I love how the harsh direct light really refracts all those beautiful shades of purple and blue. It's easily one of the most beautiful rings I've ever seen. Amazing work, as always! I'm psyched you're switching to a weekly upload scedule. Your content is simply a work of art.
Oh, my goodness! This is such a BEAUTIFUL ring!! Thank you for sharing the idea. I have enjoyed your videos so far and I am looking forward to starting on some ideas of my own.
Amazing ring! I love how you made it free hand like you did. That had to take a very will trained eye! Great job!!!
That ring is absolutely mesmerizing. I would never be able to get anything done wearing it. I need at least 5.
That's the most beautiful band ring I've seen in my life 😍
Opal like this has such a deep rich color look - spectacular - and the craftsmanship is perfection!
That must be worth an absolute fortune !! What sizable piece of opal it came from !! Perfect choice of jewelry.
That thing is AMAZING!!! Opals are my favorite stone. Great work, man!
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world! I love your videos so much! Over time I hope to become like you with my own pursuit of jewelry making. This is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! The craftmanship is unparalleled. I can't wait for more of your content!
I love ovals and it's my birthday stone too! The blue green opal you made is so magnificent!!!! I have never seen an opal ring made out of a whole opal stone!
This is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen!💜💜
Not everyone knows that "bello" opals are man made. That should be stated in your title.
It is a bit misleading.
Otherwise, this ring (and all your others) is amazing!!
World class craftsmanship!
I was wondering where he got an opal that big.
Thanks for that info, gonna research that
It's actually not misleading at all since he did state it's bello opal, he never said it was mined opal from Ethiopia or Australia, it's not on him to make sure other know their shit

He’s perfectly transparent about what it is. People should go look up Bello Opal if they’re interested.
I was delighted to see that this was uploaded the same day as my bday! Great video, beautiful work on that ring.
All I can do is admire the beauty of the ring made of opal. Thank you tempest ring :).
This is an amazing peace of jewellery!!! The Opal colours are out of this world 🌎 you did an outstanding piece of art.
That has to be the prettiest color of opal I have ever seen thank you for posting love your vids
That is so beautiful! My grandmother's birthstone is opal; she just turned 95 last week Monday.
Becky Murphy..tell her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! My mom is 90. My mom and your grandmother... are the ORIGINAL GOOGLE!!
Nice try using the emotional ploy to try and win. Fucking awesome that you didn't win.
Becky Murphy this is not real opal
Becky Murphy by the way, that is synthetic opal.
Happy birthday to your grandma
I know it has to feel so awesome to wear something sooo stunning to look at. Especially in sunlight. Great job😍
Beautiful workmanship!! I'm very impressed. Thank you for sharing your talent!!
You are truly a master of your craft! I absolutely love finding people like you on UA-cam! I can't wait to save up enough money to buy my own equipment to start my own creations, learning from people like you! Thank you for doing what you do!
Nice rings , really inspires me to want to pick this up as a hobby. Your videos are awesome please keep posting
Well, looks like I may have finally found something I could do for the rest of my life. I would've never guessed how satisfying that could be. Thanks a bunch, Tempest.

This ring is beautiful opal is my favorite stone. The ones you find in the jewelry store are more white whit colors shining through this opal is gorgeous.
This is resin opal grown in a lab impregnated up on layers and layers. You could never ever do a real solid band opal ring, it's just too fragile.

Well that's cool
Diamond bit😂
Diamond bit would work on feathers
Congratulations to the winner 🎉 It's absolutely beautiful! I don't normally like man made opals, but those colors 😍
Man that is a spectacular ring. I was a jewellery rep for years and any opal always grabbed my attention, I loved selling them to my customers who really appreciated them. I'd love to own a ring like that and would treasure it. You did a fantastic job creating that piece it was a joy to watch you work.
That just might be the slickest peice of work I've ever seen.
This ring is so beautiful and watching you make it is very relaxing
I know I'm too late for the contest I just now seen this video but blue is my favorite color and that ring just pops it's an eye catcher all it's beautiful
Love the way that ring turned out. I would love to have one
Now this is what I say is absolutely STUNNING. I would definitely want to get 2 of them so on our wedding day my husband and I will have very unique rings. GREAT JOB Sir
Beautiful, just beautiful.
I'd love to have it it's a one of a kind that I could pass down my family regardless of the fact it's not natural .
Give it 5 years these things will be being sold in gumball machines and 99 cent stores once China infiltrates the Kyocera corporation and learns the manufacturing process
Amazing!! I'm hooked. Inspiring is among a lot of great words I would like to add about your work. Art in motion is the most amazing thing any of us can see. Thank You!
I love the outcome of your work, specially the natural color of the opal it's so refreshing.. good job pal.
