  • If you been in a long-standing pattern of relationships where you're doing most of the giving, continuously bending over backwards to satisfy a partner who does all the taking with little to no appreciation for you, then you may be codependent. In this video, I will explain ten reasons why you may have developed codependent traits and tendencies… these factors will make you highly susceptible to narcissistic relationships, be they romantic or otherwise. At the end of this video, explain WHY codependents repeatedly fall for the narcissist’s toxic tactics.

This is very deeply psychological stuff to understand. I think there are ‘natural, genetically born narcissists and of course, all the narcissists that are created..it has been going on in mankind from the beginning.. it’s all about control. I don’t think this was a diagnosis in the 50s and in the movies of old it’s so clear in so many of the characters. It’s so good to know about..but how do you teach a young child about it..to protect from its soul destroying attack? Talk about it is one way, just make sure you aren’t talking to a narcissist..

Watched maybe 50 of your videos on narcissism (I know it’s bad to obsess over this) but now I found this video and I’ve just switched from psychoanalysing her, to picking apart myself. I attributed me falling for narcissists to my good nature, but everything you said in this video applies to myself. I think you’ve changed my life starting today. Thank you!

As someone who has finally begun the process of breaking away from an abusive narcissist, your videos have greatly helped me begin to understand why. For far too long, I remained in an extremely toxic marriage because I thought "This is just how relationships are," or "If this is happening, I must deserve it." Now I must begin the long process of healing and trying to rebuild my sense of self and boundaries that were torn down. Your videos have given me a great place to start from, especially this one. I never realized I was codependent, until it was laid out simply and directly like this. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I think a lot of us were. The Silent/Greatest Generation children passed drama to Baby Boomers who passed it on to X/Y kids who are now passing it on to Zoomers.
We all need healing and knowing ia half the battle.

[...& financial abuse, per the same reasons mentioned, also occurring in certain insider instances -- in both men & women (unsuspecting targets suffering in silence) -- increasingly happening to more women with careers, higher levels of education, earning more than their male partners, parentified-child in parental-servitude, or even the sole breadwinner (while the parasitic charming 'hobosexual' non-monetary 'transactional narcissist' (wolf in sheep's clothing, playing victimhood, using plausible deniable excuses) finagles to remain jobless; or on the flip side, the controlling narcissist with the money makes others financially dependent (seemingly ideal leisurely stay-at-home Mom or Mr. Mom), weaponizes $, denies access to $, or is unsupportive towards their isolated partner's vocational/educational aspirations, etc.)]

18 years in recovery and ACOA recently. Yup I check alot of the boxes. Hence reason I love a good fixer upper for validation. Guess it's time to look at past trauma. Currently working out of toxic relationship that I hung onto too long. Intelligent enough to know it was toxic but self will ego codependency allowed me to justify minimize rationalize and deny. And sadly not my first rodeo of this type. Yellow warning lights and I still drive thru at 60 mph. Despite caution lights.
Upside avoided marriage And aware enough to say I was test driving relationship. Still would have liked it too work
Awareness is one thing but need to follow with acceptance and action.
    Thanx for what you do

If you have low self esteem and the narcissist who's interested in you is very attractive, it's very hard to reject or move on from.

All the more if you move to Latin American country and fall for one of the many pretty ladies. Good luck figuring out motives

Could I be codependent due to previous relationships where I was dumped/broken up with and never given any reason why? I don’t know how else I would be. I guess you don’t have to be a codependent to fall for a narcissist.

Alot of it describes Asian culture as well. This shit behavior happens all over the world. The whole world is broken, not just America. If you are disgruntled with Americans, then don't live here. Find somewhere better, where there are no narcissists, borderlines, codependents, or dysfunctional people of any kind 😂
