I got the SNES, N64, GameCube in my life, each console was very significant for similar reasons. SNES had Killer Instinct, SMW, DKC, SM Allstars, SM Kart, Fzero, Chrono Trigger, many others. N64 had Goldeneye, SM64, OoT, Pokemon Stadium, Snap, the first Smash Bros, many others. GameCube had Soul Calibur 2, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, others that were personal to me but maybe not others, there were some 007 games, a Zoids game ,Baten Kaitos. Nintendo consoles may not have sold the most compared to Playstation but the libraries had some exclusives that shot them over the moon as far as overall gameplay experiences.
I remember being in Walmart with my parents in 2005 and being in Walmart ND buying the gamecube package with Mario party 7. It came with the blue controller. That would be my only game system until 2013. I love the fucking Gamecube man. Kept me outta trouble

The game was totally stunning. I wish the game should be remastered on future consoles so that Mario fans will get to experience it again.

nice list! My 5 favorite Gamecube games are: 1. Super Smash Bros Melee 2. Mario Kart Double Dash 3. Mario Party 4 4. Lego Star Wars 2: Original Trilogy 5. Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
Starfox Assault went beyond underrated. So many people have never experienced it or heard of it. Really hope Nintendo explores that direction some more because Starfox is unfortunately becoming a dying franchise when it used to be one of Nintendo's premier properties
The reviews for Assault were brutal and critics have consistently been harsh on it because of the foot missions. As someone that played the game when it first came out, I can attest to it being an exceptional entry in the franchise. Just as you said, it’s sad to see the property fizzle out over the years because Star Fox still has incredible potential to be tapped into.
Most of us have played most of these games and enjoyed the early 2000’s remembering playing these games, to me I played most of them and would love to see them come back onto the Switch and future consoles
The irony of the GameCube is I chose the PS2 for Christmas because it’s graphics were “so much better.” Now here we are and the GameCube holds up so much better than the XBox and PS2. It is super underrated. Also, as someone who consider Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door as my favorite game of all time, I appreciate seeing it get more love than most lists!
how could you think the ps2 had better graphics? it was pretty obvious even back then gamecube had the better graphics. it came out a year later. the reason people didnt want it was kiddy games.
@@joshbrucks Agree to disagree on that one. The entire dialogue I heard surrounding the console wars is that PS2 and XBOX had more realistic and mature games. Almost every game that portrayed people in the sports genre were considered superior in those two consoles as well. Those two tried to push the limits of the graphics and in so doing dated them as time went buy. The the more conservative approach to graphics by GameCube has led to a greater longevity.
I’m from the 1980s I’m lucky and blessed to see and have it all in gaming that whole sixth generation line of consoles was perfection at its finest from Sega Dreamcast to Sony PlayStation 2 to Nintendo GameCube to Microsoft Xbox great times
I’d like to give an honorable mention to all four Mario Party games. This was where the series reached its zenith. Especially 6 & 7, which introduced a revamped orb system and a day and night cycle for all boards.
My favorite GameCube games are: Animal Crossing: Population Growing, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Party 5, Super Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GX, Kirby Air Ride, & Mario Party 4! 😊
About Animal Crossing... Don't forget that you can visit other villages through the use of an additional memory card and using the train to travel to the other village. If you wanted to show off your village to someone else you could just bring your memory card and let someone else visit via the second memory slot. Don't forget, you need someone to visit via the memory card to upgrade Tom Nook's store (Nookway to Nookington's).
GameCube collecting is pricey right now but some of my favorites was Wind Waker, Paper Mario TTYD, Starfox Adventures, Mario Sunshine & Metal Arms Glitch in the System
I definitely agree with Melee being the prime game for Gamecube because it really revolutionized fighting games for Nintendo and maybe various other gaming companies on finding the right formula to an amazing fighting game.
The remake of resident evil and Zero were my favorites. You could even play code veronica, 2 & 3 & 4 on the system! Bieng a resident evil fan and owning a gamecube was simpily bliss.
It is one of the best horror games OF ALL TIME. And is a shame that it's sales do not reflect this. Also a shame it hasn't received a modern remake/remaster from Nintendo, or another company. I may be picking it up again and replaying it for the Halloween season :)

