Run8 “pro tip” - around 15min in you were cracking the air onto the rear cut and needed to go to the bottom to check that the angle-cock was closed, but you didn’t want to lose your location. You can save your position with the left shift and a number (like -1) and then return to that spot with -1. Really helps a lot for cases like this!
In Trainz you can in theory remake this entire yard in real scale (or even traditional model railroad scales). It's both a driving sim and world builder. Trainz 22 Platinum Edition is the version I currently own, and almost have 300 hours invested since buying it back in September (sadly sleep has been greatly sacrificed, and at 48 years old, yeah that's really bad). I ended up passing on Run8 due to the Run8 Studio's poorly designed website, and no proper ecommerce shopping cart system.
You know I've thought about trying Trainz several times but I just cant afford another hobby/game between Run 8, DCS, and everything else. Gaming has gotten expensive lol...
@@spurgaming5400 You’re welcome sir! I only knew it on top of my head since I’ve had to deal with that train before! 😂 Feel free to ask me questions about any other blocks, I’ll try to help as much as possible
Love the video spur and hey question did you guys have any BNSF ES44ac or dash 9s i was just curious because i have train sim world 3 and they are powerful and easy to control but i didn't if you guys had that kind of bnsf power in your consist back in the day
Very informative! At 38:00 you were able to blow up the dispatcher screen - how did you do that? For UP Alhambra and BNSF San Bernardino Subs Dispatcher Screen I need to use a magnifying glass - increasing the detail size would be a great improvement. Much enjoyed the video.
Those were sharp. I really liked the CEFX bluebirds and the maroon and blue HLCX units. I remember some giving us random problems here and there but I dont remember any out and out failing. Surprisingly I don't remember them failing any more than the company power. Maybe I was just lucky. The main thing about the rent-a-wrecks were they were mostly EMD units and a lot of them could pull like no tomorrow.
@@spurgaming5400 Yes sir the maroon & blue. FGAR, class 3 railroad local to me has one & it's probably the only one I've ever seen in person. The CEFX SD45's were sweet too.
It looks like it has been storage for various things over the years, locomotives and cars. Currently it has locomotives, and I don't remember what was in it way back when I was down there. So way back in the day it was used to marshal stump loads that were coming out of the swamp and going to Hercules in Brunswick GA. They used the rosin for various chemicals including explosives. The HERCO yard was part of the original ACL yard.
Here's a link to the world save that I am building mine off of: www.thedepotserver.com/forums/threads/a-very-populated-southeast-usa-download.13113/

Wow, that makes Barstow look small

Great video sir! The BIBN cut is the Bham BNSF cut and CLR is Calera cut
Sweet! Thanks so much for sharing that! Makes total sense!

Great to see more Run 8 content need to play more an get used to it
It can be a ton of fun for sure!
You can make a mini series with Rice Yard. It’s huge.
Quick, go buy Modesto so I don't have to. SAVE ME!
Oh man you cant just say no lol. Honestly, I didn't realize that was out today.
Great video! Love hearing all the sounds.

Oh yes I made lots of trips on BNSF -9s on some of their run through pigs. The ES44s didn't come along until after I quit.
@@spurgaming5400 Oh ok because i know BNSF had locomotives especially on intermodal

Lol I have to think on it bc in game it's just second nature, but I think you just hit left tab, and it focuses on one of the screens vs all of them.
@@spurgaming5400 How good is that! Me and my eyes thank you😄
My favorite rent a wrecks were the grey and green FURX units. Did they give you guys on the road a lot of trouble back then?

What is the Herco yard used for? I run a 24/7 modern Southeast server and i've yet to learn what its used for? Thanks!

Maschen yard in TSC is larger. The only thing that could be bigger is if there was Bailey Yard in a sim
Where on the Depot are you getting the world saves?
I'll look for it and see if I can pin the link. It was in a thread in there somewhere. Maybe on the V3 general discussion?
@@spurgaming5400 Alright, thank you
I think I found it on Depot Forum. Very Populated HRS SE correct?
