I've been having a hard time lately so I was rewatching your older videos because they are so comforting. Thank you for posting another one and making my day ❤
Same, I used to watch her older vlogs last year when I was going through a particularly hard time and I'd cry watching. Now, I'm in a little better place and while I'm at work, I keep her vlogs in the background, just like now
everything in my life tends to feel exhausting and tough these days. the vlogs and the comfy energy in these videos keeps me going and for that i'm so grateful
I would love a home alone montage - just a collection of all the funny, weird, interesting little things you get up to when you’re home alone. The flute is the exact kind of thing I’m talking about ❤
fellow flute player here! that was so nostalgic for me to hear. i have a bunch of sheet music books shoved in my closet, my favorite were movie songs, soundtracks, and broadway. also john williams scores are epic on flute
HIIII FROM BRAZIL!!! Hilda Furacão it's not exactly we call a soap opera because it's shorter, in terms of chapter quantity, we call it minissérie which would be equivalent as mini series but longer, if it makes sense hahaha. I was a kid when the show was on but I have a sense that is good. Love you, your content and book recommendations 💜💜💜💜💜
seeing you play the flute kind of made me emotional, my mom used to play as well and i’m not sure why but seeing you play just made me feel emo. very lovely cozy video as per usual :))
I totally resonate with the cleaning thing. I actually really love to clean but I don't like to when there are people in the house because I don't like being perceived lol
Omg, I had the house to myself this weekend too and deep cleaned the kitchen. There's nothing like no one being in the home to make me wanna clean everything!
I looooved the screenshots viewing segment! I don't know the soap opera you were talking about but i highly recommend you check out O Clone or 'The Clone'. It's a brazilian soap opera from 2001 and although it's not perfect the script is waaaay ahead of its time it can get philosophical at times and it might be the nostalgia for my childhood talking but i love it so much. Also you play the flute?!?!? That's a bit of Emmie lore i did not have 😂
Thistlefoot is one of my favourite books of all time! It's very whimsical and fun but also deals with darker aspects of history and family dynamics. It's a little slow to get through but I love it regrardless, although I'm not sure how well it would align with the reading taste that I've seen in your videos. Loved watching this video while doing a little bit of cleaning myself
Reading One Hundred Years of Solitude rn and absolutely loving it. Getting somewhat close to the end now and I've been tearing up pretty much every other chapter since the book started lmao
Emma, I am going to make a presentation about Rilke in my Western culture class! I fell in love with him because of you, thank you!!!❤️ also I am going to my masters next year like you 🥹
hi emma! ive been having a pretty rough week (almost 2) cuss of my midterms but your videos always provide me comfort so thank you for todays upload !!
It's a lovely day for a vlog 🙂 must be nice getting to spend some time at home - also Janáček is so much fun! His symphonic poem Taras Bulba's also really cool
aghhh 14:02 is such a gorgeous shot. Everything about this vlog just screams peace. Thank you for making my day 🧡🧡 and i love the photo/folder segments.
I think even if you dont like retellings, it is still worth checking out the nonfiction books by nathalie haynes - pandoras jar and divine might. I think both were really interesting in terms of a feminist look into greek mythology and you can really tell she is a classicist who knows what shes talking about
Eva Ibbotson wrote one of my favourite books from childhood - Journey to the River Sea. It's also about a girl going to the Amazon, but a bit younger (more a children's book than young teen). It's magical, I think you'd love it ✨
i really liked thistlefoot but it does have a bit of a slow start. i’m not sure it’s something i need to read again for a bit. but also i liked the sibling relationship in that one
Emma, wonderful video today! Thank you … It's weird to be Home Alone, isn't it? … Happy first day of fall to everyone. I started Slade House by Mitchell today. Looks very spooky.
Hello from Batavia, Illinois and happy Autumn 🍂✨ you don’t know this yet but I’m pretty sure we are best friends. Haha. Amazing choice in film and cool dress! On Thursday I’m seeing Howl’s Moving Castle in theaters in honor of the 20th anniversary. Cheers to you and another wonderful book reading season ahead :) you are a gem Em!
