This was my dad’s favorite dish. He was Iranian and I’m half Iranian, half American and since his passing in 2021 I have missed his cooking and traditions so much. Your channel brought me so much joy today and I’m eager to recreate these dishes and feel close to him again because of it. Thank you ❤
This is amazing. As a fellow Iranian who loves food, please do not stop making these videos. Not only are the recipes great, but Your personality adds an additional flavor and makes them even more enjoyable :)
I love persian food it is the best. The Persians seem to know what is healthy food and have known for hundreds of years. Thankyou for sharing your recipe. Off to go shopping now.
You're right. I've been lucky enough to grow up in OC, CA with a bunch of persian friends. The food is a perfect mix of delicious and healthy. And all so very different from everything else you get the world.
Salam Agha Yousef, I am sohaib from Egypt my fiancé is from Tehran and I love Persian food so much and your beautiful show have helped me how to cook a lot of authentic Persian food. Keep up the good work and may god protect. ❤️
Merci Yousef! I made this dish for the first time today, after one year of cooking Persian food for my Iranian partner. He was very impressed! I absolutely love your cooking videos, you have been a very important part of my education about Persian food, and I will be using your recipes for a very long time!
Yousef, thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. One of the hardest things in my life was moving away from my parents, I realized quickly how much I missed my dads Persian cooking. Thanks to your videos I have learned how to make many of the dishes that mean so much to my family.
Tried this recipe and it was lovely and balanced! The addition of brown sugar makes it perfect. Thank you for your videos, I can't wait to try more. Merci
THANK YOU MR. YUSEF, I WAS COOKING FESENJOON FOR MANY YEARS FOR MY HUSBAND HOSSEIN, BUT CHECKING WITH YOURS, I AM GOING TO MAKE SOME CHANGES FOLLOWING YOUR RECIPIE THAT LOOKS : DELICIOSO.
I really don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers, since your explanations are wonderful! Since I came across to your channel I only follow your advices whenever I am cooking a Persian dish! Khaili mamnon!
I am a Korean and my husband is an Iranian, he has been eating Korean foods for the last 20 years with me and it is the time for me to cook some Iranian foods for my hubby 😄😊 Thank you so much for the recipe 🙏🙏 I will make the fesenjan tomorrow for whole family of my hubby. I hope it is delicious 🙏😄
Youssef, I am so glad I found your channel. I am a 75 yr. old Italian-American woman who loves Persian food…yes..,even more than I love Italian food! (But I don’t tell my family this! ☺️) When I was in my 20’s, I knew many Iranians, lovely people. That is how I came to know Persian cuisine. But my husband and I recently retired to a very rural area in Washington state, and there aren’t any Persian restaurants within a reasonable driving distance. I loved Fesanjan, among many other fabulous Persian dishes, such as Gourmeh Sabzi, Khoresht Bey, and the rice with barberries. I want to make this beautiful Fesanjan recipe. However, several people in my family have allergies to walnuts, but not other nuts. Can Fesanjan be made with a different nut…perhaps Pecans, which are similar to walnuts? I am subscribing to your channel, and hope to find many more recipes for delicious, healthy Persian Cuisine. Merci!
I only recently tried Persian food and wanted to try cooking it. Thank you for making such an easy to follow recipe. I loved the way you explained each step! I am looking forward to cooking this and many other Persian dishes. 😁
Great video! I was introduced to Persian food by some dear Iranian friends I met through work. After bring invited to some of their family parties I decidedi had to learn to cook this food soi could have it at home more often! Got a couple of Persian cookbooks and started playing with it. Have adapted how I cook this dish from stewing on stovetop to roasting in the oven. I season my chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and onion powder and roast for around 30min in oven while I make the walnut sauce on stove. Theni pour the sauce over the chicken and continue in the oven for about another 20-30 min until it starts to darken up. A glorious dish! I have also used pecans instead of walnuts and it is just as sublime. Two of my friends have walnut allergies. (But the best part really is the tahdig!!) Nooshe joon!
I was married to a persian man and very much influenced by the persian quisene. The aroma from frinds and family kitchens was as wonderful as the taste. Beautiful food ans also healthy. The persians are very knowing what is healthy. Thanks Yusef🙂🙂🙂

Is there are reason you didn't use a food processor for the nuts? I assume that if you don't over-process so that the oil comes out, it would be ok? You have a very good manner about you and I'm so glad I found your channel

Yes, but some people like it more sour so it depends on preparation.
Can you start putting the recipes in the description of your videos?
Hi, just my older videos don’t have ingredients list in description. All new ones do. Thanks for watching 🙏🏽
Where is the easiest place to buy the pomegranate molasses? If I order from Amazon it’s costly and probably on certain of the quality. Any recommendations on the brand that is best to look for?
I make it myself when in season, but we have a handful of Persian markets nearby where I can easily get it. The brand I usually get is Sadaf.
Can we use minced meat ? Instead ?
