Thanks so much for this information. Very little information has been given to me about post DVT activity. I have been quite anxious about returning to exercising, but this video has relaxed my anxiety immensely and my guilt for not exerting the same level of exercise I performed pre-DVT. GRADUAL PROGRESSION is an important step on the journey to recovery.

@@diauser3327 i did the exercises in the video,but primarily i started walking for 10-15 minutes a day and now im back to normal,it took 5-6 months to recover from my symptoms. Good Luck and stay positive,things get better.

I’m a very fit, slim and healthy runner yet still got a freak DVT through the contraceptive pill. These exercises are for frail and much older people who rarely move. What should be taught is the threat of Post Thrombotic Syndrome in the leg and how it can be cured or hugely improved.
You're right, of course, but there are a lot of elderly people, post DVT, who need to know this. You know what advice you need, so please look elsewhere ad don't criticise professionals for doing their job

I paid for procedures at a private, specialist vein clinic in London, after I lost seven years of my life to leg ulcers, which not one health professional, in our NHS, told me about. I had to delve and delve and research this all myself. The procedures I got were carried out by Professor Mark Whiteley of the Whiteley Clinics. He pioneered laser surgery, performing the first radio-frequency ablation in the UK in 1999. He once worked as a vascular surgeon for the NHS, but broke away when he knew that venous patients were being done a disservice. I have gone on to help and point numerous people in the right direction, who have lived in compression for 30 years and had no clue they could be cured or at least HUGELY improved. So stuff your pathetic layman advice and take it somewhere else🖕

I have paid for the correct procedures and am now cured, but not before I lost 7 years of my life to venous ulcers through no fault of my own. I have helped numerous venous insufficiency patients who have been in compression for 30 years with not a clue that they could be cured or the very least HUGELY improved. Cost me £6,000 in 2018, and was the best money I ever spent. The sad thing is the NHS have these procedures in their NICE Guidelines, without the experts to carry them out.

I received no information about PEs or exercise other than the Anticoagulant booklet. So yes we all need more information and help on this as I am struggling
Debbie Ferguson when I left the hospital after I had my clot I asked the nurse directly about what exercise was safe to do and was walking safe and she had said that was fine but to stop if it hurt or I was puffed out.

I have had so much conflicting advice from the hospital and GPs and have had a lot of anxiety about the clot breaking off and going to my lungs if I excersise. This had given me confidence that if I get slightly out of breath walking that I will be ok, which before was a major source of anxiety for me. I wish my hospital had a service like the RUH
Good video! But you need to check with your doctor first because I heard that a clot could break off snd go to your lungs or something. I know there’s a foot pedal machine or massager but I want to wait until I am completely healed and no clots left. Thanks for the video So sad that I was discharged from the hospital after an operation for PE/DVT and was not told what to do. After months of recuperating at home, I decided to go and play basketball and do some 'military-style' exercises but after the second session, I felt some discomfort. As a result, I stopped. However, this discomfort has developed into sharp pains in my right chest. I have been to the Cardiology hospital. That area is not their speciality but offered some help. My dosage of Rivaroxabán was increased from 15 mg to 20 mg. That was last month. This month I had to revert back to taking 15mg since there's a shortage of the 20mg which some doctors are prescribing to their COVID patients. The hospital that specializes in Pulmonary issues in Mexico City has for the last 6 months decided to see only COVID patients! So I'm left hanging...
Hi all, I’m curious as to if anyone that’s previously had a DVT knows how to get rid of the ache/pain that still occurs when doing something like walking for 30mins to an hour and just stays there for days. I was diagnosed with my DVT about 2 years ago, i was on my anticoagulant for the time they told me to and they recommended I stay on them for life as my DVT was unprovoked, I refused and have been off them ever since. I’m trying to find a natural way I can just restore my legs health to somewhat of what it used to be and actually be able to walk longer than 30mins… anything’s that helped you pls do leave a comment, would much appreciate it!
Dear person who is reading this! I am a 25 year old young man who has a DVT that affected my right arm. It's located right underneath my right collarbone (vena Subclavia). This incident has happened exactly 8 months ago, and after my Doppler ultrasound test the doctors determined that the blockade went down from 60% to 30%. My doctors suggested that I start doing the exercises with 1kg and 2kg weights. Could you perhaps make a video about what type of exercises I should be doing? I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in this subject, and not the only one suffering like this. Thank you in forward!
Just got released today from the hospital because of this and they want to put me on Xarelto. This is my second DVT/PE, the first time was 10 years ago and I was pregnant with my second child. My insurance may not cover my medication 🙁

Thank you for the professional advice about exercise as a rehab. I was examined by the cardiologist who pronounced that I have Ihd. They gave me a lump of medicine together with an antihypertensive I was already using. I had shortness of breath and I decided to walk to give my heart muscles some workout. The first few days walking a km was hard as I use to have shortness of breath. Now after four weeks I walk approx 15 -20 km a day. Do you think walking this much is ok or I have to reduce my walking? Please respond. I'm 62 and a little obese. I've incorporated lifestyle change in diet as well.

I have had such difficulty finding any information on how much exercise I can do after my unprovoked pulmonary emboli; my GP could offer no guidance at all. I was Nordic walking before the diagnosis and I'm still not sure whether, or when, I can start doing that again as it is a strong exercise for the upper body. Can anybody advise on this? Thanks
I was diagnosed with a PE on Tuesday and my work is already asking if I’ll be back tomorrow. Which is a very physically demanding job. It’s stressing me out if I’m honest, it’s all very new and scary as this is my first health problem and the medication is scary to. I don’t know when I can go back safely.

@@diauser3327 Yes and hello Dia. he is on blood thinners and is ongoing. out of hospital and was in pain for about 6 weeks because they had to use a needle to extract some fluid trapped between the lung on rib area and is common with lung clots. back at work because we are in the country area and no covid cases here.

Does chest pain occur...? I was not told about any exercise.... And do u smoke...? It is hard to quite smoking..Leg hurts while walking...?

Dvt in legs still there? My 1 left leg have dvt. Can given execerises is suitable for dvt patients? My vasular surgeon not told ang excerise to do so.

I was diagnosed with a PE on Tuesday and my work is already asking if I’ll be back tomorrow. Which is a very physically demanding job. It’s stressing me out if I’m honest, it’s all very new and scary as this is my first health problem and the medication is scary to. I don’t know when I can go back safely.

I have Acute DVT in my arm 3 blood clots in 3 different veins. I am recovering from breast cancer and I still have a port in because I am now on blood thinners for a while. Are these exercises for me as well .

I am just 18 and have suffered DVT-UE (brachial, axillary and subclavian vein), upper right arm, can you pls suggest me a few exercises which my doctors may have missed out, i am currently suffering severe post-thrombotic syndrome, and have extreme pain using my dominant arm (right) for daily activities, currently cannot write or drive.

I would like to know too. My partner is atm in hospital from a clot in calf muscle and passed along to lung . Wanting to know ongoing help after the fact.

@@diauser3327 Yes and hello Dia. he is on blood thinners and is ongoing. out of hospital and was in pain for about 6 weeks because they had to use a needle to extract some fluid trapped between the lung on rib area and is common with lung clots. back at work because we are in the country area and no covid cases here.

what are you clot symptoms? is it just pain?
@@diauser3327 it was small clot which was not visible much but light purple-pinkish. Pain in that area. And it went away in 2 days.
