Awesome video, thank you Joseph!
Thank you!
Thank you!!! Informative and interesting 👍
Thank you!
That was so realistic. Thank in advance for your clear explanation 🫡
No probs!
very nicely explained. Thanks
Thank you!
Merci, une très intéressante vidéo.
Je vais me décider pour cet écran.
Cordialement, Marcel.
Thank you.
Thanks friend.
Thanks!
Have one scheduled for delivery tomorrow before NOON, the 'I have no idea what this is' is the #1 feature I ordered this display for PbP and PIP splits the screen from multiple sources in my case work and personal laptops.
Ah! That's what that was. Thank you so much for letting me know.
I don't think this model supports any of the PiP or PbP cuz I have one and I cant figured out how to activate it. Asus website info also does not list this model as one of those that support these functions.
how is it for adobe creative clpud all apps? any ips glow? text is sharp or pixelated?
Thanks for the video, I was looking for a review of this model ✨ a question, do you need that CPU for the operation of the screen?
Not that perticular CPU, but you need a machine to output display.
@@JosephKimThank you for answering, which ones could be compatible for that screen?
@@micaelaoncebay4386 any computers with display output.
Great review! Only thing is the screen glare, any tips for resolution?
Unfortunately, other than less lights around the room, not really.
@@JosephKim thanks! I have the monitor connected to my Mac mini m2. The display is still slightly blurry. Any tips on the dimension setting I should have it on? Having issues with scaling.
Hi Joseph:
Based on your video, I just purchased the 24" inch monitor. It is simply awesome! I love it.
I would like to ask you some questions:
It looks like my computer can't handle the monitor very well. At max resolution of 1920 x 1200 I noticed that web pages ran quite slowly. I couldn't even open images on Twitter! I lowered the resolution to 1920 x 1080. I am aware that my PC is "old". It has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz processor, 16GB RAM, Win 11 64-bit, Dell 042P49 motherboard.
Until I can get a better PC, which it seems to be running fine, I wonder what would be the best resolution setup. Should I also adjust the refresh rate? Right now is at 59.95 Hz (go figure). What is an "interlaced" refresh rate?
Should I use the VGA port in the meantime? I know it won't be the same, but I need my PC to work as "normal" as possible.
Also, this monitor has a USB-B port. What in the world is that for? Maybe you could do a video explaining what all these ports are for. It would be quite beneficial for people like me.
Thanks for the help! Regards. 🤗
Hi!
Your machine is rather old, (10 years old). Whilst 1920x1200 resolution of webpage isn't something difficult to run, I suppose it may just be struggling to keep up with light tasks in general.
Lowing resolution and the refresh rate may help the performance. But, lowing refresh rate also makes the perceived speed of your machine much slower. (you just have to pick your poison) Interlaced is rather technical and is not something that I fully understand either 🤣 Also, I don't think there would be significant improvement between 1920x1200 vs. 1920x1080.
VGA or HDMI, I don't think it is going to have any performance. HDMI will be better overall since it is digital and can also transmit audio.
The USB-B port is for you to connect to your computer and the monitor. All the USB ports on the monitor now will work as the USB hub for your computer.
@@JosephKim I will "play" with the settings and see how it goes.
You are the man! Thanks so much.
Hello joseph can i ask what preset should i select if im doing adobe lightroom edit photos? Is it standard, srgb or rec.709? If I select rec.709 or srgb it’s kinda dim. Please help.
By the way nice review!
I suppose it depends on which medium you end up showing the photos on. Both are screen standards and would not really be really close to what you will have on the prints for example. Things may appear a bit dim as those modes aren't meant to over-process the the colors.
So one simple question is the picture quality better than Gigabyte m27q ? I am confused between these two monitors
Picture quality on monitors are combination of things. I don't think it is a simple question.
Looking at this exact model for the Mac mini I just purchased. Is this a good fit for the Mac mini?
I think it would be if you need that color!
Hey, i just bought this monitor and my question is that why the USB ports on the monitor are not detecting my peripherals like my keyboard, mouse etc?
Did you connect the USB-C port to your machine? That is your upstream
Then may I use only usb c2c cable for both displaying and charging laptop?
Depends on your laptop, but yes. I basically did that.
It’s like the Concept D in many way.
Oh I did not know there was concept D monitors. Thanks for letting me know!
The Acer concept D is good for any designer that has to work in color calibrations. I do textile and 3D arts. Both monitors are superior for art.
@@katyschildmeyerksapparelde2441 I like that!
what the main difference between this and ASUS PA278QV? They looks same to me and cheaper
The stand looks different, and I don't think that one supports USB-C PD and daisy chaining.
What do you think about this one compared to PA279CV witch has higher resolution but lower hz?
Between 75hz and 60hz, I don't think you will notice the difference. I feel packing 4k into 27 inch is a bit wasteful though.
@@JosephKim Thank you for your answer! I will probably go for 4k but will consider a bigger panel. Unfortunately I don't get to try these monitors before purchasing around here.
@@JG-ke7gj understood. I prefer 1440p since it scales better at 27 inch and 4k puts additional strain on your machine.
@@JosephKim I totally get the scaling issue and it's possible that I would be happy enough with 1440p, I'd have to compare it side by side to really get a feel for the differences. Thanks again.
@Mateusz Graczyk I agree with the refresh rate. I will take 75hz over 60hz any day. But it has been somewhat challenging to find a good monitor with 144hz, and a reasonable price.
