Im new to keto, but already in 1 week dropped my fasting uncontrolled blood sugars from the 230-250 range, down to 149 on last check!! I'm going to start tapering off my meds! @@RuledMe sun dried tomatoes are high in sugar..one very small serving would do it for the carbs. While it looks delicious I'll have to wait til my "off" time to eat that.
@@richardbaumgart2454 That's totally up to you. I do include the full nutrition breakdown of every ingredient in the respective recipe (all linked in the description). The sun-dried tomatoes does bring 23.4g net carbs to the dish but it also makes 6 servings, so it's just under 4g net carbs per serving that it's adding. If you don't think you can afford the extra 4g net carbs, I'd definitely hold off.
@@richardbaumgart2454 And half that meal would be 23.8g net carbs, so you'd still be within ketogenic ranges if you were doing OMAD. Again, feel free to omit them or choose one of the other hundreds of recipes available if that doesn't fit into your requirements.

I made the creamy sundried tomato and chicken recipe and was very concerned at first when the cheese that I coated the chicken with stuck to the bottom of the pan and turned into a big clump of cheese. I proceeded with the recipe and in the end, everything worked out and it was absolutely fantastic! My husband, who hates leftovers, said he wanted it for lunch the next day, and again for dinner! Now that's saying a lot!!! Woohoo!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
@@seankieng There are 23.5 net carbs per cup of sun-dried tomatoes. So, since one cup was used in this recipe, and there are six chicken thighs, it works out to be less than 4 carbs worth of sun-dried tomato per chicken thigh. Not bad!
There are different things you can try to get parmesan crust to adhere properly to chicken. 1. Bring the chicken up to room temp before cooking to help the cheese and chicken scorch evenly and fuse. 2. Lightly salt the chicken while you're waiting, this will pull moisture from the surface, and use a paper towel to dry the skin completely before cooking. 3. After dry use a small amount of oil on the chicken to act as a binder for the parmesan and give better heat transfer for even cooking of the crust. 4. Use a MUCH smaller grate than what was used in the video; even if you get these pre-packaged with the larger shavings like you see in the video, they can be quickly chopped or even crushed by hand. 5. Hot, HOT pan, and DO NOT DISTURB - unless you have an industrial stove, 80 or 90% heat will probably be best, and DO NOT try to move/flip your chicken until you start to see a golden color around the bottom edge. But following the recipe to a T isn't necessarily bad either, as you point out any trouble with the cheese coming off gets rectified as it gets reincorporated into the dish without ruining the flavor, so this is a very forgiving recipe.
Stated keto 5 days ago and already feel so much better. Made the bacon/ cabbage with a little onion and added an egg on top, like someone mentioned. I'm eating it as I'm writing this and OMG! My new favorite breakfast! Thank you so much!

@@Mcgolfball11 Depends on which recipe it is. Cream cheese can work as a replacement, or feta cheese. Or you can just use shredded mozzarella or something similar if it's a topping.

Yesterday I needed a quick recipe for dinner, so I made the broccoli and chicken. Again, so simple and delicious! The evening before, I made the chicken stir fry and paired it with cauliflower rice. Excellent!! So four out of four grandslams! We are so impressed with your recipes. Simply outstanding! 👏👏👏
I’m starting keto next week, done it before and it really worked albeit a few years ago cauliflower rice is the way to go. I mix it with broccoli. Add some frozen peas bag it into portions and freeze it, simple and easy to whack it in the microwave for 2-3 mins to steam and use with r3cipes like this

I love that you showed different options for cooking fats! I have always used veg oil or butter for everything but since I'm cutting out all the vegtable oils, it's nice to know what I can use instead! Can't wait to try these!

My son made me a similar meal. Sliced caggage really fine and cooked it in butter with Garlic and lemon. Then he added sardines. I turned my nose up at first, but it was really nice and I asked for more.

You're very welcome! Just a quick word of advice: if you are feeding keto recipes to your partner and they eat high-carb otherwise, just be a bit careful. A high-fat diet in combination with high-carb is going to be quite unhealthy in the long-term.
You can definitely add some onion to it but apple is too high in carbs for keto when you're using it in a stir-fry like this. I'd recommend using thin strips of bell pepper or something else that's sweeter but on the lower-carb side.
For the cabbage bacon one, when the bacon is half-fully cooked, i like to add a scrambled egg mixture in it and mix it till the egg and bacon fully cook and then i add the cabbage and seasonings. Its delicious!
Our family tried the Philly Cheesesteak Skillet Meal. Excellent taste, but we all agreed, the recipe tells you to get a masher out and mash the meat and cauliflower. This gave it a bit of a grainy texture under the cheese which was not pleasing. Don't mash it, make it small pieces, but don't mash...it would have been perfect had we left the food more chunky.
Today I decided to make some of these for myself and my parents. I made the: *Cabbage and bacon* - 4/10 - I rushed it as it was the last dish I was making and had little time left, not much flavour *Creamy chicken thighs with tomato* - 8/10 LOVED THEM SO MUCH, the flavour was amazing and I absolutely love cheese, however maybe I added just a bit too much cheese *Cauliflower egg fried rice* - 10/10 AMAZING! Whenever my mum asks me if I want takeout I’ll normally say no, or sometimes get egg fried rice, it’s nice but after having it I feel so bloated and full. However THIS. THIS WAS AMAZING. I loved it SO MUCH. Didn’t even taste like cauliflower!! I also added some peas. Tysm for these recipes, will definitely be trying more :)
Sorry to hear you didn't like the cabbage and bacon dish. You should definitely cook it down until the cabbage begins to caramelize but it is a pretty basic recipe so you can always add extra spices or onion/garlic to help give it some additional flavor. Happy you did enjoy the others, though!
I'm starting up on keto and I've heard it is one of the hardest diets out there, so these are gonna be helpful with getting enough nutrition while sticking to the plan
I guess it all depends on what you enjoy eating. If you like eating some fish/meat and plenty of (mostly green) vegetables, it's really not that difficult to follow. I hope some of the recipes on the channel help - good luck!
A hint of cutting up bacon and ground beef is to do it while still frozen or mostly Frozen. With an ordinary butchers knife as seen in this video. When the meat is a little stiff, it's easy to cut up without it sliding around and making a mess. I cut mine, spread it out, then leave it to finish defrosting, which now takes way less time because it's in smaller pieces.

