Just found you on UA-cam today as I just bought the IP Duo Crisp today. Looking for recipes to cook/crisp and am enjoying your videos. I have a dumb question though. Why not use the broil/dehydrating tray when making these burgers? Just wondering. And don't worry I already hit the subscribe button and clicked on the bell for notifications. ;) Also I am wondering, if I find recipes to make in the Foodi, would that be interchangeable as far as time and such when making in the IP Duo Crisp?
The dehydrating tray hinders air circulation in my opinion...but it might work just fine...and I have not found one single video that will not interchange with the foodi...they function very similar...thanks for subscribing and thank you for watching!!!
Easiest and best hamburger I’ve ever cooked!! I followed the simple directions of spraying the insert and trivet, and cooked 2 burgers at 375 for 20 minutes! 👍
Thanks Babydoll (this is my wife y'all)...I'm glad you enjoyed my recipe...I hate I was out grocery shopping and not here to to see you in action...lol...and of course...thanks for watching!!!...oh and for washing my clothes and stuff...lol
I just LOVE this GENTLEMAN! It’s like talk, talk, talk AND MY POINT IT... Oh, he’s so much fun to watch! Thank you for your hard work, I enjoy the videos
Ordered my unit this evening and got what I thought was a great deal , With tax it was only $160. Going to work on having great times.. Thanks for the videos, they are great.
Just bought this Instant Pot Duo Crisp and I’m learning how to use it. I stumbled upon your videos and I really like them. You are very helpful with these tips! Keep the videos and food ideas coming!! I’ve subscribed to tour channel! Thank you for your help and information 🙂
Right on cue John, your pup showed up to supervise your cooking of the burgers at around the 4min mark... Did not notice before on small screen. Following your vid now, getting a bite ready... Awesome!
That's is great... let me know what you think and my doggy is my partner...lol... they both love to watch and wait for me to drop something...lol...thanks for watching!!!
I agree...that does make them even better...have tried that kind of bread yet?...Sara Lee Atesano...it is excellent and the loaf bread makes toast that is to die for...thanks for watching!
Foodi must have the hinge lid patented. I cannot think working with that bulky lid on and off and on and off would make kitchen time enjoyable. One is like owning a dishwasher and the other is like owning a kitchen sink and a drip rack. Super good to watch your videos so we can see what a royal nuisance that lid is. I have two instant pots, an Ultra 8 and just got a Duo Evo Plus 6. Love them. I also have a Foodi Deluxe 8. Keep them all on the counters and take turns using them all. Keep up the good work much appreciated!!!!!!
I think the lid is gong to be one of those things people either love or hate...I cannot honestly make up my mind...I do like the fact the unit is lighter and easier to store in most cabinets but I really like the ceramic coating ninja uses...and I can see your point on raising a hinged lid is easier...but I guess I just don't know yet...anyhow...thanks for your comments and for watching!!!
I have the Duo Crisp and find the lid to not be much of an issue. Once we figured out where to store it in our kitchen we were gold. I just didn't think I would like the non detectable hinged lid, it just seems to be somewhat of an odd design choice.
Can't afford that instant pot. I already have a duo plus with the sous vide setting. Might get a mealthy crisping lid. Your burgers look great. Thanks for sharing!
The cheese melts and runs slowly it doesn't all slide off the burger which is what hoop cheese does best! I like a good pink Burger medium-rare in the center to medium. My father wanted it cooked like the bottom of a shoe and it made me tell him how wrong he was May he rest in peace now.
Love your videos. The Foodi cooks at 450 if need be where this max out at 400. Also I’d rather lift a swinging lid that feels like a half pound than lift a lid of almost 7 pounds and look for a safe place to lay it down on a busy counter top.
I love the foodi too...I think they both have their advantages but I have used a foodi for over a year and it is an excellent device...thanks for watching!
As far as I know those hamburger rolls were always called chubs. I would have pulled those hamburgers for carry over because you can even rest your hamburgers for 10 minutes. Roast chickens and logic Custom Meats should be rested 30 minutes minimum. Now I'm craving hamburgers and I lived in this house for a while. You are absolutely correct hoop cheese is the best thing on a hamburger however I can't seem to find it in Maine. If anyone in the South would like to do a box swap I can give you things from the Northeast four things from the south. :-)