Is the opal natural?
Update: no, not natural. It’s 80% silica and 20% resin. Natural opal is 100% silica
Timothy Rodriguez it’s gilson. Nothing real about it totally synthetic. Not worth a cent
joke4301 I looked it up before the update, that’s why I put the percentages. I’m not a fan of false opal but I am happy that he used that instead of real opal because it would easily get ruined.
Fake opal
Lol it is just plastic not any fancy words needed
can I have one please
What an awesome ring. I'm in a Graduate Jeweler course at GIA and I'll be showing this to my classmates
ThatsSomeGoodPizza wow that’s some high praise, I am mostly self taught in this style but I did my apprenticeship in Native American jewelry.
ThatsSomeGoodPizza it is synthetic opal
Black Opal Direct I’m aware. The growth structure is a dead giveaway but it’s also what makes this ring look so unique. I’m not sure that this would ever really work with natural opal, not to mention it’d be an expensive gamble.
It’s a beautiful ring. I used to work at a mineral museum and opal is my birthstone. Love it!💕
Have not seeing opal like this since i was a child. Your crafting is wonderful. Looks good on you, better on me.
I found your videos after going down a wood working/jewelry making lathe rabbit hole, and I'm so glad I did. Your creations are soothing to watch and come out gorgeous. This one is especially stunning, and you can tell how much time and care you put into each project. Keep doing what you do! :DD
That's the same way I found him too. His ring making skills are on point
Hi, I'm from Mexico and I wish to be like you, seriously dude, you are awesome.
I am AMAZED! How Beautiful and unique. I've been a magnet to rocks Forever. Beautiful job!
The way the light from the sparks shine through the opal is amazing to me.
It’s a fake opal
Everything you do is a little piece of art your amazing bro✌
Thank you so much my dude, I love making these videos and would put one out everyday if I could!
Amazing !! I love opal any color 😍
Congratulation potato roaster very beautiful. And I thought I got over opal fever. You have my admiration an appreciation for the work you do.
Just absolutely stunning! Made it look very easy... master craftsmanship.
I would very dearly love to have this ring, it's beautiful!
Holy crap man! This ring is super freakin cool. I absolutely love the colors. I like to collect colored stones, crystals, and geodes. I would highly appreciate being the lucky winner even tho I'm probably at the bottom of the comments and might not be seen. If in the slight chance I am picked this would most definitely go in my display case since I know opal is super fragile.
Honestly you don't have to give me the ring. Just a piece of the opal would be absolutely amazing to have.
Try etsy you can get a piece for less that $10
Raymond McCarthy It’s synthetic, and like the other commenter said, easy to find chunks and cabochons in all price ranges on eBay and Etsy.
Hi. Love the ring and its colours are absolutely amazing. To create such a ring is an art, skill and knowhow. You have made it look so easy and what a result. Well done. Master at work.
I just LOVE opals, real or manmade and this ring is just gorgeous!
Wow! Just Wow! I love it - congrats PotatoRooster!
Truly craftsmanship. Beautiful piece of jewelry. I have tried to learn it for a year but didn’t have the patience. You did a great job. I would love to buy one, but I am too old and my nice hands are long gone😢
That's absolutely gorgeous, opal is my birthstone so I've played around with carving a little but that's beautiful!
Damn, I missed the give away. I would have spent the remaining years of my life just staring at that ring, in awe. Beautiful... What about the left over chunks? I'd be super-stoked just to get a piece of that. Hint, hint.
lacrymal1 it definitely is beautiful to look at but not a real opal, 100% synthetic
@@gina2530 actually synthetic opal like this is silica just like opal. Only difference is it didn't come out of the dirt. There is something called lab created opal which is mostly resin with some silica. But that isn't what this is.
Hay I just saw ur comment about the caravan u racist
It's cheap to buy, google it.
I wish that I could have one. It looks so cool.
You might just win it on Wednesday!
BEAUTIFUL! Very very nice. Thank you for sharing this, Pam
Damn, i wish i would have won that ring! That thing is so incredibly, outrageously, fantastically beautiful! Tremendous! Like, i don't have enough adjectives to begin to describe how amazing that ring looks. You really did an unbelievable job on the ring! Wow, I'm in awe!
I know I'm late on the whole ring giveaway, but I was wondering if opal dust work like Pearl for automotive paint?🤔...that would be expensive $
I missed my true calling by NOT being a jeweler. If I could have made something like this I would have felt "complete". Thanks for the beautiful things you create from what nature provides man to improve upon.
You are a wonderful artist. Love the colors and simple beauty of this ring. Touché.
WOW , THAT'S beautiful..
Such an awesome stone..😊👍👍
I would like one as well. Would you be posting to South Africa? Opal is my favorite mineral , semiprecious stone
Opal is a highly precious stone.
