@@earthtoimaniIf I may chime in. What you say is true but MPW continues to talk about them MS while having given it back in 1999 thus now becoming highly philosophical and therefore all bark no bite while Gordon and his team have managed to keep his flagship at 3 Michelin Stars for 23 years straight. Not to mention those he mentored getting MS themselves, Angela Hartnett, Mark Sargeant, Marcus Wareing, Claire Smyth, Paul Ainsworth among others. Marco may not have had his stars reduces but now he has no stars compared to Gordon's 8 Stars across his fine dining places. Essentially, Marcos been out of the Michelin Star game for 25 years and is relegated to home cooking and giving lectures at various colleges which doesn't impress me. I can respect his talent and accomplishments but he's more on the backburner now and would have never been able to lean into social media and television and the likes as Gordon has imo.
@@earthtoimani Fair points. I'm not familiar with the 5 red knives or forks thing so if you could explain that one to me i'd appreciate it. Also i'm sure your aware Michelin Stars are awarded to the restaurant not the chef although the owner would get the recognition and share it instead of a building which cannot accept anything. And yes i've heard that Michelin has changed the way they hand out stars but since GR flagship got its stars in 2001, i don't believe they had been changed at that point and therefore he got them legitimetly. Regarding the downfall from 19 to 8 Stars, do you really find that surprising or did you think he was going to be able to maintain about 20 Michelin Stars for 30 years? I'm aware Claridges lost a star i think and eventually closed in 2010 with no stars due to consistency issues as i think that was a main reason why his MS dropped. But still his team is helping him maintain more MS then MPW had in his career so that's a point for GR imo. Regarding Petrus and other MS restaurants, it is owned by Gordon Ramsay so while Marcus at least for Petrus was in the kitchen at the time of the getting the MS, the recognition would go to the owner aka Gordon who would then share the accomplishment with his team aka Marcus and the kitchen staff you know before the fallout happened. Regarding Murano's, Gordon did not lose it to Angela, she bought it off him outright as i understand it because it was a co-venture where they both opened, owned and operated it since 2008. And because she wanted her independence and to be 100% owner similar to GR with the owner of Aubergine (A-Z Restaurant Group owned the place, GR was the head chef not the owner), she bought it off him and is now entirely hers. However it did obtain 1 Michelin Star in 2009 when they both co-owned it untill the sale in 2010. I believe Murano's still has that Michelin Star till now. Regarding GR being in the kitchen for his other MS places, he has never claimed to have earned them himself, he has always mentioned that the success is by the team in the kitchen. Even at the anniversary of his flagship RGR which he did rightfully earn, he constantly thanks and acknowledges the team for helping him maintain it. So while he may have never been behind the stove at the other MS restaurants he owes, he acknowledges those who are. If he had said i did it, it's all me, i owe it, i got the stars etc then that point would factor in for me but because of the reason stated above, it doesn't. Furthermore, the other GR MS restaurants has his vision & mission, direction of the restaurant, marketing strategy, goals, finacial backing, talent acquistion etc which the kitchen operations rely on to do the job properly and market themselves to a hopefully sustainable level etc hence why the MS recognition goes to the owner or the leader regardless of who's in the kitchen and for me goes to the quiver of GR who has earned all 8 Stars. Maybe indirectly but legitimetly nonetheless. (this point may have been mentioned a few times here but in different ways, indulge me please :)).

You will be surprised, even in our own lives, how many people have horrible, even disrespectful, listening skills.
I love McConaughey and almost everything he does. But come on “plugging his alcohol brand and the type of alcohol “tequila” as the one alcohol that isn’t a depressant? I like him almost enough to believe that….but selling it as a truth is contrary to all he usually stands for. And one too many shots…or one more dollar to the account. Not a “green light”.

Talks slow and articulate and southern , very spiritual feel . And Gordon is still articulate but talks quickly and very fast paced . It’s so enjoyable to watch them come together and talk about similarities
They seemed to get on so well which made this so fun to watch. Matthew keen to learn and pick up tips. Gordon just being himself and listening. I swear Gordon isn't phased by anyone. He could meet the King, Kim Jong.. Even Jesus Christ and he'd still talk to them like he's known them for years. I wish I had that ability.

The cue cards were funny beside the frying pan for Gordon!! 🤣 I love how Mathew is so calm and relaxed and Gordon is always so hyped up so this was a good balance!! Mathew and his wife sound so grounded and cool and they are the type of neighbours who invite anyone and everyone over for a bbq and swim … not celebs, just the neighbourhood folk. I imagine him living in a non gated community and so unpretentious and cool… he may act but the neighbour who is a brick layer or plumber Mathew would treat as just another hard worker… you can tell he appreciates all who just go to work and work hard… ya know? Gordon came from nothing and has worked his tail off for everything he has too! Nothing sexier than a hard working man! The world is so messed up and we are ALL working our asses off for groceries , gasoline, hydro bill, and so on and so on… My mantra is always you can always make something outta nothing… these days creativity for meals is almost dire. It's nice watching Gordon do a video where it isn't some sort of timed rushed thing. Just taking their time, enjoying the process of cooking while talking. And it had to be Matthew as the guest for this to happen ;)
This was awesome. Just two dudes cooking and talking. Not script, no agenda.
