(ac 2) This makes me sad, because not only is it a reminder of this great game, but that Ubisoft sold their artistic direction for a more profit driven franchise. Killing Desmond, creating a cliff hanger, disappointing us with AC3, having this build up of Desmond being the greatest Assassin, to later kill him off and replace him with... Nobody, that nobody which is important somehow. Sure Black Flag was a great game, it wasn't what I really wanted, but I appreciate it. It didn't feel like I was an Assassin, I didn't feel like I was an Assassin in 3, I felt like I was apart of the history and culture of the first two games and their sequels, but at 3, I felt like I was driven not by the Brotherhood, but something completely different. I was disappointed when Unity came out, I barely touched Rouge, but Unity lacked history which it could of have tons of, it lacked story, mainly the modern story and I didn't bother finishing it. Now with the new game, I don't know if we will ever have another great Assassin's Creed game and this Theme just makes it sad to see once a great franchise filled with history, culture, atmosphere and adventure turn into this annual cash in of a franchise. Desmond may have been disliked by many, but I saw him as the main character, more of a main character than Altair and Ezio, they were secondary main characters, but Desmond was the true main character and they built him to be this great assassin, but they killed him, just like they killed this series. Ubisoft fucked up
Revalations was the last best MASTERPIECE AC by Ubi. That game was the best story of the Ezio's trilogy. After that, it wasn't the same. Ezio's trilogy, especially Revelations was a masterpiece. Kaash na ho! Akash na ho! Kaash na ho! Kaash na ho! Kaash na ho!
100% agreed!! 1, 2 and 3 were the best and enjoyed unity also black flag but not as much as the first 3 games and after that I haven’t even wanted to play the new games because it doesn’t have that same assassins creed vibe anymore :(
Im so mad they had a game about rebels in Britain and didn’t make them Irish how cool would a game where a pair of siblings create a rebellion against British rule (secretly run by templars)

I assume that Ubisoft used Assassins creed as a means to spread the truth thru history, they talk about modern day abstergo like the modern secret societies using products and influence to bring a "new world order", the freemasons exist in universe too, hell theres even a segment in 2 games that shows us "The Truth"
imagine if Desmond survived, just that his arms were amputated, then he returns in the stories later becoming a new legendary master assassin, with his arm replaced with hidden blades, and known as the armless savior by the brotherhood
All AC games are shit aftter AC Rogue, accept it already. Whole AC franchise was built on the templars and Desmonds ancestors after they removed that game went downhill, another thing that killed AC franchise is fantasy bullshit and not sticking with accurate history.

