I found your channel just a few days ago and i’ve been binge watching your videos. I LOVE your taste in books, the way you talk about them, the really calm vibes. You feel like a friend. Love from Montreal ❤
i remember the chokehold that the selection series had on me back in high school lol. i think there's also a novella called the prince & the guard? plus, a bigger novella collection which includes a prequel about maxon's parents, if i remember it correctly. anyway, i want to let you know that i absolutely adore your videos, emma!
The way you constantly bring attention to fiction books with the theme of memory warms the little part of my heart that dreams high about one day writing a thesis on exactly how said theme is explored in literature ❤ As always I absolutely loved the video and the fact you are going to spam us with more just made my day! Wish you all the best things 😊
@emmiereads question when is book review of the vampire lestat by ann rice comeing its like a year since your last vampire chronicles book review just wondering i know you say last November that you where read it and like it and was to finish? Hope you answer just try to figure out what going on with that book review
@emmiereads question where is the vampire lestat book review video just wondering becouse it's been year since your last vampire chronicles by Ann Rice book review I know last November you say your read it and was also finished with i am just ask and try to figure what go with that?
You never never never ever ever ever have to apologize for spamming your face and vlogs on the internet. So glad you’re back. I’m sorry you’ve been experiencing so much pain recently; I am empathizing with your physical pain with my emotional pain 💕 we will overcome!
Anyone else got worried when Emmie didn’t post for 2 weeks 👀? This channel is like a hug, so please don’t apologize for spamming us won’t your videos. Having a video by you to watch everyday or almost everyday is going to the best 🥰
Have you read All Quiet on the Western Front? I finished it recently and CRIED. It's devastating and full of truth, which makes it hurt even more. They say if you like A Farewell to Arms, then you'll like this book too.
Sorry if this is already somewhere in the comments but a lot of the themes and plot points you discuss finding interesting in Catfish Rolling are also discussed in A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, but by contrast it is executed/integrated beautifully! Highly recommend.
the lead’s name being ‘america singer’ in the selection and her being an american singer very much so gives off the exact same vibes as ‘lily blossom bloom’ the florist.
I highly recommend the book Ronia the robbers daughter by Astrid Lindgren for the book world tour ❤ (when you’re “back in Europe”) Or Kallocain by Karin Boye if you don’t want something YA
Catfish rolling sounds like it has similar themes with Tale for the time being which I just read and it blew me away!!! So big recommendations for that one
Omg I'm so so excited for the video on the selection series!! Loved it when I was in middle school (but I've heard the plot is kinda dumb but come on I was just thirteen so it's a comfort series for me) and can't wait to see how you like it!
Hey Emma! A Saturday Night surprise. Enjoyed the Around the World Book of the Month in March, looking forward to April's selection. Happy Easter to you!
Tram 83 sounds fascinating, i'm already hooked! Also, thanks for the video. This is so far a work-filled, disappointing easter week and you always cheer me up 😊
Loved the haul! You'll have amazing readings, Emma! Thank you for the beautiful images of nature! I'm glad Calcifer and Grendel are liking each other! 🐈🐈💖📚✨
I am definitely coming back to write down the other african books once i get home. I definitely want to read more from that part of the world. Nervous Conditions was interesting. I still don’t know how much I liked it but it was worth reading.
I have a long commute and try to make the best of my driving time by listening to audiobooks. I found your channel after "reading" The Picture of Dorian Gray" recently. Glad to be here, and I'm looking forward to hearing about great books from you.
hey emma, so happy to see a new video!❤ all the new books seem so exiting. i'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with health stuff. i hope you get your answers! how are you doing mentally through it all?
The Selection was such a funny silly time back in the day. If you're looking for another YA series for a video The Lunar Chronicles would be fun if you haven't read those. Loved the vid!
Missed you so much ! I'm so happy you're back and I hope you get answers and solutions soon for your health problems! Please take care of yourself, Calcifer and Grendel ❤
For your World Tour Book Club, please consider some Czech writers ! Whether it should be Kundera, Havel or Capek, but my personal recommendation would be Hrabal (Too Loud a Solitude).
Welcome back! Sorry you haven't been feeling well. ♥ You can get sealers for diamond art, so if you want to dull down the sparkle just look for brands that people complain about. Or apply an extra-thick coating.
Maybe you could do one long video of reading the entire Raven cycle series, spoilers and all. I think a lot of us would die to watch that and gush about the amazing-ness of the series🤗
I love the selection in all its badness and i even have two additional books with short stories lol. Cant let myself give them away so the series sits proudly on my shelves lmao
I can't wait for the Selection video :DD Even as a kid I knew that those books were kinda trash, but they were so fun to read. At least as long as it was just silly reality tv.