It’s more valuable than diamonds.
Will you be making more of these???💜💜💜💜
you can order them in the color you want on his website
K. K thank you 🙏🏻 so much. Purple is my favorite color and the ring is absolutely stunning!
Witch means they are not real opals. Stop being fooled
OMG can’t believe you did this & then gave it away! So incredibly beautiful. I’m obsessed with boulder opals. Have lots mostly wrapped, many unwrapped I’m going to try learning to wrap them myself. Loved your video, I liked & subscribed, can’t wait to see what you do next!
I really enjoyed your video. Opal is something that has intrigued me since I first saw it as a child. It's like fire, in a rock.
I would love to have a ring like this one
I am Wiccan so I see the beauty and the power in that ring
Jennifer Hawse This is a man made “crystal” similar to sunstone, it’s not a real genuine nature made crystal. I would recommend looking into real opal. This is pretty still, just true opal.
Hi from England
I subscribed to this channel a few weeks ago after just scrolling through stuff in here...
I thought "that'll do will that...high standards of craftsmanship on display here"...
So I subscribed...
That's it.
...and it’s a natural stone! Color combination is spectacular. I need a wedding band. I could only wish! Very skilled young man.
Is it sadly man made and not natural.
Magnificent! Such precision in creating this unique peace of art. Anyone carrying this treasure from the heart of 'Mother Earth' will be filled with vibrations of joy and splendor.
Artificial homie
@@kennethstreet7868 What do you mean?
Bello opal is man-made not from 'mother earth'
By far most amazing opal jewelry ever how do i get one ive allways wanted a Opal this would awesome for any man who loves opals dope video an idea praying up fam
It's not a natural opal
Jesus christ that's a nice ring, and I like it's simple design. I'm assuming the opal is lab grown. How much was it for that chunk? I feel that inset stones on some rings might bring up its material cost, but nothing really stands out like a minimalistic design that puts the beauty of the material in the spotlight.
Ya it's a bello opal, they take about a year to grow. The original chunk was about $5 a gram so around $250 for the rough opal.
Can you please share a source of lab grown opals? Thanks!
@@TempestRings thanks for the reply. Did you use the entire block for this ring, or were you able to save some material for other projects?
My goodness. It is stunning. I can't wait to win it 😉. I'm betting the camera doesn't do it justice.
You are the top comment! YOU WON THE RING!!!!! email me at sales@tempestrings.com so I can get your info!
After watching Aussie opal hunters in the UK this looks incredible. Well done on all your awesome jewellery.
I love the ring. It looks so stately and mesmerizing and something a royal would wear.
Nice ring but its 2x wider than it needs to be. You should have cut the ring in two and it would be more comfortable to wear, and you would have 2 prizes to give away.
I just watched this video I must be to late to have won this gorgeous ring! Amazing video and I definitely subscribed to your channel.
Beautiful ring and how unique it looks I would definitely wear this and never take it off. Something about it mesmerizes me perhaps the green amongst the different scales of blue in intensity. I would love to win this ring!
this is a +
ring that anyone can wear. BEAUTIFUL
Very cool, is that a synthetic opal?
HD shovel Ed no it’s real just a really big opal
Tanner.... Come on..... That is clearly synthetic... It does not even take a trained eye to see that.
Shannon McCrary , you'd be very surprise on the opals that out there in the real world of rocks
@@HDshovelEd and if there was it would be worth more than hundreds of thousands of dollars and no one in their right mind would cut 80% away to make a ring. ( but that is only if that is true, but opals naturally can not have that compact and uniform colouration. If you ever see an opal where the internal structure seems like they are pressed against each other it is synthetic. Natural Opal will have gaps between the coloration. It is a good tip so you dont get ripped off when buying jewelry)
Shannon McCrary , Thanks Shannon. I understand that on all levels. As you probably already know, people do crazy things all the time. I do appreciate the feedback from everyone though.
Beautiful! Too bad I found it a year too late... 😔

I love the ring, looks amazing. Keep up the awesome work!
Nice work. That looks absolutely stunning.
Amazing. I love all of your videos!
I MUST HAVE THAT RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and who to hell disliked this video?!)
People that didn't find it soon enough to enter .
Wow that’s a beautiful piece of opal. The ring turned out amazing. Opals are so fragile, great job
its actually synthetic opal that he used, not the real thing.
Great tutorial, we really were amazed at you technique and tallent, please keep the videos coming. Thank you.
I assume that was synthetic opal?
yea its mostly resin... calling it Opal is a shame
Yeah exactly....
IT DID ACT LIKE RESIN, ARE YOU SURE?