First video game I ever played was LOTR Two Towers. I know it’s probably not as good as most of these other games on this list but man oh man that game was probably my favorite! Sonic Heroes, Spider-Man 2 definitely deserve a spot on here if not atleast honorable mentions
Mario and the thousand year door is my favorite game cube game ever. I beat it three times. Still playing this game. Highly recommend this game for those that like Mario and RPGs.
Would like to throw a mention for Baten Kaitos here. Beautiful visuals, rocking soundtrack, unique gameplay, and truly a hidden gem of the Gamecube's JRPG library.
I loved both games and the soundtrack and art style for both are beautiful, seriously underrated; after all these years I'm still hoping for a Baten Kaitos 3 and a remake of the previous 2 games
Also I want to give a shoutout to one game I don't think anyone would think of: Wario World. That game has SO much action and I believed it was the game that helped defined what Wario is even more. This is also the game that helps properly show off what a physical powerhouse Wario with it's wide diverse of levels and bosses. The game is in the shorter side but there was never a moment I did not have fun playing this game even against the more cheap and unfair bosses.
That one and pac man world 2. It’s about 4 and half hours of game play each of you’re not trying to collect everything. The final boss in pac man is insanely hard even when I played it again a while back
Pikmin 2 might a contender for best sequel ever. The mechanics seeing such improvements, the funny characters, the incredible levels and environments, its such a blast. Mario Sunshine is easily one of the best Mario games, the levels and soundtrack are so amazing. Love that cry for Prime 4, i feel that. Prime 3 is given grief for being “too easy” if you got good at the Phazon mechanic, but it was such a blast imo. Finally had voice acting in a Nintendo game, and it was pretty good. Loved the characters, didnt get to see much of the bounty hunters before they got turned, but it was enough to for sure make me sad that i had to end them. Paper Mario was such a great surprise when i played it. Hadnt played the original, and just kinda stumbled across it in my mom’s game collection (big nintendo fan :) ) but i was shocked at its length, the entire game i just kept going “Theres more?! I have like 20 hours on this playthrough and i dont feel like im near the end!” And every character was funny and a joy to see. Luigi’s mansion needs no words, literal masterpiece. Same for Wind Waker.
Luigi’s Mansion was the first console game I ever owned. It was the second game period I ever owned (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was my first game ever). GameCube is very special to me. The intro to this video almost made me break a man tear.
Link in soul caliber 2 was cool and while there's no post released ports of GC F-zero we do have the N64 F-zero on the NSO expansion which is also a fun game.
I remember playing games like Mario sunshine and Mario kart and being so amazed you could see other levels/courses in the distance of other levels and you could eventually go there. Big difference from today like Red Dead and BOTW. little me would be blown away.
Star Fox Assault, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2, Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, Super Monkey Ball, Kirby Air Ride, Pikmin 2, F-Zero GX, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart Double Dash, Pokemon Colosseum, and Super Smash Bros Melee.
Currently playing mario party 6 on the gamecube as I watch this video😂 kinda surprised I didn't see any mario party game on this list because the mario party games for the gamecube quite honestly are the best ever (mainly 5 and 6) in that series
Man the days where all my friends would sleep over and we'd play the heck out of smash bros. About 600 hrs in a month is crazy!!! Unlocking mewtwo was such an achievement.
Unlike some other consoles, Gamecube has a game library that easily fills out a top 20 list. Luigi's Mansion is my favorite. I remember first experiencing it at a K-Mart kiosk as a pre-teen and found it extraordinarily atmospheric. The cover art is also burned into my memory!
I’m so glad to see Luigi’s Mansion getting the respect it’s deserves. Was such an amazing games that never overstays it’s welcome. A lot of people seem to forget about it.
The GameCube we had belonged to my brother because I had no interest but when we moved houses we needed to wait for cable to be installed so my brother told me to just play Paper Mario, I did and OMG I LOVED IT!! I got addicted. It was just amazing. Unfortunately it was the only game I played on GameCube.
20, and 18 were some of my favorite games. If only Game Cube did not go out of business. They Should've added Ultimate Muscle: Legends vs. New Generations to this list.
The Gamecube was an amazing console. Back in that time it was a powerhouse that could compete with microsofts xbox. So much good games. Personally I love The Wind Waker and Super Mario Sushine. Played a lot of spiderman 2 in it too. The only game i wanted to play but never could was The Thousand Year Door, one day im gonna play it.
I'm so happy Kirby Air Ride made the list. It's one of the most unique games I've played. The city trial, the legendary machines - Dragoon and Hydra were amazing. Plus the array of unique cars. As for Super Smash Bros, I expected it to be number one haha! I probably spent my entire summer playing that game.

