I wish you posted every day all the time, it's such a treat!! Makes me feel like I'm getting to hang out with a friend every day 🥰
Looks like Wordsworth had a glow-up
For anyone interested in Sea of Ruin you should know it’s a dark romance and I really recommend looking up the trigger warnings before reading.
Yikes! I just looked at the trigger warnings. 🙈.
I came here to say this. It definitely has some situations that some people might not be okay with.
Sea of Ruin is a very dark romance that has an ending you might not expect. Check triggers before reading.
Three videos in three days is awesome. Thank you Emma! You look so beautiful with your pink ribbon.
Emma is blessing us with these daily videos! Sending you loads of love and hugs 💕 hope you're taking care of yourself 🫂
This edition of Notes from underground is beautiful! Emma, you look gorgeous wearing this pink ribbon! 💗
who is gonna tell her the “ministry of time” isn’t a light hearted read? i sobbed multiple times.
Yeah, they lost me at moderate cannibalism. 😬
@@kimbarbeaureads HUH
I was too excited for that book as it was a major disappointment.
I almost never comment on videos but I just wanna tell you, every time i’m having a bad day I watch your videos and you suddenly make me feel better. Your videos are so wholesome, your aura so positive and hearing you talk so passionately about things I love too is fulfilling. Never mind how many good books recommendations I got from you. Thank you!❤
Ooooh the Dostoyevsky collection looks so good 😍
Hi, Emma! Me and my friends here in the Philippines hope if you could do a video on all of your poetry collections! we have a poetry club here and you were the one who inspired us to read classical lit❤🎀✨️
Definitely recommend Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint if you're into the whole manga(manhwa) genre. One of the best manhwa(originally a novel series) in Korea. I can't spoil anything about it because it's so good that one should read it without having any spoiler. 10/10.
emma is keeping us FED lately i feel so lucky
Ah, so fun to see you unbox the book! The collection has an entire list of his works, also kept one for myself, haha.
15:38 so pretty and the second book has "dear roman" ❤
i have a bunch of wordsworth classics because i am chronically broke, and that new edition of notes from underground looks so good!
also, the ministry of time sounds like that movie with meg ryan and hugh jackman, kate and leopold.
I’ve been in a reading slump for a month, but now I'm excited to start a book because of this!
Emma just making exam month easy for me with her beautiful calming videos 💕
Loving the consistency!! Your videos just make me feel so calm 🤎🥺
I started Divine Rivals last year on the Libby App from the library and loved it and stopped reading it as i wanted the physical book, which i did get for christmas. 🙂📚
loving this constant flow of videos, really helping me get through exam season ❤
Thank you sweet Emma. I love your videos and I trust your opinions. So many books so little time. 💕🌸💕
I read Divine Rivals earlier this year and fell IN LOVE. I hope you enjoy it too! ❤
Hi Emma! If you like Sipsworth, you should try reading The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett! A beautiful story about an old lady who wishes to pursue doctor assisted suicide but while she’s waiting for an appointment, she meets an old man and a little girl in her neighbourhood and their relationship is so beautiful. It also flashes back to her young life. Happy Reading! 🍄🦋🩵
You just made me want to read Sipsworth. I love any store that involves a sweet frendship with a cherished little furry creature.
Wow! So many stories in that Dostoevsky collection. I have a little edition of 5 or 6. My favorites from that was The Crocodile, and A Gentle Creature.
An emmie video right after a LOTR reading session what a blessing! Also I finally finished tram 83 I'm leaning to a 5 star
Love the books and the hair ribbon 🤍
I just wanted to thank you for making the "Dreams Lie Beneath" by Rebecca Ross rec in a previous vid of yours because I read it right after seeing you recommend it. You helped me discover a new favourite fantasy author, thanks! Ever since, I have been reading through Ross's bibliography since I enjoy her writing and stories. Now, I have read everything except for the "Divine Rivals" duology and will read it as soon as my audiobook on Libby becomes available.
I listened to it on audible shortly after she talked about 😊
@@yelenskareads nice! I read it on audiobook too, but on the Libby app. Have you read any other books of hers?
@@tayabel1103 no :)
I hope you are keeping well and not working too hard. In a recent video you said your writing may get published and that's so wonderful. May the sun shine on everyone and everything you love!❤
I am so glad you are posting so much, thanks Emma :)
olivia atwater’s books seem like a great series to read after loving the emily wilde books! i’m excited to pick them up!!
