So, I ran this local then got 2/3rd of the way through the trip when I realized the FCRR actually makes the interchange themself vs CSX delivering the cars. Either way it was a blast. Hope you guys enjoy!
Spur this is one of the coolest videos I've watched. Being a railfan, I've always wondered about how it all worked, and you presented that with a lot of clarity and authenticity. TY for putting it together for us.
Thanks bro! Really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed!
I’m so glad I found your channel. I can’t stop watching your run 8 content, it’s so good! Keep up the great work man
Thanks minnesota! Glad you are enjoying the content!
Amazing to watch! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into a world rarely seen! 🙏
Thanks Stalker! I really appreciate it bro!
People Normally put waaaaaay to much power at Taft, when i lived there they kept the locos on the one southbound leg of the wye near the launchpad
love watching your run 8 videos. would like to see you do some new ones!
Thanks! I really appreciate that and I got a new one up the other day in case you missed it! ua-cam.com/video/dKcZWKV17GM/v-deo.html
I've always wanted to work for the railroad.
The job itself was awesome as long as you were careful. The lifestyle and company politics totally sucked.
Love your vids. Can you do one that explains what happens to the cars once they are at the industry? If the industry fills them who comes to pick them up and how do they eventually get to their final destination.RL vs Run8 compare. Still a gray area for me. Leaening lots from your videos and I really enjoy your RL stories!
Thanks for the comment! Sorry I missed it somehow. As far as what happens, lets say you spot up an empty, the industry will load it and you will simply pick it up the next time you service that industry. Could be the next day, could be in a few days. It varies a lot. Either way when you do go back, you simply pull the car and the process is reversed. It's taken to the local yard, blocked for a road freight to pick it up and take it to possibly another yard and then to another local to be spotted up at the next location.
Why would the 6 axle be prone to derailing? Just the length of the truck and shorter switches? I don't know much about the prototype so I appreciate the background info in your videos
Right, they were worried about the longer truck wheelbase derailing in switches and curves or it turning a rail over. I dont think anything has really changed infrastructure wise in all those places other than there being way less small mom and pop leads to switch. I think at this point they just go with it.
they would constantly derail Autoracks going in that one curve into TDSI
A lot of old roadbeds have tighter curves cause back then cars were shorter and 3 axle trucks just weren't common. There's still places out there where 6 axles are forbidden.
F11 to board and F12 to hop off works for me and I use the default key binds. Unless it's a problem with the specific loco you are using those should work
Right, F11 and F12 are what I've always worked but sometiems F12 wont dismount me from the railcar and sometimes when I hit ctrl-F11 to go to the cab it puts me in the cab for a split seconnd then spits be back down to the ground. its really strange.
@@spurgaming5400 I believe you can also use Q and E in V3.
@@Czwakiel maybe that is what has changed! I'll have to try it out. Thanks for the tip!
I really hope I can get run 8. Love the video really entertaining!
Run 8 is a ton of fun! Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome video!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Hey Spur! Could you possibly point me in the direction of the populated map for the A Line? Thanks in advance!
I'm trying to come up with something, newer and more up to date that should cover all the Hyrail routes.
I.used to have a game called rule the rail. U could have as long a train as u wanted and as many units as u wanted. I always had dpus in middle and back usually.
Hmmm, I've never heard of that one. What year was that?
@@spurgaming5400 20 something years ago
Might been run the rails or something
Very cool info. May I ask where you got the sounds mod from?
Just some random sound mods a friend sent to me back in the day. I'm not sure where the download it was.
How are you able to tell the distance when you’re spotting cars? Is there any advice you could give?
It's just a judgement/experience thing. Best advice is to drop down some 50' foot cars in the editor and just eyeball what the distance looks like.
@@spurgaming5400 yeah when I watched your video I listened to what you had to say. I kinda figured that from the beginning but I thought it was best to ask the experienced😂
Can I use Raildriver with this?
As far as I know, you can.
Hey sir where did you find the file to populate the A line.