The air fryer lid I bought seems to be alot faster than that one,a hamburger isnt dresses until it has tomatoes onions lettuce pickles and a spicy jalapeno sauce
Yummy so excited to do this!! Can I ask why you used the trivet in high position instead of the second level divider that comes with the air fryer basket? Just curious thanks??
Just got my Instant Pot duo crisp last week. I am loving your videos. Would you be able to link where you got your yellow thermometer you use all the time? Or put the brand name up? I searched ThermaPro/ Thermaprobe but not sure I am hearing correctly. Thanks for your channel!
Why do you flip them. Isn't the fryer suppose to do both sides? Just curious. It also seem like frying is a skillet would be faster.🤷♀️ Ty for the video.
It does but I haven't used this device enough to know how well yet...I think the skillet is an excellent way to cook burgers but it does cause a lot of splatter and the health benefit of air frying is lost...thanks for watching!
I actually have it somewhere but I know a lot of others do not so I just leave the original pot in...i have not even tried it but I do love nonstick...thanks for watching!!!
Hello Mr.Sanders. I just bought our instant pot duo crisp + air fryer Im still learning how to cook with it. Do you know how much longer it would take to cook a well done burger without overcooking it? Thank you
Hey John, my IP Duo crisp air fryer came today and I’m so excited! I need to know if I can cook fries and a cheeseburger at the same time? If so, how do I do it? I don’t have any extra accessories yet, they are coming on Sunday. Maybe when I get home from church they’ll be waiting! In the meantime how do I cook frozen fries and a Bubba burger together?
I’m only cooking for myself so it’s just 1 Bubba Burger and a small amount of fries. The burger won’t take long. Maybe cook the fries first and then the burger?
I couldn't get my Duo Crisp to properly alarm the water temp for sous vide. It gets to temp but doesn't ever start the timer once it's preheated... thoughts?
Ok UPDATE: temps were finally detected and it's counting down as expected. It's definitely not as fast as a wand-type sous vide heater, but it will work if you get it started early.
I’d sooner the Ninja and not have to lift that crisping lid all the time which I saw on another channel that for some would prove to be rather heavy and awkward.
I have not noticed any awkwardness or excess weight but it is a totally different design and I think some will love it and some will hate it...thanks for watching!
They are a little further than I usually take them but for a guy who usually eats hamburgers that are red in the middle, I can honestly say they were delicious, not dry and amazingly good and I think it has to do with air frying the burger for some reason...I could see me doing a little higher in temp than usual from now on..but I know what you mean and I would have possibly said the same thing before trying them...thanks for watching!
About 30 minutes and at least 2 dishes plus a rack to wash. About 8 minutes and one cast iron pan to wipe clean. You tell me who’s the winner here. PS: I’m a proud owner of an IP, but in this case this makes no sense at all.
I like my skillets too but you do get a little splatter and it requires some heating time etc...and I think air frying is healthier but like I do love a pan fried hamburger...thanks for watching!
John Sanders Mr. Sanders, enjoy your burgers the way you like them, but don’t worry about counting calories. It’s a burger after all. When you add up the calories from cheese, condiments and bread, an air fried burger makes no difference. Have you made a smash burger yet? I think you’d love them very much. And try to source Martin’s Potatoes rolls too. They’re the best burger bun! PS: your wife’s Mac and cheese recipe would be a perfect candidate for the duo crisp/air fryer method. Add some fresh bread crumbs to the cheese topping and toast the whole thing.
I like the idea of the smash burger and I think it would work well with this method and I saw those Martin potatoe buns and considered trying them soon...I have tried some of their other products...and I ain't counting calories...lol..you can tell by watching the stuff I cook...I am trying to get her to do something on the channel and the mac and cheese would be perfect...thanks again!!