@@powerhouse8338 Keto has been shown to reduce blood pressure. High-fat diets have been shown to be healthy, as well. If you're on keto and you're avoiding salt, you can be putting excess strain on your kidneys as well. Feel free to adjust the butter to your preferences or replace with whatever oil you like best.
@@powerhouse8338 she’s right on course for TRUE keto because higher fat is great for KETO because she used lower fat beef and chicken thighs. Unless you’re eating the entire pan in one sitting, it’s perfect. You can always switch to Nu-salt or Hymalyan pink Salt. There are always options or you can also use non salted butter!

This cabbage and bacon is one of my favorite go-to meals, quick, simple and so satisfying. Sometimes I add a fried egg on top of each serving--heaven!

@@nishienish26 No, most bacon will have a negligible amount of sugar in it. You can always get uncured bacon though, which typically won't use sugar.

I would introduce herbs, lettuce, grated celery and carrots. I would be concerned that this diet ignores the benefits of vitamins and minerals also.

My son made me a similar meal. Sliced caggage really fine and cooked it in butter with Garlic and lemon. Then he added sardines. I turned my nose up at first, but it was really nice and I asked for more.

Fat is flavor when it comes to cooking. You can eat a super boring, depressing diet on keto or you can eat super colorful and flavorful meals. It really comes down to what you're cooking. Glad you like the look of these, though!

You're very welcome! Just a quick word of advice: if you are feeding keto recipes to your partner and they eat high-carb otherwise, just be a bit careful. A high-fat diet in combination with high-carb is going to be quite unhealthy in the long-term.

Cabbage and bacon are good, but adding apple and onion is heaven.
You can definitely add some onion to it but apple is too high in carbs for keto when you're using it in a stir-fry like this. I'd recommend using thin strips of bell pepper or something else that's sweeter but on the lower-carb side.
For the cabbage bacon one, when the bacon is half-fully cooked, i like to add a scrambled egg mixture in it and mix it till the egg and bacon fully cook and then i add the cabbage and seasonings. Its delicious!

Our family tried the Philly Cheesesteak Skillet Meal. Excellent taste, but we all agreed, the recipe tells you to get a masher out and mash the meat and cauliflower. This gave it a bit of a grainy texture under the cheese which was not pleasing. Don't mash it, make it small pieces, but don't mash...it would have been perfect had we left the food more chunky.
Today I decided to make some of these for myself and my parents. I made the:
*Cabbage and bacon* - 4/10 - I rushed it as it was the last dish I was making and had little time left, not much flavour
*Creamy chicken thighs with tomato* - 8/10 LOVED THEM SO MUCH, the flavour was amazing and I absolutely love cheese, however maybe I added just a bit too much cheese
*Cauliflower egg fried rice* - 10/10 AMAZING! Whenever my mum asks me if I want takeout I’ll normally say no, or sometimes get egg fried rice, it’s nice but after having it I feel so bloated and full. However THIS. THIS WAS AMAZING. I loved it SO MUCH. Didn’t even taste like cauliflower!! I also added some peas.

Sorry to hear you didn't like the cabbage and bacon dish. You should definitely cook it down until the cabbage begins to caramelize but it is a pretty basic recipe so you can always add extra spices or onion/garlic to help give it some additional flavor.

I'm starting up on keto and I've heard it is one of the hardest diets out there, so these are gonna be helpful with getting enough nutrition while sticking to the plan
I guess it all depends on what you enjoy eating. If you like eating some fish/meat and plenty of (mostly green) vegetables, it's really not that difficult to follow. I hope some of the recipes on the channel help - good luck!

A hint of cutting up bacon and ground beef is to do it while still frozen or mostly Frozen. With an ordinary butchers knife as seen in this video. When the meat is a little stiff, it's easy to cut up without it sliding around and making a mess. I cut mine, spread it out, then leave it to finish defrosting, which now takes way less time because it's in smaller pieces.

@@RuledMe To much butter in some and salt. Ppl with high blood pressure wouldn't live long. I like the one's with out the butter.
@@powerhouse8338 Keto has been shown to reduce blood pressure. High-fat diets have been shown to be healthy, as well. If you're on keto and you're avoiding salt, you can be putting excess strain on your kidneys as well. Feel free to adjust the butter to your preferences or replace with whatever oil you like best.
@@powerhouse8338 she’s right on course for TRUE keto because higher fat is great for KETO because she used lower fat beef and chicken thighs. Unless you’re eating the entire pan in one sitting, it’s perfect. You can always switch to Nu-salt or Hymalyan pink Salt. There are always options or you can also use non salted butter!
