, have had some limited success, but I notice I wasn't catching others weren't either. Just why when you hook up you reel in so fast?? I'm using my lake trout rod so it's very light gear but I've caught fluke on it can't bully fish in that's for sure. Keep up the content!!
I’ll take my time with other fish, like that big striped bass I caught…can’t just horse them in. Fluke tend to head shake a lot, and sometimes you have them barely hooked. When you real in fast a lot of times you just skate them in easy.
The seaweed is killing our IBSP fluke game. I’m clearly jigging my bucktail too fast.
Seaweed just kills everything. Nothing you can do about it but wait until the tide and the wind takes it away. But if it’s SUPER dirty but clear, you can plop down one of those shrimp on the rig I use, and then just jig it in one spot. It will get the weed on it eventually, but not was quickly as covering a lot of ground. Not optimal, but that’s what I do
Where is a good place to start fishing from the beach
Nice rod what is it and length, thanks
To your last point, the Flukemaster himself, Mr. John Skinner says hooksets are free! They don’t cost you anything. When in doubt, SET THE HOOK!
It’s definitely the truth. Best to know than to wonder!
Best pound test to use?
I use 15 on the fluke rod. But realistically you can use anything up to 30lb. Tight lines 🤙
I was fluke fishing on the surf today and my dad foul hooked a massive stingray and it jumped out of the water.
Be careful with those rays, man. Next time I catch one on video I’m going to tell the story of when I got a barb straight through the hand…with pictures
@@FromtheSurfNJ I saw 2 rays and a shark yesterday morning no more than 10-12 feet from the surf at Lot C in front of the life guard chair.
You got yo set the hook on Fluke they will shake the hook quick!
💥 BOOM 💥 SET THE HOOK!
Reason I lost a keeper 1 hour ago
This video screams Monmouth County!
"They donkey punch it..." .................. "Dad.. whats a donkey punch"?
Damn it took you long enough lol.
"Find the where then work on the how" people if there's only one thing you take away from this video, or any video.... Let this be it.
Totally agree! There’s so many ways to do this, but if you’re not in the right spot it doesn’t matter which you choose!
@@FromtheSurfNJ bro, I used alot of the your fluke tips last week in LBI on vacation and KILLED it on the beach. 🤙🤙🤙
Lmao was that a helicopter
shouldnt really drag them on the sand like that. it takes off their protective slime
dude, how about decaf. Seriously. Good stuff though, lotta truth in there.
I know 😂 but I only know one speed on camera lol
Yea yea yea, but where's the best place near the Highlands to get a good sandwich??? Whatsamadderwitchooo
Will not subscribe because you do not post any links in your description to see what you use and purchase!!!😮
Hey, I really like you, your NJ surf fishing tips, but if you could lay off the cursing (JC....Bi....F.....etc) it would help a lot!! Thanks!!