@@ecvjtv2778 Black Flag still is an Assassin's Creed game, but from a different perspective. It shows more of the conflict between freedom and order from the perspective of a man with the worst of both ideas (greed and chaos/apathy) and his redemption after losing all he loved. The modern day story was interesting with the whole sage concept, but they managed to fuck that up in Unity and Syndicate. Then Origins rebooted the whole deal again with the angry greedy girl that feels entilted to everything just like Desmond but even more forced. Assassin's Creed still is a good franchise but they don't know how to give purpouse to our effort :/
@@RandalfElVikingo I would have liked a pirate game with the mechanics of black flag, but the game itself could be like an online rpg where you design your own character and your own ship however you like. How does that sound?
I get why people dislike Desmond, though I think they are overexaggerating, but it's irrefutable that Assassin's Creed died when he did. Personally I really liked the modern day aspects. Desmond should have eventually became the main character in a game all about him but no, Ubisoft threw him away and the series suffered...
What if: At the end of AC3, it was William who sacrificed himself since he was also a direct ancestor from Altair, Ezio, and Connor and theoretically could operate the temple as well. We know how strict and tough William was to Desmond and his act of selflessness and fatherhood will be the plot twist. As Desmond instructed his team mates to go, knowing what was going to happen, he suddenly punched and knocked Desmond out then tell Rebecca and Shaun to carry him away from the temple. "You must finish what we have started. I'm proud of you, son." would be his last message as the curtain close and the world was safe from apocalypse. So the story will carry on and Desmond will still continue to fight. This time, no longer whiny as he was, he is determined to bring Abstergo and Juno down as a modern day assassin. Why we need Desmond alive? Because IT IS easier to connect the story to the future AC series that way. He doesn't have to be the main character, but he is STILL essential for modern day assassin story. Whether you love it or hate it, the AC story was all started with Desmond. Damn you Ubisoft, was that idea never crossed in your mind?
Yeah, that would make more sense, and add up to the part Desmond rescue him. I think it's maybe even the original plan from dev team, but they changed their mind. Ubisoft want Desmond died, so they can start going for new characters and games years later.
“She will enslave your kind” all those threats from Juno and nothing has happened. After Odyssey I’ve realised now that Ubisoft are just throwing the story away and starting new. Absolute bs
Spencer West But ASC4 was better in every way to it's predecessors. So that's an invalid statement if you ask me. PLUS we needed an excuse so we didn't skip Edward Kenway's badass story.
+icey778 I skipped black flag, I agree the game died with Ezio and Desmond trilogy, It made the story for the game, now they just send you to a new location but nothing behind it, no strive to solve the origins of AC now no point for the real existence of AC now that the "Gods" are not part of the story
+Adzzl Yeah I haven't played any after this. I heard good things about black flag. Maybe in the future I'll play it, but for now im not interested in much after ACII
Adzzl I think Black flag was really fun. I mean, travelling the sea on a ship you can do parkour on, to islands and friggin towns you can do parkour on!! And if you let go of the wheel just as you're about to battle a legendary ship, you can jump onto the enemies deck, assassinate everyone and have a friggin one hit K.O. with a level one cannon ball. 😂 it's entertaining as fuck!
I don't mind that they killed Desmond. Currently playing Black flag and I'm loving it so far. And I know for sure I'll love Rogue as well. What I do mind is the way they killed him off. I actually didn't mind Desmond Miles at all, I loved his saga. That is what it all started as. When I played that last sequence, I just realized how crap the game was the entire time, it was fun and all, and it felt like it's leading to some promising resolve, but nah. It was just a crappy way to kill of Desmond and turn the series into something else. The way you kill Charles Lee and they don't even share a political/ethical debate like the rest of them, and then this... Could've been so much more epic. By just adding a few scenes in. Desmond's dad: "No, son! You can't do this!" Desmond: "You know there's no other way! It might already be too late!" Dad:"Forget it! We'll find something else in here...(starts stuttering and looks really sad, his voice cracks) Camera then pans over the entire earth, and we see in the background a huge flare heading towards the Earth. We see people in the streets running around, panicking, earthquakes, buildings falling to ruin) Desmond: I'm sorry dad... Aren't you the one who said I can't ignore who I am? I can't escape from my destiny and my bloodline?" Dad:"I know who you are Desmond. You're my son. I wanted you to come home. I know I wasn't the best dad, but..." Desmond:"I know dad. I just want to make sure you have a home to return to. Take care of mom and say hi for me. Go now!" Shaun and Rebecca pull his dad away as evem the temple around them crumbles. Desmond - puts his hand on the globe. He then puts his hand in his pocket, and pulls out the apple of Eden. At that moment, Juno and Minerva disappear, and three other figures appear: Altair, Ezio and Connor. All three of them place their hands atop of Desmonds, and Ezio says:"Don't worry Desmond. Here we are, finally at the end of our journey. Once upon a time, I did not understand why I kept doing all of this, now i see its for a higher purpose. I still do not know how, but I know you were with us on our separate journeys. Let us acompany you on your last one." And the globe activates, green aurora borealis blah blah blah.
First we get this feeling that Desmond is building up to be a great modern day assassin, then they throw in a last-minute plot twist and kill him off in the lamest way before we get a chance to properly play with him...
As great as some of the games after this have been, the series has never quite got over killing Desmond. It's like they know they need to continue the modern storyline, but it lacks the focus and narrative that Desmond provided.
"You will become a symbol to those who survive..." All of that and ppl don't know who he is in game and "AC fans" don't even know his story! Juno also says that there will be no pain than it will happen in an instant... Buuuuut we already know that he suffered a horrible death and was alive until the end! Man how awesome would it have been to have experienced these in future VR for the first time? For when this released, it had AMAZING graphics compared to other games of it's generation! I just watched some videos and read some articles and there were people putting the first three Assassins Creed's as well as Syndicate at the bottom of the 18 lol I mean come on, the first three were probably the best and they were definitely the most important to the storyline! People only like the ones with good graphics and where you can farm XP and gold! Hell, Origins gave you the option to jump to what, 40 or 50? I've played all of them at least 3x each and actually took the time to read everything on the computers and there use to be a shit ton of backstory. I think I miss that the most!
I remember fondly the days of the original assassin's Creed. I thought Desmond would just become part of an assassin order to fight the templar. Oh how they really went off the rails in these games
I really hope Unity amps up the modern-day story. I'll let people say what they want about Desmond, but he really helped make the present day and by extension the entire series very intrguing and unique. Black Flag's modern setting is one of its few but crucial failings.
My impression was that our goal as the player was to make it to the modern day as desmond and collect the present pieces of eden...and in 15 seconds i swore to never touch an ac game again
is anyone watching this in 2014 and going, "well, Desmond hasn't come back yet so, he COULD be dead OR he IS the assassins but in their bodies!" I thank you for allowing me to fuck your minds
Angie Fernandez That one line that that guy says at the end of Revelations where hes like "I'm saving you idiot." there was this blue stuff coming from him and the same thing happened when Desmond died. So maybe Desmond is like in the animus? But I really think he is dead. Thats just some crazy theory. We saw the burn marks and everything they wouldn't bring him back for a pointless reason like that.
People are already frustated with their corporate jobs, and head to play games to enjoy. And Ubisoft gave us another Corporate job at Abstergo , instead of letting us save the world through desmond.
Uvuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemubwem Ossas wasn't there something about the possibility to duplicate ones self with the Apple of Eden? maybe he did that, maybe there's another him out there.
I love how people hated him when he was there and now these same people miss him Like they said the modern day parts were useless and boring but now they complain about the new present day
People, just accept it, Desmond Miles is dead. There is proof that he's dead, and there is no way that a human can survive that. Think about it, the apple couldn't save him, because Juno and Minerva CREATED the apple, so they probably have the power to prevent it's abilities when needed.