Luv this idea because u can sauté button with water & a little soap for easy cleaning while burgers rest for a fast clean. Brilliant!!
lol I found this funny and educational 💪🏾🚀🚀

@@JohnSanders Nah, I buy the cheapest I can find, thanks again for the vids!
I like to put the bun in there for 2 minutes with the cheese on each side. 🍔🍔🍔
Just got my duo crisp and unboxed it today. I’m going to try making burgers and fries tonight.
Your gonna love it...let us know how the burgers and fries turn out and thank you for watching!!!

Gary Mayo get the mealthy crisp lid ...lightweight....nice ..love my IPs
John--you were right..the proper term is chubs. Burgers looked tasty :) thanks for sharing..more videos pleez
Should have more soon...thanks for watching and confirming what even my grocery store meat guys didn't know...lol..
This. I’d made me subscribe. Burgers look good! Thanks!
That is good to hear... glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subscribing!!!
John, It looks delicious.
Thanks again Bettye, glad you enjoyed it!!
I'll take mine medium rare, with some of your signature crinkle-fries on the side!
And that is how I do mine sometimes...hard to beat that meal!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Amen brother I love hamburgers
Damn. Ninja foodi grill does big thick burgers in 6 minutes. Seems much larger of a cooking surface also.
Yeah, I agree it would be a better device between the two for hamburgers but they both make a really good hamburger...thanks for watching!
Hi! I like so much your channel and I have a cuestion for you, can you put more than 2 hamburguesas for cook in that Instant pot air dryer?
You would need to reduce the size or maybe add 2 after the first 2 shrink a little... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Look forward to your videos !
Thanks Mary...glad you enjoy them and thanks for watching!
Can't afford that instant pot. I already have a duo plus with the sous vide setting. Might get a mealthy crisping lid. Your burgers look great. Thanks for sharing!
Your welcome and thank you for watching!!!
ProspectNY11211 the CrispLid is great ! Got one for my IP....❤️😊😊
Smack a mayo and hot sauce mix on it and they would be fire 🔥
Not a bad idea!!! Thanks for watching!
i can confirm that pre-heating doesn’t seem to be required
I like medium rare burgers the flavors come out, that away and they not dry and chock ya
Why the trivet versus the stainless steel tray that goes in the air fryer basket?
The cheese melts and runs slowly it doesn't all slide off the burger which is what hoop cheese does best! I like a good pink Burger medium-rare in the center to medium. My father wanted it cooked like the bottom of a shoe and it made me tell him how wrong he was May he rest in peace now.
It was amazingly good and I've never had a problem with hoop sliding off of anything I used it on??? Thank you for watching!!!
Can you send a burger to NJ? 😂 Love the video
I think they will last a few days wrapped in hoop cheese...lol...thanks for watching!

It does but I haven't used this device enough to know how well yet...I think the skillet is an excellent way to cook burgers but it does cause a lot of splatter and the health benefit of air frying is lost...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders Thank you for your reply.
Have you thought about buying the 8qt non stick ceramic bowl to make it more like your ninja foodi?
I actually have it somewhere but I know a lot of others do not so I just leave the original pot in...i have not even tried it but I do love nonstick...thanks for watching!!!
Hello Mr.Sanders. I just bought our instant pot duo crisp + air fryer Im still learning how to cook with it. Do you know how much longer it would take to cook a well done burger without overcooking it? Thank you
Possible to make yoghurts even though it doesn't have an yoghurt button?
I would think so with it having a sous vide and a dehydrate function but I have not tried that yet...thanks for watching!
When the burgers are elevated as high as yours are will grease splatter into the heating element of the air fryer lid?
It probably doesn't help with that...thanks for watching!!!
The stainless steel inner pot is in there.
Why did you use the basket? Why not just use liner and trivet in Hi position?
You could do that also... thanks for watching!!!

No...he photo bombs pretty often..along with his stepbrother BoBo...thanks for watching!
So far, do you have a preference between the Foodi and Duo Crisp?
It is still a little early but both seem to be excellent products...thanks for watching!

How about meatloaf next be interesting I think
Thanks..I have consider that recently and it is a good idea...maybe soon and thanks for watching!
next time toss your bread in there for a minute - it makes bread nice and toasted