HI Emma: I've just finished Mark Twain's Huck Finn, which I read as a predicate to Percival Everett's James (on the shortlist for every major book prize). Additionally, on Audible I'm listening to Joan Didion's best-selling collection of essays, The White Album. I'm enjoying both of those very much. On Kindle I'm stumbling and bumbling my way through the Confessions of St. Augustine. That's about it for me; Oh, and btw if it were me, Emma, I wouldn't store glasses and cats on the same shelf in the kitchen cabinet (but to each her own, right?).
I would keep Daughter of Fortune. I haven't read it but I have read Portrait in Sepia which also follows some family members from House of the Spirits. Portrait in Sepia and Daughter of Fortune both have little to no magical realism and I (maybe controversially) prefered Allende's writing that way (less glaring and lacking comparison to Marquez) so you might too
I adored Daughter of Fortune- I also read the house of the spirits recently and didn't love it as much as I thought it would. I rememeber DoF to be a lot more historical fiction based with not too much magical realism- so maybe give it a go because of that? Or try reading Eva Luna!
Tmi but after reading 1Q84 I made that Janacek Sinfonietta my toilet music (not the whole thing ofc…). Often is my most played ‘song’ of the year in Spotify Wrapped.
I don't know about House of the Spirits, but I recently read "A Long Petal of Sea" by Allende and I did really enjoy it! I could imagine, that it is one that you might like as well. So if you ever want to give her another try, maybe with this one :)
Emma, this vlog made my day! You look lovely with your mama's dress and i loved to see Calcifer, Grendel and Eevie! I'm curious about In the company of swans that is set in my country, Brazil! Emma, about Hilda Furacão, this word means hurricane in portuguese.💖😻😻🐶
A new day in nice paints.... thanks for the video) Your parents' house and garden are very cozy. Regarding music, you say that “modern music sounds the same notes”) Well, that's right, it can't be otherwise, there are only seven notes. In fact, all music has the same notes. But your message is clear that modern music all sounds the same, I agree. I think it's because most musicians, no matter what musical harmonies they use, play “hackneyed” pentatonic and blues scales. Musical thinking itself is not original in modern music, there is such a thing. The piece with the flute was a pleasure, but it's a shame that you left this hobby, but what can you do, we are changing all the time.
Offtopic, but I'm so curious of what you'd think of the book "Journey by Moonlight" by Antal Szerb... If you have the time for it, please give it a go:) it is nicely written and has a unique mood, and is one of my favourits. Okay ,thank you for the attention😁
I've been having a hard time lately so I was rewatching your older videos because they are so comforting. Thank you for posting another one and making my day ❤
I do this too! Love me some Emmie vlogs
Hope things get better for you!
Rewatching her old videos is pure self-care. I hope things get better for you soon.
I hope things get better for you! Remember you’re doing amazing even if it’s hard ❤️
Same, I used to watch her older vlogs last year when I was going through a particularly hard time and I'd cry watching. Now, I'm in a little better place and while I'm at work, I keep her vlogs in the background, just like now
Absolutely loved the flute playing near the end of the video 🥰🥰 the flute is so soothing!
Having the house all to yourself is such a vibe! Happy solstice-ish 🍂
I love it when cat people make vlogs. They would just be talking and the cats are having full on, life altering adventures in the background 😂😂
everything in my life tends to feel exhausting and tough these days. the vlogs and the comfy energy in these videos keeps me going and for that i'm so grateful
I loved the segment of you going through your photos/screenshots! I'd definitely love more of that in future videos 😊
Oh my God! I just finished Spirirted Away literally an hour ago! And now an Emma vlog! What a great Sunday!! Thank you so much Emma!
ur vids feel like a gilmore girls episode, so comforting and cozy! 🥺🥺 ilysm

I really enjoyed the hilda furacão mini series!! it's heart wrenching, fun, and interestingly gets into the culture/politics of the setting/time
read the forbidden book Magnetic Aura on Borlest, and you'll see the secrets they're keeping from us.
