Height make it the hardest it can possibly be without messing up form or injuring yourself find out the reps by doing it until you cant do it anymore without messing up form or injuring yourself
For explosive speed, you will likely be looking for more lower body power (so movements like the power clean/hang clean, snatch, etc. If you do not know how to do these movements and/or you do not have the equipment for them, box jumps are going to be your best bet). For overall speed, it might sound counterproductive at first but you want to increase your lower body strength. Strength is the foundation of power and power is needed to increase your velocity. I know it has been 9 months since you made this comment and I hope you have made progress since then. If you have not been trying these out, I would look into them if I were you.
@@samskott2344 i actually have improved a lot on my explosive speed i actually just ran a 4.8 on my last 40 and i haven’t been doing as much power cleans but much much on my box jumps and i have been doing a lot of other things
@@mop3138 that's excellent! A 4.8 40 at 13-14 years old is very impressive. Keep doing what you're doing, stay hungry, and you could be running some crazy fast 40s by your senior year.
Dane, I almost broke the 60m World Record the other day.. How do I get off the app and get closer to 1v1 training... 😂 Mans need help if I am ever going to make it to the Olympics 💯

Love that chaos jump 🤙🏽
Awesome! Great exercise for stability and power 💪
To develop the fast twitch explosive muscle fibres, should the primary focus with the box jumps be on number of reps OR the height of the box?

Dane,

when do you suggest to do this? in the beginning of your workout?
Explosives/plyometrics should usually be done when the nervous system is rested. So yes, at the start.
Dane got some serious hops! That’s a powerful-assed big dude. Pun intended