May I know how much it costs for PC and Monitor, I'm still considering choosing between a setup like yours or a Mac mini with proart display.
At least I want to spend less money with equivalent quality, thank you
Sorry, I can't tell you how much it is for the monitor as it was loaned by Asus at the time. For the PC, the price will vary quite a bit since you are building it yourself.
@@JosephKim Approximately..?
@@YogurtBuah my PC parts now is about 2k USD. It would be cheaper with Max Mini I think :)
@Mateusz Graczyk yeah, but only if someone is as tech savvy as you are :)
Can you suggest me which monitor better for me?ASUS ProArt Display PA328QV 31.5 Inch 2K WQHD Dual HDMI, DisplayPort USB, Professional Monitor/ OR/ LG 32UN650-W 32 Inch UltraFine 4K UHD IPS Dual HDMI DP Gaming Monitor. For this two monitor which one should i buy. Thank you
I personally use LG non-professional monitor. Good enough for me!
Will the USB Mode switched to USB 2 after restarting the monitor?
I'm not sure what that means.
I want the monitor for work (excel, software development), for photography, for see movies and for play video games, in that order. do you recommend it?
Oh yeah! For photography. If not, you can get something cheaper.
Did you buy it? how is the text clarity? Is it blurry? Some people are noticing the blurry text. I will be using it for programming. Thanks
@@tapasdatta6222 No, i didn't, i bought the Aoc CQ27G2 and it works fine for me. I use it for ps5, work, movies, etc and its very good. For programming its excellent too. I recommend it (the aoc).
How is the general reading and typing experience on this monitor. Is the text crisp or fuzzy ?
It was quite crisp. That usually just depends on its resolution and size.
@@JosephKim I just brought this monitor today, but when connected to MBP 14” it looks kinda fuzzy. Could you help me with the settings that you used on your setup ?
@@abhishekranna5430 sounds like the MBP is setting it's resolution incorrectly. Make sure not to 'mirror' the display and extend.
@@JosephKim I am using it in extended mode but I did some reading and found that MacOS has some issue scaling 1440p displays.
Is there any other suggestions you could offer ?
How does text look on this monitor, is it displayed clearly?
Yes!
hello, can you help: how to lower it? I couldn't find any info)
Lower what?
Does it come with a thunderbolt USB-C Cable in the box?
I don't think it is Thunderbolt cable, but it does come with USB-C to USB-C cable.
Does this or have you done any firmware updates on it? If so, is it pretty easy to do. Just read somewhere in a review that they had issues with a firmware update. So I didn’t click purchase. 😬
I didn't have to. :/
@@JosephKim great! Couldn’t find a different monitor close to this price. I’ll pull the trigger and grab the 1440p for my 2019 16in MacBook Pro. Thank you!
My pleasure!
Just got mine in today. Looks great!
@@snappingwith_pancho I'm excited for you!
How does this compare to your existing 27 inch monitors?
It is superior. I just don't know if I can afford one.
@@JosephKim Are you sponsored by Asus? It's not superior at all.
@@trollmeister69 I'm not sponsored. But it is much better than monitors that I currently use (cheaper)
Is CPU mandatory - can we use Asus TUF gaming laptop connection for this monitor?
I think you are asking if the Desktop is necessary? No, you can connect your laptop.
@@JosephKim - My query was i have a asus proart Monitor (without CPU) - will it work well with only Laptop connection?
@@ajith3436 sorry, I don't understand. Your laptop has a CPU. No monitor has a CPU.
Is this better than the PA278QV?
I can't say as I have not tried that model. On a short search, it appears that it has no USB-C port
what about the sound of speakers
No speakers on this monitor. - Edit, it appears that this monitor does have built-in speakers. I did not know this. I am sorry.
Whats the difference with PA279cv?
Not sure. I'd think that is later version than this one?
asus proart pa278cv vs benq pd2705q or may be ThinkVision P27h-20
I need to purchase the monitor to connect to Mac studio and would-be mainly used for web development and app development (coding)
Or do you suggest some other monitor in this range
Thanks in advance
I've not owned thinkvision monitors, so I can't speak for them. But if you are doing those tasks, you can get much cheaper monitor?
@@JosephKim Can you provide some alternative cheaper monitors, I need atleast 27inch 2K IPS monitor with USB C and connecting easily with MAC Studio
Thanks in advance
For the specs that you require, I'm not aware of the model that's a lot cheaper. PA278CV definitely fits all the bill.
@@JosephKim proart pa278cv vs benq pd2705q are costing almost same, so confused
thanks for the reply
You have reviewed both of the monitors, which would you prefer
Hey Joseph, Is it good to play PC games on it as well, there's no screen lag is there?
Define lag. Because all screens have 'delays'. This is not the fastest monitor, but it wasn't really slow either.
@@JosephKim oh I returned it to Amazon. And got PA279CV model
This is an entry level monitor for semi_professional amateurs.
It is not for people who is color professionals, but I feel it will be great for people who does somewhat color related work such as graphics or photography.
is it sharper than lg?
That just depends on its resolution.
@Mateusz Graczyk yeah, you are correct. the haziness can be improved. But it is hard to 'measure'.
for its price they put a very old school power switch hahahaha but over all its nice
:)
adobe rgb is less than 70% in this