There was a script you can see it on the table at 4:48
@@shadyz8181 Looks less like a script and more like talking points on individual cards, to avoid getting stuck on a topic or fumbling to find one. A script is clean, learned and set in stone. This looks more like they vaguely outlined what they wanna talk about, put out cards to remind themselves in case it's needed and then just went to cooking and yapping about said topics.
@ nope defo not
Well, the agenda was to cook steak and, maybe more importantly agenda wise, give Matthew some free marketing for his tequila and book as a payment for his participation in this video...
@@MrStensnask LOL, I stand corrected! :)
I’m a mom of 2 (21yrs and 14yrs) I could happily watch and listen to these two amazing guys everyday …. When I finish work of course lol 👍🏼🇬🇧
Met Gordon about a month ago. Super nice guy, very humble and pleasant to talk too.
very cool to hear.
Dang! How'd that happen?!
@@thinglizzy0405 got some intel on the filing of kitchen nightmares location. Showed up and got my cookbook signed too. I’m in law enforcement as is his Daughter. He’s a huge advocate of police.
@@ellispoo44 thank you
Tell us a story lol
Not Much of a Chef Ramsay Fan - But I Love This Version of Gordon - So Natural - So Wholesome - PURE GOLD!!!
Relax. Gordon is a normal human
You like the person but not the character that they portray, happens all the time!
Nice backhanded compliment on HIS channel 🙄
Yes. Gordon is a very sensitive person in reality, and the TV dramas where he is yelling are a scripted version for the ratings, and it worked. He is very grounded and not at all abusive or uncaring. He is a real softy actually
anybody who has watched gordon over the decades knows that he isnt as harsh as he is on his programmes. when he has been harsh its from pure passion and wanting the person hes yelling at to listen and succeed. i would follow men like gordon into war. a full on leader willing to give everything to make a difference
The conversations these two are having. It's like they are brothers spending time together, talking about their lives. Wow. ❤❤
typical guys that are comfortable. we never finish a point or topic, we chat, shoot the shit. it's like therapy
Just want to say being Scottish myself the way that you both blended together and clicked it was amazing to see, both genuine hard working men gone through the wringer and doing the best for ya families. All the best what a journey! Keep your pants on! Cheers boys 🥃
'Don't write impressively, write honestly and personally' that will be a reminder for me when I write myself. ❤
🤣 who else thought it was a bag of weed?
Me haha
It is 😂 but they dont want to say it in front of the camera 😎✌🏻
LMAO
Nah Matt keeps that in the OTHER pocket
😂
Food will always bring people together.
Wow. I never knew how deep the myth of tequila being an “upper” ran in society until I heard Mathew McConaughey say it 😂
Awesome Video
0:24 That was a good dap
Slap not a dap
We call it a handshake or "5"
I personally don't like cooking, but who doesn't like steak. :3
Lmao that wasn't a dap.... Tell us you're white without saying you're white
@nuclearfish010 because im asian? Tf u on boi
Is this the most wholesome thing on YT right now?
lol Gordon handing him paper towels as Matt licks his fingers 😂😂,, love these two
Now these are two gentlemen who really deserve being famous. What a content and what a chemistry between these lads, love this.
Absolutely superb. What a gracious, refreshing UA-cam video. Both Gordon and Matthew being themselves, enjoying the moment and sharing it. Thanks guys, keep. It up! We all need down to earth positivity and charm like this at the moment! 👍
Wow! Never imagined seeing these two together. Nice episode!
I love how down to earth the conversation is between you and Matthew. Personal reflections and familiar values resonates immensely.
I was randomly watching this on my big flat screen, when I got SO HUNGRY for steak, I can hardly stand it. Watched it because I love Matt McConaughey. I admire that he's a laid-back, intelligent family man. Also enjoyed seeing Gordon Ramsey so chill. I never could watch his tv show because of the yelling and PTSD. Subscribing to see who else he has on. Great relaxing show, gentlemen,
I love this, I've heard Matt is a humble guy and it truly shows. You can really tell that they're both down to earth guys, who love what they do and especially love their families.
Gordon is so polite and humble. So nice! Matthew is sooo awesome as always..
polite & humble????? hahahahahaha when has this man even been that? It's an edited You-Tube video lol
Polite and Humble? Wow!
@@charlesjay8818you rlly think gordon screams at random people in real life?
@@iaminsfiredbytrustfration8502 don't really care, he stopped being a top chef years ago when he chased fame and fortune by being a obnoxious foul mouth TV celebrity. He's so desperate to be famous and important and the centre of attention he has lost the plot
I feel like this is what happens when an introvert with social anxiety and a very chill extrovert hang out.
Yes! It's palpable and yet I still watched because it's THEM. ❤
They work well together and it’s very entertaining to watch!
