Great. Many of those boards have their ends hanging in the air. Solid work

I noticed while you were trimming the deck boards that you hadn’t installed any blocking to fasten the ends of the decking. Then, in the final seconds of the video the blocking suddenly appeared. How did you attach it to the rim joist?

I toe screwed the blocking to the rim and deck joist.

How do you keep the track saw from floating around while you cut? I've never used one. I also see you are eye-balling it from segment to segment. Would a chalk line have helped speed it up or has your experience shown eyeing off the rim joist is just as accurate?

The bottom of the "track" on track saws, have 3-4 rubber grip strips inset, which run the length of the track to prevent it from moving. If you don't have a track saw, you can either: 1) attach a straight edge to your circular saw frame (like angle iron or c-channel) with screws/nuts. Then you can add your own "grip" to the bottom side of the straight edge using mesh shelf liner applied with heavy duty spray adhesive or use a roll of extra thin adhesive backed neoprene rubber stripping to it. 2) The other option is to clamp a straight edge to your material so that your saw blade will align with the line you want to cut, then run your circular saw frame against the straight edge.

I used the straight edge with a pencil to line everything up. I do eyeball thing occasionally but I needed to be as accurate as possible.

I would have suggested a step on each side, that way there is no railing to block your view and not make it feel like a cage.

@@idscarpentry709 it’s an easy setting to hit by accident and I’ve seen other creators do the same by accident.
Regardless, I enjoyed the video you put out.
