    I was a strict vegetarian for a few years, and last year I developed anorexia. I’ve experienced muscle wasting, extremely dry skin , bone loss, depression, and lethargy. After doing a lot of research, I decided Keto looked like the way to go. So far so good. I’m feeling great and have my energy back. Thanks so much for posting this video. I believe Keto has literally saved my life.

    • @WatchingMyLifeFlashB
      @WatchingMyLifeFlashB 5 років тому +27

      @@cclhenergy4855 Yup, the brown paper bag. And, that was long before the recycling craziness. That was when everything was reused & next to nothing went in the trash. Popsicle sticks were washed, maybe even soaked in a weak bleach or lemon solution to remove the stain. Toilet tissue inner tubes became crafts. Plastic bread bags were braided into rugs. Cloth diapers double dutied as burping pads & after successful potty training retired the intended use, they remained in daily use as cleaning rags. Plastic mesh potato & onion bags/sacks were rolled to serve as kitchen scrub pads. Cloth flours sacks were turned into kitchen towels. Onion peels were saved for dying yarn & cloth, hence the titles (red & yellow onions when they to the shopper, they appear purple & tan.) White onion peels were used in making homemade writing paper that faintly smelled of onion. A cake was only declared done & removed from the oven after you had plucked a twig out of the nearby kitchen broom, stuck the straw it into the cake, & it had come out clean.
      And of course, Mom would suddenly lick her thumb or finger, & you'd run like hell. Why? Because she was going to use her spit to 'clean' some dirt, grime, or smudge off of your face. Ewww! The memory can still send a shiver up my spine. Yuck!
      And, yes, even coffee grounds were saved to be added to gardens, stain blemishes in wood, or on an emergency to shine up muddy boots or shoes.
      Brown paper bags were no cost construction paper, used in the fireplace, & commonly used as heavy duty reusable patterns in sewing projects. The bags, which were much thicker & more durable back then, were stapled to the underside of kitchen chairs, folded & then wedged under one foot of the kitchen table so the it didn't wobble, used to cover outgoing parcels, etc etc as well as obligatory draining of fried chicken, fries, & the like. My mom would have four curved pieces around the edge of a cake while she was frosting it, then carefully remove them so the cake plate was perfectly neat & tidy for display.

Just like you, I have tried coconut flour, almond flour, or a blend of the two to use as a flour to coat my chicken which never really came out very well (just "do-able"), and still did have some carbs in it, "BUT HOW INGENIOUS OF YOU" to get the idea to use 100% whey protein powder to coat the chicken which is "0%" carbs and has the same flour texture and end result like those high carb flours!!! Excellent idea with the protein powder...used 12 bone in& skin on thighs. Made 1.5 times protein powder & doubled herb mixture w 1/2 regular paprika & 1/2 smoked paprika w extra garlic powder & salt due to having only celery seed, not celery salt. Like others said, it takes 15 to 20 min. total depending on thicknesss & flipping half way. Fried in organic refined coconut oil, so no coconut flavor. My husband & son loved it and they don't like many keto modifications. It was so crispy, moist, & tasted great! A little messy and worst than flour when getting on your fingers though. Hint...only use a small portion of powder mix in a plate, so it all doesn't get gooey at one time. In the end, so crispy!

    The flash boiling water inside the wet batter should equalize the pressure of the oil soaking in. Doesn't work if the oil is cold of if its fried too long and all the water evaporates, you just get oil soaked batter and oily chicken. Test for hot oil with a wood chopstick or spoon.

    this looks so amazing only 2 things id disagree with...1. putting the chicken in the grease before its all the way I hot..I noticed when you first put it in there was no sizzling and grease was still warming up, when I do that my chicken doesn't come out crunchy the way I like it and the crisp fall off...2. putting protein inside of protein powder on keto is a little iffy to me I think I'm going to use almond flour and pork rinds because having too much protein on keto can kick you right out of ketosis but I really do love how the chicken came out especially in the air fryer I'm so scared to fry my chicken in the air fryer lol

    these can also be done in a pressure cooker..
    use only a cup and a half of oil and only keep pressure cooker on until pressure is built.
    then remove from heat and let it cook.
    the trick is to simply get oil to 375c then fry chicken for 3 minutes or until golden... then when temp has dropped to 220c put on lid and then build pressure.. when pressure valve has activated, take of heat and let it cook either on low heat or off heat for the remaining 7-9 minutes.
    then when done, release pressure and only open lid when all pressure is released.. chicken will still be cooking.. so drain chicken and put into low temp oven of around 120/140c and let rest in oven for 20 mins on a rack to remove any excess oil..
    then you're done.