Looks like you got some good books! I would like your take on Divine Rivals once your done. It's next on my tbr list. Happy Reading 📚 😊
Great haul! I’m interested in Sipsworth
3:48 i found your channel & got back into reading when you were doing your war and peace vlog. You went on to motivate me to start reading and collecting classics. I remember you recommended the 1st & 2nd KJ Sutton books. The 3rd and 4th weren’t available yet. Love love this series cause of you. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Can I just say, I'm obsessed with the new Wordsworth classics design! I ordered Anna Karenina and 1984 and thought I would get the old cover, but such a surprise to see the new ones! Love the Anna Karenina one! Now I have to stop myself from buying more books 😭
Milena's Bookshop is the best!🧡
I love all the Emma content we've been getting lately! 🙂
Wowwww so many videos this week! I LOVE IT 😍 I feel so spoiled
That Notes From Underground cover! Wow, so gorgeous.
you got Endless Terrors! yayyyy so happy 🤗😍
I'm so excited you are reading Divine Rivals!!!!
Omg so excited for you to read ten thousand stitches. I read half a soul last year in may and i loved it but don’t know yet if i wanted to pick up the rest of the series so a review from you would be perfect!
Emma! I don't know if you've been recommended this already but I think you would really like Frieren. I only watched the anime, but I heard the manga is just as good. The protagonist is an elf and it centers the difference in life span with the rest of beings (humans, for example) and how she processes this. It delves into themes of memory, grief, loss, legend vs reality. It's beautiful and it's great ✨
ooh i need to watch the anime asap!
@@neoneko280 100% recommended honestly👌🏻
Yessssss. Your videos have been one after the other lately and it's glorious. Thank you for your hard work! ^_^ ❤️
Hi Emmie! I've been following you for a couple of years, but now I want to get more into booktube, could you maybe make a video about your favourite booktubers?
Long time watcher, first time commenter :) If you like the idea of being misplaced in time or trying to combine two different time periods, I'd highly recommend the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. It's set in an alternate 1980s UK with dodos and migrating mammoths, and the main character is a literary detective. Fforde is one of my favourite authors of all time, I think you'd really get a kick out of all the literary references he makes.
One of my favourite series of all times, thanks for reminding me of it, it's time for a reread! :)
@@miriam2526 apparently the last one is coming out in the next couple of years 😱
@@forfred_au whaaaaat? I didn't even know that there is more coming up! I thought the series is finished. 😅
@@miriam2526 One more! I saw a live he did with SoHo Press and he mentioned it.
Oh my god I loveee Olivia Atwater's books! Half a Soul is one of the very few romance novels I gave 5 stars ❤️
Keep posting your incredible videos, they keep me alive
I LOVE SPY FAMILY ❤ SOOOO GOOD
mann the fact that elizabeth swann and jack sparrow are like my most favorite ship everr =D
I love Rebecca Ross! If you love Divine Rivals be sure to pick up her other books too. My favorites by her are A River Enchanted and A Fire Endless.
divine rivals was such a good read for me 🥹 glad that you’re enjoying it so far too emma! 💓
Sipsworth sounds so lovely
Emma, I know it's unrelated but I'd really, really want to read your older essay on Frankenstein and both your thesis papers. Would love to see the one on Icefields published, too! ♡♡♡♡ I've just found myself so curious about your writing because you seem so passionate about it, as I know I am very passionate about it too. From Romania 🇷🇴 ♥️
I'm looking forward to my own little book haul next week. It's my birthday on 18th May. I've ordered a bunch of things, treating myself, and as they're arriving, I'm wrapping them in paper and string one by one, without looking. At night on my birthday I'm going to have a quiet little private present-to-self opening session by myself. I'm loving being spammed by Emma content!
Omg emma! Today is my birthday, and therefore the first time ive bought books in literally a year lol. I bought Half a Soul (per your reccomendation), Legends & Lattes, Emily Wilde (also per your reccomendation), and like 4 others, im VERY excited!!
Happy birthday!!
@@tayabel1103 tysmmm
It’s funny, I read the broken heart series not knowing what anyone said about it, and I thought the first one was good and bad, i loved the second one - because jacks, and then was so disappointed in the last one. I’m excited to hear your thoughts on ballad of never after, I think it has the best atmosphere.
a curse for true love is really not that bad lol. i enjoyed it fully. this book haul was amazing!!!
I love Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows. It is a spin on World War One as it has trench war fare and poison gas.
I really didn't like Endless Terrors but so curious what you will think! ❤
Sipsworth sounds like a good reading experience!
I was sooo happy when I saw you posted again so soon❤🎉
I am in love with your rings!!!! Do you remember where you got them, especially the ring on your left thumb!!!!!
ESOL students sometimes struggle with English articles, the definite and the indefinite. I personally don't know Russian but possibly they don't use definite articles the same way that we do.