@MikeHudspeth 💯 At first, I wasn't sure it would flow because initially they seem so different, but it did. Men are so good at bonding during activities. I'm taking notes! 🔥🙌✨️
Haha I love it! Yes they end up figuring out their synergy through conversation
Who is the introvert? 🤣
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and declare that after decades of living throughout the US, I love Texas and Texans. The closest there is to being in Mexico. Don't Mess With Texas.
Matthew is such an inspirational guy! Gordon genuinely listening
It's just like what Buster Moon said, "There's only way left to go, and that's up."
Two humble dedicated family men cooking together & having a great time. Miss my brother.
God bless you and your brother. You'll see him again one day.❤
Matt was so concerned about the amount of oil usage 😂
Texas boy used to cookin with butter
He knew that the US Army were preparing to invade...
I love how gorden is actually sharing and showing his personality in this one. He's more than a master chef, he's a master Person!! In general. And Mathew, no words. He's just the best person on earth. Love the movies dude👍
It’s so interesting with these two . Almost like two sides of the same coin they are both family men , successful , down to earth but Matthew is a smell the roses type person .
The reality and them both being genuine is amazing.
You two have my utmost respect as human beings. Mucho amor desde Guatemala.
Love the authenticity, feels like more banter between two friends than anything. Thanks for capturing
They truly should make this a netflix series, guaranteed hit! loved chemistry between the 2 legends as well!
I loved this!!! MM is my kinda compadre. Chill, good values, family first, honesty!
31 Minutes and 18 Seconds well worth watching, realistic conversations !!!
We need an entire Matthew & Gordon Series! I would watch every episode
In the '90s the dutch began to breed the bitterness out of brussels sprouts after identifying the compounds responsible for it. Leading to its increased popularity.
I love Brussels sprouts!
Damn, and they still taste too bitter for me.
Love Matthew McConaughey. He and Gordon are like best mates; Gordon seems so relaxed, which isn't normal for him 😅.
Love how you talk about dinner with kids. Miss when our kids were home and we each talked about our favorite parts of our day. So fun.
3:48 Looks like a bag of weed. 😂😂
It doesn't
❤
He got that too
McConaughey about to lose a finger with that cutting technique.
Immediately had the same thought!!
The first thing that came to my mind. It was very close.
Yeah I feared that, but he was being very slow with it and watching what he was doing.
@@13Xerro like, thats the way how people who arent professional cooks cut their food lol
I saw that! And Gordon kept telling him to watch his fingers lol! 😂
Whoo these two have really a good chemistry. I love how chill Gordon is and Matthew is just amazing. An open talk about what u do, what i do. Good stuff.
Love that UA-cam is the new tv, this is much more entertaining and intimate.
Great format. Two guys having a real conversation while cooking some good food. Love it.
Clear spoken, relatable drama free! How much I miss old school media😅
One of the best videos i've seen humanity produce. Love their chemistry. Just love these 2 studs
I like watching Gordon cook in real time instead of these quick edits.
Ribeye steak with pico de gallo unscrambled eggs now that's my kind of meal
To each their own. You treated that ribeye like. NY strip. I eat that steak whole. I never cut it in slices.
Great watch, the interview actually took over the cooking which wasn't bad at all. Could listen to these two all day.
Nothing beats two grown ass men handling their meat so beautifully with bromance. Bravo!
Fuck I love the way you wrote this 😩🤤🤤🤤
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about??
ayoo?
The cue cards were funny beside the frying pan for Gordon!! 🤣
I love how Mathew is so calm and relaxed and Gordon is always so hyped up so this was a good balance!!
The world is so messed up and we are ALL working our asses off for groceries , gasoline, hydro bill, and so on and so on…
My mantra is always you can always make something outta nothing… these days creativity for meals is almost dire.
Merry Christmas , happy Hannukah and happy Kwanza everyone ! Be safe and well. ☃️🎄🕎🤗🇨🇦
I wish this video was longer. They need to come out with a second part in the future of them collaborating together.
This is not just a food channel ....This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and I will support this channel till I'm an old woman. 👍🥰🥰
I loved methew mccougney as Rust Cohle

Easily my favorite role he's ever played.
@@gdoumithe has so many unreal ones, I would say True Detective is in a league of its own. My top 3 are 1) Rust 2) Cooper 3) Ron Woodruff
One of the greatest character portrayals of all time
What I admire most is how well these two worked in the kitchen together. I kinda figured Ramsey could comfortably work with anyone, but Mathew really was just comfortable with what he was doing with Ramsey. Beautiful.
That was the most chill youtube video ive watched in a while. Just two successful dudes talking about family, career and life. They both seemed to really enjoy the conversation.
В России, Метью уважают! Гордона тоже! Но в одном видео это просто супер!!!)
Love this, two incredible humans just chatting and making steak and eggs.. Love Matthew, what a dude..
When the video ended, I realised that I smiled the entire time 🥰 Outstanding collab! 🩷