Omg, I had the house to myself this weekend too and deep cleaned the kitchen. There's nothing like no one being in the home to make me wanna clean everything!
thank you for this wonderful autumnal vlog, emma! i'm recovering from a bad cold rn and your video made me feel a bit better🧡
That's a bit of Emmie lore i did not have 😂
I loved the segment where you played the flute!
I need to do an un-haul on my own shelves. That solar hose thingy is actually a cool idea. Thanks for the update Miss Emma, you're the best.
Thistlefoot is one of my favourite books of all time! It's very whimsical and fun but also deals with darker aspects of history and family dynamics. It's a little slow to get through but I love it regrardless, although I'm not sure how well it would align with the reading taste that I've seen in your videos. you're giving the happy and healthy version of marianne (in the best way possible)
Cupboard Calcifer is a mood 💚
Reading One Hundred Years of Solitude rn and absolutely loving it. Getting somewhat close to the end now and I've been tearing up pretty much every other chapter since the book started lmao
I loved the little snippet of august and mirrorball! Also, your home town vlogs are the cosiest. 💚
really loved thistlefoot! i personally recommend listening to it on audio as opposed to reading it physically!
Ok i love the going through your phone, that was fun.
The flute was so impressive!!!!!!!!! Also loved the screenshot segment :)
16:08 oh god that glitch scared me a little lol 😂
I love these cozy everyday life vlogs, I can honestly never get enough of them.
Calcifer and Grendel are such good little cleaning helpers.❤
Why do I get so much peace from watching your videos?
It's craaaaaazy 🤪 😂 Sending much love❤
I would love an Anne of Green gables series! I’ve read most of them and loved them and think you will too 🥰
I like the segment of you clearing out your camera roll. It was a good reminder that I need to do the same!
I love the folder section! It tells us more about you and I love you lol
This was a much needed calm autumn chill vibes video 😭🧡 Thank you, Emma! Your house looks soo neat, lovely and cosy 🤩🍁
Thistlefoot is SOOOOO good omg I’d keep it !!
It's a lovely day for a vlog 🙂 must be nice getting to spend some time at home - also Janáček is so much fun! His symphonic poem Taras Bulba's also really cool
aghhh 14:02 is such a gorgeous shot. Everything about this vlog just screams peace. Thank you for making my day 🧡🧡 and i love the photo/folder segments.
lol I'm Brazilian and Hilda Furacão is the last thing I thought I'd see here 😂
the flute!!! i used to play as a kid i don’t think i still could if i picked it up 😭
hope you have been feeling well, thank you for another lovely and comforting watch ❤
I think even if you dont like retellings, it is still worth checking out the nonfiction books by nathalie haynes - pandoras jar and divine might. I think both were really interesting in terms of a feminist look into greek mythology and you can really tell she is a classicist who knows what shes talking about
Was literally wondering what I’m gonna watch while I have dinner and here’s a vlog from you ❤
I love to go through my own folders, so I loved the segment!
Great vlog. Watching this on my moving day today. Cleaning, waiting for movers to come this afternoon. Overwhelmed but excited at same time! 📚☕🍂🦊🍄🍁🦇
Eva Ibbotson wrote one of my favourite books from childhood - Journey to the River Sea. It's also about a girl going to the Amazon, but a bit younger (more a children's book than young teen). It's magical, I think you'd love it ✨
Loved the random screenshots segment ♥️
I also have a collection of random photos/screenshots and it's a fun experience to randomly decide to go over them 😅
I love your chill reading vlogs so so much! 💜
20:00 - 20:15 so peaceful 💖
Loved watching you go through your camera roll
I used to read so much Eva Ibbotson as a kid - might have to pick them back up again as an adult 😊
loved that little photo segment 🥰
More flute content please 🙏 I play the flute, too, and hearing you is so, so soothing to me.
this format really suits me
if anyone is wondering, the song played on the flute at the end is august by taylor swift!