Emmie I NEED you to read Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb! The writing feels like a classic fantasy but with modern elements. It's so SO good!
Great haul 📚☕
best notification ever!!! 💌💌
I love divine rivals
Notes from Underground is my favorite novel of Dostoyevski
Hey Emma! I am curious if you have read "Little, Big" by John Crowley? I am currently halfway through it and it is like nothing I have ever read before.
Notes from Underground was a slog the first time I tried it but I finally got through it last year and it's obviously depressing but still pretty great - my copy also has The Double, which is utterly wild
I would love to watch your reactions on The Count of Monte Cristo Teaser as well as the Trailer.
My mid-nightly source of serotonin has returned
I saw you read The Night Circus on your Goodreads have you read her other novel The Starless Sea?!?! Would highly recommend! 🖤
Ten thousand stitches is really good! Even better than Half a soul, bc it dives into the fairy world and has some interesting and very relatable thoughts on modern days work life (read the acknowledgements when you're done!)
Notes from the underground was such an unsettling read, but I love that it leaves you thinking for weeks!
And Divine Rivals was ok, but I don't get the hype honestly, the writing is nothing special and I wanted to know more about the world and the gods!
I think that Doestovesky
Have you read Connie Willis time travel books? So good. Starts with Doomsday book.
Hey emma 💖
I would like to give you a rec for a book that sounds so up your alley
It 's * It lasts forever and then it's over * by Anne De Marcken
All I'm gonna say is that the setting involves a hotel and the afterlife ..... and it s a short book
I hope u see this comment 🎉
Don’t discount the last book in the “once upon a broken heart” series. I loved the series (second book is my fave) and I loved the last book, I thought it was a perfect ending. Hope you like it too!
Prioritize them all!!! Maybe in a 24h reading vlog?🤷🏻♀️🤭🤔🤔
emmie if you want a cozy anime with incredible worldbuilding, watch delicious in dungeon. The manga is also amazing.
I have to get the Ministry of Time, it sounds so intriguing. But I'm still in my Count of Monte Christo reading era and never want that one to be finished.😅
A bow to the bow
I would start replacing
Just do it
Yayyyyyy 🥺✨
So at 3PM eastern time I was sitting here clutching my coffee mug, which is decorated with antique bookcases, and Hades mumbled "All right, Sisyphus, you can watch Emma's video, but then get back to your rock, I mean office. The accounts must be reconciled." Thanks for making my lunch hour mythic, Emma! …I hope Calcifer is doing better.
we are being FED ❤
Endlessly awaiting for your review on bungou stray dogs!! Also spy x family is a really good story. I absolutely adore Anya and Damian ❤. Glad to see you enjoying it!
Do you think I'll enjoy it if I have already watched the anime?
@@strawberryorange3755 100 percent you will. While the anime is amazing as well. There are some extra moments in the manga that you will love as well. Plus the backstorys animated are all from the lightnovels which are a real punch in the gut. Especially storm bringer. 😓
Another video!! I watched your last before bed yesterday and dreamt you were my neighbor 😫😂
Last vlog you said you were thinking of doing a Marathon. It' s not a good idea.
One of my chess friends was a distance
runner in highschool & continued after. He ran in a Chicago Marathon & he's read extensively on running. He stopped doing distance running & he told
me interval training is much healthier.Personally, I train on the elliptical machine for tennis.
As for Dostoevsky, why don't you
just emigrate to Siberia& build yourself a cabin beside Lake Baikal in the middle of winter &then you won't have to read "Notes from the Underground"?😂😂😂😢😢😢
I bought the brothers karamazof yesterday and I’m terrified
Don't be worried you'll swim through it!
kpop and classic lit 🫡 so real of you
Why are you terrified?
@@maryknighttttttttttttttttt bc it’s intimidating?💀
I read crime and punishment, and it was surprisingly easy to read except for some confusion with names. So, don't be intimidated!
❤❤❤
Since you mentioned The Tortured Poets Dept, don’t you think she wrote Fortnight about Manacled?
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy
You’re spoiling us
Why are you this pretty today??? 😍
Maybe it's also about your name being Emma but you always remind me of Emma Watson 🤓💜
3 vids in a row???? We are so lucky
Hi Emma! Viewer from Spain here. There's been kind of a small controversy because The Ministry of Time has been accused of plagiarising and being a rip-off of a spanish TV series with the same name from some years ago. I havn't read the book or plan on, but I have seen the TV series and for the articles I've read, it quite copies and has the same mechanics, and the love story you've mentioned seems like a gender bend remix of the main one in the series. If you end up reading te book it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this!
I love your channel and hope you have a great day :)