Now this data that you just shared broke my heart. I know the spoilers, that she is going to die.. but that means that she was killed by ubisoft to get rid of the voice actor. Maybe if she wasn't like that she could have lived and idk, have children with desmond.
I could't find any info about the voice acteess and royalties, could you share any source. After i read that my heart will be shattered even more
(ac 2) This makes me sad, because not only is it a reminder of this great game, but that Ubisoft sold their artistic direction for a more profit driven franchise.
Ubisoft fucked up
Triija Shay cormac? Arno?

In my opinion, Black flag was a great game. But not an Assassin's Creed game

AC IV made Desmonds death a lot more emotional.
What if:
At the end of AC3, it was William who sacrificed himself since he was also a direct ancestor from Altair, Ezio, and Connor and theoretically could operate the temple as well.
Altair and Ezio are not related on his father's side tho. But this would've been way better
If only you written the story, the AC franchise would be perfect
Yeah, that would make more sense, and add up to the part Desmond rescue him. I think it's maybe even the original plan from dev team, but they changed their mind. Ubisoft want Desmond died, so they can start going for new characters and games years later.
Rest In Peace Desmond mikes and the assassins creed franchise you will be missed

+icey778 freedom cry was pretty good
+icey778 I skipped black flag, I agree the game died with Ezio and Desmond trilogy, It made the story for the game, now they just send you to a new location but nothing behind it, no strive to solve the origins of AC now no point for the real existence of AC now that the "Gods" are not part of the story
You can't do this!"
Desmond: "You know there's no other way! It might already be too late!"
Dad:"Forget it! We'll find something else in here...(starts stuttering and looks really sad, his voice cracks)
Camera then pans over the entire earth, and we see in the background a huge flare heading towards the Earth. We see people in the streets running around, panicking, earthquakes, buildings falling to ruin)
Desmond: I'm sorry dad... Aren't you the one who said I can't ignore who I am? I can't escape from my destiny and my bloodline?"
Dad:"I know who you are Desmond. You're my son. I wanted you to come home. I know I wasn't the best dad, but..."
Desmond:"I know dad. I just want to make sure you have a home to return to. Take care of mom and say hi for me. Go now!"
Shaun and Rebecca pull his dad away as evem the temple around them crumbles.
Let us acompany you on your last one."
And the globe activates, green aurora borealis blah blah blah.

You Have Been Great in all AC games..... Rest In Peace Desmond :(
Killing Desmond off was a big mistake
First we get this feeling that Desmond is building up to be a great modern day assassin, then they throw in a last-minute plot twist and kill him off in the lamest way before we get a chance to properly play with him...
So these guys spend days maybe years trying to achieve this just to have Desmond die and have nobody even know what they did
As great as some of the games after this have been, the series has never quite got over killing Desmond. It's like they know they need to continue the modern storyline, but it lacks the focus and narrative that Desmond provided.
I feel like this series shoulda ended here, at least with the modern day stuff anyway.

I really hope Unity amps up the modern-day story. I'll let people say what they want about Desmond, but he really helped make the present day and by extension the entire series very intrguing and unique. Black Flag's modern setting is one of its few but crucial failings.

I'm sure this was a good idea on paper, but it turned out to be such a slap in the face.