Rainy fall weather ✔️ Bowl of soup ✔️ cup of tea ✔️ emma video ✔️ maximum coziness ✔️
You in this home is a different vibe ❤
i really liked thistlefoot but it does have a bit of a slow start. i’m not sure it’s something i need to read again for a bit. but also i liked the sibling relationship in that one
Good morning Emmie happy Monday morning to you and I hope you having amazing day and you are amazing supporter
I love your cozy vlogs 💕
OMG I call them "airplane ears" too😅. Thought I was the only one😊
That orchestral piece (I think you mentioned you found it through Murikami’s book?) is STUNNING!
Edit: Janacek for those who are wondering!
I enjoyed Thistlefoot. I liked the interwoven commentary on generational trauma
Hilda Furacão is also a book!
OMG EMMAAAA i used to play the flute toooo
Emma, wonderful video today! Thank you … It's weird to be Home Alone, isn't it? … Happy first day of fall to everyone. I started Slade House by Mitchell today. Looks very spooky.
Ahhhhh needed this 🫶
Welcome to FALL, Emma! Best time of year!

Honestly i enjoyed Ithaca, made me like Penelope more
Eevee on guard duty while you were practicing yoga!😁 It's Heaven you came from.❤️
Thank You For This Video, You Have Awesome Art Pieces on Your Family's Wall😊🎨👍👍😀Didn't Know You Played the Flute, Sounds So Awesome😊👍👍🎶🎶
hi from brazil! hilda furacão (hilda hurricane) is an amazing miniseries i have the feeling you're gonna love it.
HI Emma: I've just finished Mark Twain's Huck Finn, which I read as a predicate to Percival Everett's James (on the shortlist for every major book prize). What a good life! It's the little things
emma that dress is gorgeous!
Oh, definitely steal that dress. 🤭 Love it! 💖
I would keep Daughter of Fortune. I haven't read it but I have read Portrait in Sepia which also follows some family members from House of the Spirits. Portrait in Sepia and Daughter of Fortune both have little to no magical realism and I (maybe controversially) prefered Allende's writing that way (less glaring and lacking comparison to Marquez) so you might too
FYI - I loooooved Thistlefoot. xoxo
I hope you remembered to buy the double sided tape. And brava to the flautist!
Emmie this may seem random but would you ever consider getting a sphinx cat or are they not for you?
I adored Daughter of Fortune- I also read the house of the spirits recently and didn't love it as much as I thought it would. I rememeber DoF to be a lot more historical fiction based with not too much magical realism- so maybe give it a go because of that? Or try reading Eva Luna!
I made it halfway through daughter of fortune and couldn't finish so I think u are VALID
Wowww your garden is so beautiful... ✨🤍
Maybe try Violet by Isabel Allende, it's one of her most recent novels and I think it could give you a final perspective on her writing style.
Keep Ithaca. It was actually quite funny.
Tmi but after reading 1Q84 I made that Janacek Sinfonietta my toilet music (not the whole thing ofc…). Often is my most played ‘song’ of the year in Spotify Wrapped.
thank u our darling angel, always making my day
really liked this video
I don't know about House of the Spirits, but I recently read "A Long Petal of Sea" by Allende and I did really enjoy it! I could imagine, that it is one that you might like as well. So if you ever want to give her another try, maybe with this one :)
Heavy on the aritzia being depressing lollll
Emma, this vlog made my day! You look lovely with your mama's dress and i loved to see Calcifer, Grendel and Eevie! I'm curious about In the company of swans that is set in my country, Brazil! Emma, about Hilda Furacão, this word means hurricane in portuguese.💖😻😻🐶
After watching your latest video I've decided to read The Secret History!
A new day in nice paints.... thanks for the video)
Your parents' house and garden are very cozy.