I loved Nervous Conditions when I read it a few years ago, and ended up buying the rest of the trilogy. I also have The Beautyful Ones..on my TBR, along with Devil on the Cross. I’ve now added Even if These Tears… So exciting!
Love your vlogs! I hope you get to move soon/ish to a place you are happier :) I get you about the climate change and grieving it. Where I live doesn't snow (well it did in the past but not in living memory. Now for the last 4 years we haven't even had a frost. The seasons are becoming harder to discern it seems every year we are wondering if we are going to have a "late winter" which instead becomes an "early spring" it's means certain bugs like wasps don't get killed off which is needed, it means certain trees and bulbs which need the cold don't get it - it gets frightening the more I think about it.
Heyy Emma! I've been so busy lately and hadn't had a moment to relax with one of your vlogs but this one was so nice! It reminded me that I need to be making more time for calm and reading like this 🍃
Idk but i want to tell you that I play your videos when im reading 🫂 its just keeps me calm. I just want to be your friend like this💖 you are my dream bestie 💗 loveeee you soooo muuuuccchh
omg looking forward to your 'the selection' series video!! i remember enjoying the series when i was younger, but i reread recently and i dont enjoy it as much 😂
I read the second book by Tsitsi Dangarembga without knowing there was a part 1. I loved it! I want to read Nervous Conditions now, too. If you like it check out Part 2. (Don't know the english title as I read it in German.)
So nice to see you back, we missed you on here 💛 there is just something special about your channel and about your content, and I can't wait for the spam! Take care 🌱
Love the coasters…missed you last week. In 2024, my read books were: Anna Karenina; The Count of Monte Cristo; The Giver of Stars; Icefields; Park Avenue Summer; Yellowface; The Women; Maiden Voyage; Killers of the Flower Moon; Madame Bovary and What my Cat Has Taught me About Life. Presently reading, The Tale of Two Cities. Love Dickens. I also have Notability and love it.
Missed you Edit: omg i really was worried over your break, I hope you feel better soon and I’m really happy for the spam coming, I could never complain about that😤💗
Incidentally, I am now too reading a book by an African author. Safiya Hussaini Tungar Tudu “I, Safiya”. It’s an autobiography, a rather sad story of Nigerian muslim woman. Happy Easter, Emma!
Whenever you reach Hungary in your reading challenge, I highly reccommend choosing Journey by Moonlight by Antal Szerb! I think you would love it after your trip to Italy:)
excited for the video spam haha, I'll finish the selection series to get ready for when you drop that vlog, I think I only got to the second one too or maybe the third one I don't remember. Glad you had a great time in Jasper :)
already watched all of your latest videos and i’m trying to refrain myself from watching this but failed miserably 🙂 i just could not NOT watch your new video immediately after it was uploaded 🥺
oh my god yesss you're gonna make a video like the shatter me one I love those kind of videos , also I would love to see you solve a murder mystery soon, we missed that:((
u mentioned african lit so i'd like to recommend a ghanaian book called homegoing by yaa gyasi !! absolutely stellar work. tells about the story of two sisters, one of whom was sold to be a slave and the other became the wife of a slaveowner. it is a generational saga, so it also tells u about the life of their children and how the world is changing around them. pleaseeeeee pick it up !!
When you got out that box set I got excited for a moment because I thought it would be The Infernal Devices! But now I'm looking forward to reading the Selection series through you since I also only got to the first two books years ago. Btw that bracelet looked really cute for the second it existed 😂 Glad to have you back! :)
Maybe you would like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Atelier of Witch Hat and Call the Name of the Night as well? Those are a few of my favorite manga :))
Can you do a video where you summarise and read the first page of each book club possibility before we vote because it’s hard to know if we will actually like the book before these first page intros to see the flow of the writing
you're my comfort person fr
Same
real!!
🥺🤎

Your book taste is really different from mine but I love the way you talk about books its so beautiful
I found your channel just a few days ago and i’ve been binge watching your videos. I LOVE your taste in books, the way you talk about them, the really calm vibes. You feel like a friend. Love from Montreal ❤
In regard to your big YA series videos, I’m not sure if you’ve read them yet, but I’d love to see you do the Cinder series!

Im choosing Frankenstein in Baghdad for my bookclub this week because of your recommendation ❤
Your hair looks so elegant in this style! Like long face framing layers but still sleek.
Notability is amazing! It’s really upped my note taking for my degree. I’m so happy you are working with them.
