are the connecting rods the same length? if so the stroke length will be different, could change compression and head clearance

easy fix for this engine. new ring and maybe the low drag seals -those are terrible with longevity but give good BRAND NEW performance. meaning you dont need break in. its better for longevity to use stock oil seals and just remove the springs. the scoring on the exhaust side is from overheating /lean run. or not enough oil. also if u use a proper modern or race oil there wont be carbon on the top. also if u run meth/mixed gas.....also dont use meth gas it ruins the carb diaphragm. or u can get the new diaphragm from walbro that is metal. cant remember ,its a coil type contraption .expensive but it should last forever

HOLY!!. all im saying is NEVER hit anything on an engine. esp drive train. crank microscopically ruined . in the grand scheme of the low performance level of a zen style engine it wont loose much. also if ur not that great an observer u prob wont notice ,,but its bad practice . i like to see people workng on internal combustion engines tho ,so keep up the good work

more rotational mass = lower rpm but more torque would by my guess.

id bet the original crank was why its a "modified" block, its a cnc cut and balanced crank to get the most power and rpm out of the motor.