@@schnaps1790 its lab grown
@@tact1calbanana388 Its called Polymer Impregnated Synthetic Opal and takes a about a year to grow in the lab and then is stabilized with resin
A ring like this is worth what? $300-450? With the lab created opal...im sure if it was a mined opal we would see a couple more 0s on that price tag.
Beautiful work tho, inspirational really!
Chipping into a facetable opal would ballsy. Although a black opal ring would look awesome. I can imagine one plated with gold edges and imbeded with diamonds.
I was thinking the same thing with THIS ring. Some gold or silver around the edges, cause it looks a little bit like a napkin ring. But still very cool😋
An opal that size would be a couple hundred thousand
@@JayFramed Not at all and also a real opal ring would prolly end up breaking very quickly. They are only a 5.5 to 6.5 on the hardness scale and just dropping a opal from a few inches up onto say concrete could very well break. There are big chunks of opal you can get for relatively cheap if the color isn't all that.
300$ is way too much for a fancy plastic ring.
the ring is beautiful, and it didn't take long, it must really shine in the Sun light. Great job.
All I can say is, "wow", that is awesome.
You should be more clear, this is synthetic opal... not genuine opal
Synthetic opal is opal, a synthetic diamond is still a real diamond too.
@@jamesguthrie9238 synthetic diamond is moissonite or CZ actually 😊
read " Bello Opal"
@@Mysticglass TOTALLY INCORRECT!!!...synthetic diamond is "A diamond" crystalized by human INTERVENTION in large crucibles under high heat and pressure JUST LIKE NAT. DIAMONDS. It was 1st. synthesized by "General Electric" in their Labs back in the early 60's. Moissanite is "naturally" occurring silicon carbide, used as a diamond "simulant," thought nat. occurring its refractive indices and specific gravity are close to that of diamonds. And has fooled many when introduced to the jewelry trade initially. And finally CZ's are also man-made simulants but have a much higher refractive index than diamonds and to the gemologist quite EZ to identify.
@Selem Bradly MOST GEM QUALITY synthetic diamonds are quite clean but usually have a yellow color to them...and yes its true; and I agree, Most synthetic diamond is used in industry, abrasives, lenses.
That type of opal is synthetic. Trying to do that with natural opal would be disastrous. Natural opal is too soft and would probably disintegrate and cost for an opal rough that size would be in the 7 figures. Don't get me wrong, I think this ring is beautiful. but it is man made.
He knows. Bello opal is lab grown.
Beautiful ring.....wish I had one just like it....with matching cufflinks
That is truly a beautiful ring. Should last a lifetime and more
Bro I freaking love this ring. Is this a hypoallergenic ring? I can't find a ring that doesn't break me out now and it makes me upset because my wife is constantly trying to find me something but every time we go with something it's a fail. If this is I seriously could use it. It would make her so happy to see a ring back on this finger again and especially with it being one I like. It would be a win win for me
Have you tried the silicone rings? They make breathable ones now
@@Luvvie90 that's where it all started. I went and bought a hypoallergenic silicone ring on base at Fort Hood and within 20 minutes of wearing it my skin was peeling, red, puffy, and itching really bad. Since then I've bought 9 more rings and everytime my finger breaks out the same way.
@@Journey_To_Hybrid it might be your circulation being effected not allowing proper oxygenation of your tissues which would indicate some underlying health concerns like acidic diet or specifically liver issues. You could try aluminum oxide (synthetic sapphire), zirconium ceramic, or Medical grade Titanium as ring material, all of which are not only 100% hypoallergenic, which silicone is not (even though they say it is). They are all extremely low molecular transfer materials as well. If you have tried any if those, or do try them and still have a reaction, my original assertion would be fully supported. Good luck. I don't wear rings because I use my hands for work too much and they wind up hurting my fingers. I'd try silicone but I hate that silicone texture.
What a great process, you make it look so easy!
My wife is Hypoallergenic and she can only wear, solid gold, sterling silver or titanium a couple of years ago i bought her a ceramic Rado watch but had to have the bracelet changed to a titanium deployant clasp as the standard stainless steel one would bring her wrist out in a rash. So far she has been okay with this as well.
And here I actually thought they were going to make a ring out of Opal. Bello Opal is a synthetic material, one of at least three or four types of synthetic Opals.
Rumple Stiltskin wow, thank god for you. You are truly a hero.
Well it does say in the title Bello Opal I doubt the ring would cost only 400$ If it was real opal.
he writes it clearly.. Bello Opal
I feel like I already won. You showed me that i no longer have to differentiate between wanting to do lapidary and wood turning. Now I can do both. Thank you!!! Now on to cracking open thunder eggs!
Amazing ring I have ever seen. Its like melted butter on my pancakes I dream of opal rings like that..well done...