The best generation of gaming, God I loved the Dreamcast and the Gamecube.
First video game I ever played was LOTR Two Towers. I know it’s probably not as good as most of these other games on this list but man oh man that game was probably my favorite!
Sonic Heroes, Spider-Man 2 definitely deserve a spot on here if not atleast honorable mentions
Actually a really good list. Lots of these are missed by others.
I'm from the GameCube era. It was
AWWEEESSSSOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Top 3 gamecube games: baten kaitos for sure!
The final boss in pac man is insanely hard even when I played it again a while back
Wide diversity of levels? You're smoking crack
@@glungusgongus Oh wow. "Smoking crack" jokes. Haven't heard those before...

Double Dash is my favourite Mario Kart game
Tony Hawk 4 Pro Skater was the first game ive ever played on the GameCube!!! 💯🔥 LOVED THE GAMECUBE ERA A LOT, CHILDHOOD MADE!!!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Pokémon Colosseum or XD Gale of darkness. Maybe they were sleeper hits to me lol
No they were both great games
Star Fox Assault, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2, Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, Super Monkey Ball, Kirby Air Ride, Pikmin 2, F-Zero GX, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart Double Dash, Pokemon Colosseum, and Super Smash Bros Melee.
This year, I finally beat Super Mario Sunshine on Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Switch. What a fun experience.
So much nostalgia from watching this. Great childhood memories
GameCube will always be my favorite console ever 🙌🏽🔥❤️....
Same!
Zelda Wind Waker and Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door are my favorite GameCube games hands down
Please don’t forget the Ocarina of Time: Master Quest
Currently playing mario party 6 on the gamecube as I watch this video😂 kinda surprised I didn't see any mario party game on this list because the mario party games for the gamecube quite honestly are the best ever (mainly 5 and 6) in that series
Man the days where all my friends would sleep over and we'd play the heck out of smash bros. About 600 hrs in a month is crazy!!! Unlocking mewtwo was such an achievement.
Battalion wars is one of my favorite Nintendo games of all time. I'd love to see that one come to the switch.
Bro yesss
Gamecube is pretty good back in 2000s.
Bravo. Great list. Very impressive. Every game I would have put on this list was on it, plus great games I forgot about.
gamecube is hands down the best console ever.
Pokemon collosseum and XD deserved to be on this list.
Great list! GameCube is one of my favorites during my childhood.
I’m so glad to see Luigi’s Mansion getting the respect it’s deserves. Was such an amazing games that never overstays it’s welcome. A lot of people seem to forget about it.
I recently purchased this game and I am so frigging glad that I did. I can't believe that I slept on this game for so long. Shame on me
The GameCube we had belonged to my brother because I had no interest but when we moved houses we needed to wait for cable to be installed so my brother told me to just play Paper Mario, I did and OMG I LOVED IT!! I got addicted. It was just amazing. Unfortunately it was the only game I played on GameCube.
I feel Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, Viewtiful Joe, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and the most notably Custom Robo deserve to be on this list.
they forgot to add that melee birthed an entire e-sports community that still lives on today, thanks to the controls. Kind of a big deal
It also birth the most toxic community to this day, so is that really a win?
I love playing Super Mario Sunshine.
I know it may be an obscure game, but I loved Skies of Arcadia: Legends! It remains one of my favorite RPGs to this day!
I believe it would be a lock for this list had it not been launched on the Sega Dreamcast first.
Best game of all time. I play it every couple of months.
Pokemon Gale of Darkness should’ve been on here.
Tales of Symphonia was my all time favorite game for the GameCube!
This game should of made the list
@@foaleyperformance8202 Agreed
Gamecube times were the best times! I played it so much as a kid..im crying right now 😭😭😭😭
20, and 18 were some of my favorite games. If only Game Cube did not go out of business. They Should've added Ultimate Muscle: Legends vs. New Generations to this list.
My favorite GameCube game would have to be Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. A lot of happy memories from that game.
Suuuuuper Smmaaaaahhh Broooosssthhherrrrrss Meeeleeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!😎💪🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥
Glad FE:PoR made the list. Should be top 10 though!
You can actually emulate it with a gamecube controller or other controller.
Dolphin emulator I'm playing eternalmdarkness at 4k right now
Luigi's Mansion is kinda like a Nintendo version of GhostBusters using a vacuum and Luigi. I like it! 😁
Skies of Arcadia legends is one of my favorites on GC. Ya it's a Dreamcast port but still :)
I would have added Viewtiful Joe, as well as Harvest Moon: It’s A Wonderful Life
I use to love playing Super Smash Bros. Melee on the GameCube all the time.
Same
