Well, good luck to you - you will need it. It may look good now, but it will not last. The next crises will always come and stop you dead in your tracks. After 36 years as an airline pilot for 14 airlines - including four majors like Pan Am, I retired at United barely able to get off reserve on the most junior airplane and most junior base. (BTW, they totally ignored my retirement flight. They would not give me a choice of a trip and said if I wanted to have SOMEONE from the Chief Pilot office greet me, I would have to put in a request, and if someone was free at the time, they would send him out. Not like in the movies.) Everything depends on your luck and timing. You never get rewarded for your experience. And don't think this video is typical of your actual trips. I can't remember the last time ANYONE on a layover went out to dinner together. The Flight Attendants are all slam-clicks. Most of the time you don't even go to the same hotel. This video is like propaganda. I know you don't want to believe that, but you will see...

Swayne this is super inspirational. I shared it with my 17 y/o daughter who is planning to become a pilot. She is dual enrolled in college as a HS junior. She should graduate with an AA and her PPL. This video will help light the fire of emotions she needs to keep her motivated. She hopes to travel someday and this proves aviation will help you do that. Thanks for making this it helps others even when you don't know it. Sincerely, a very appreciative Father. Steve D

My dad worked for United for 38 years as a mechanic so I fly United all the time. My first time flying 757-300 was from Honolulu to LAX. Usually fly 777 to and from Hawaii. Never flew on the 767 that I can recall but did a lot of traveling on the 757 200

Being a person terribly anxious / uncomfortable with flying, as the "lack of control" I have when I drive a car, it's nice to see how comfortable pilots are flying. Any tips to getting over flight anxiety? Making a video might be good!

I've had a passion and urge to become an airline pilot but, due to lack of funding never pursued it. It's real awesome to watch your videos and practically live thru the experiences with you. Keep doing well, it's clear you were born for it!

Swayne my friend (may I call you that?). I have been viewing all of your vlogs since the beginning and to see you in that stunning uniform, the new set of wings and flying my ultimate favorite ship, the 757 just tells me you have incredible drive, know what you want and how to get there. Part of my family heritage is from Norway (back to the early 1800s) so thanks for the vids on that country. I never doubted you nor your skills and knowledge from the first PF and PM flying days on the Embraer's and now you are still climbing that personal and professional trail. I am so proud of you and your vids have given me much joy during some of the worse down time recently. Did Sam shoot any of this video? Know you will be in the left seat soon enough and I do hope I can catch a United flight with you in the 'front office' at some point. Be well and continue to fly safe.
