Alright John... you know what we're looking for... the battle of the titans... we need to know which is better. The Ninja Foodi or the Instant Pot Duo Crisp. :)
Great demo again, John. That rib roast looks great! So far, so good, huh? I am watching your videos before I take the plunge. Thanks again for your great and entertaining videos!❤️
This Christmas is the 1st time I plan on cooking a prime rib in my Instant Pot Duo Crisp (tired of turkey). I have watched your prime rib videos often so I get it right. This was the most expensive meat I ever bought and I don't want to ruin it. You always make great videos. I will buy a thermometer.
I have NEVER in my life been brave enough to cook a prime rib but it IS my and my daughter's Favorite...she likes hers Medium and I eat all my steaks Med Rare so this is another amazing tutorial! Gotta tell ya...not knowing how these are even cooked the ones we always get NEVER have a beautiful crust like this and once again I'm saying I can't even wait to try this! You're making me braver and braver with every video John! ;)
I need to find that Pam Avocado Spray. Your videos have convinced me to give avocado oil a try! By the way, I appreciate how you take the time to explain everything in such detail. It really helps me to feel like I could make these recipes!
Thank you Angela...I hope I help and the avocado oil is really good for a lot of things...I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thank you for watching them!!!
Hey John...I guess I am behind times...great to learn that IP has come out with this new unit. I will google it for more information. That Prime Rib looks perfect. All the best John... Steve
Was wondering about how a Prime Rib would do in the new Duo, and seems the end result turned out just as juicy and tender, as it did in the Foodi. Last year, I was “Johnny Come Lately” when I decided to get a prime rib for the holidays, and didn’t exactly get the pick of the liter, which led to a few small cook issues, but it still ended up as a great meal, but this year, I think I’ll shop early, get a choice prime rib, and attempt this again, in the air fryer. Thanks, John, for doing the “homework” for all of us, and working the “kinks” out of these recipes, and getting these types of recipes down to a simple, easy to follow technique that will yield dynamite results! 👍
That is a good idea Dave...I had about 4 to pick from at my local grocery store and there were only two I would have even considered...so any Johnny that came behind me only had one to choose...lol...and I'll also say that the way I cook has changed so much over the last couple of years it is shocking!!! And I'm sure it has for many people that have taken advantage of these kitchen gadget advancements and recognize how much easier and faster some recipes can be...thanks Dave and thank you for watching!!!
Hey John, I love your videos. You should really add links to the products you use at the store of your choice so people can get them for themselves and you can get a percentage. I know I'd like to buy those temp probes. Getting ready to make my Christmas prime rib thanks to your video! Have a Merry one. You do great work.
Thanks Joe and I am considering links in the future...I think you will be impressed with the prime rib it is an excellent way to cook one...I'm glad you enjoy my videos and thank you very much for watching them!!!
I like meat well done or medium well. Should I cook it lower and longer? I'll be getting my duo instant mot air fryer tomorrow! Thank you for your great recipes, videos etc.
You could buy I would probably just add a little time and use a meat thermometer... it usually climbs in temp pretty fast... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
John love your videos! Don't have either unit but thinking to go with the ninja I like the turn nob selector vs the button on the IP. What is that temperature sensor that is pretty cool!
The wireless temp probe sensor is called a "Meater" and is made by Apption Labs...That one is the Meater Block but they make single probe models that are considerably cheaper...don't get the cheapest one...you will not be happy...the "plus" model works better for me...thanks for watching!
I’m just wondering if you could put a small sack of wood chips for that smoked flavor? I can’t wait for mine to come, expecting delivery today. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.
I'm a little skeptical, although I think it is a good idea, I need to see more videos first...I saw it was 1000 watts so I assume you can't have both devices running at the same time or it would draw too much current on one circuit and kick breakers, I also wonder how the element is designed and if 1000 watts is comparable to the ninja or the duo crisp when it comes to Crisping...etc...because that is very important and if the food doesn't get crispy in the pot.. then taking it to the oven broiler..or to just purchase a stand alone air fryer seems to be a better idea...if I see a video that convinces me otherwise I might buy one..or if someone watching feels different for good reason I would consider buying it just to review it for my subscribers...but I admit... I have some reservations about it...thanks for watching!
Hmm, been an instant pot fan for years now. This looks incredible. I feel a little intimidated with the temp probes and monitor! Would love to here more about this
The temp probes are a wireless thermometer called Meater Block made by apption labs...I really like them...a little pricey for that model but very handy...thanks for watching!
Danged machine sold out again. Maybe lay off the videos for a couple of days so the rest of us get a chance at the checkout counter at Kohl's. haha. Thanks for the vid, John Sanders.
I recently started starting a Samsung Galaxy active 2 watch which I do love..I had a Samsung Galaxy Watch in my previous videos and I loved it too...it was just a little too big for me. Thanks for subscribing and Thanks for watching!
Love the avacado oil PAM but the coconut oil PAM is great for cakes, eggs and desserts. Very mild. Both are available at most food stores, including the Mart of Wal. (:
The Ninja has 1760 and the Duo Crisp has 1500 and I have not noticed any differences in cooking times or the time it takes to heat up...thanks for watching!
I've been watching a few of your videos (love them, and already recommended them to my dad) i have a question! If you had to pick two units what would you suggest someone buy.. i really liked the popcorn you did in the ninja foodi grill.. but i also really like the instant pot duo crisp.. would you say those are the best.. or the ninja foodie and the ninja gril?
Really hard to say this early on but it looks like it may come down to which lid design you like and you storage situation for the pressure cooker...but you picked my favorite products...the grill and a multi cooking pressure cooker!!! How this helps and Thanks for watching!
John, looks like another great success. WOO! Got everything to do one ... except ... the meat. (Maybe I'll win the Florida lottery Saturday so I can afford a hunk of it). BTW-- Do you use a (1 each) iPhone for shooting your videos? Thanks, old Chuck {roast} in Northeast Florida. : +)
I do leave it uncovered over night sometimes...or at least a few hours of possible...I leave it out for maybe an hour at the most before cooking and I think it does help the crust but quite honestly I don't think any more than that helps very much...thanks for watching!
My mom had cooking spray in a pump I can’t find it however she passed away when I was 22 if she was still here she would throw away every single can of spray in the garbage lol 😂 I miss her your cooking spray reminds me of what she used
Here is a video I did in that...maybe this will help and thanks for watching...let me know if you have questions... ua-cam.com/video/AdKx27mADxU/v-deo.html
They are very similar machines, down to the fact that recipes can be done in either machine with no modifications...I do not personally have a favorite yet though..thanks for watching!
I know nothing...but I would have done slow cook at 275 degrees. When the center is done at 135 F or so, next use Broil to give it that crust. Someone is going to ask how is Broil different than AirFry. From what I've read, Broil will be "less severe". AirFry more likely to scorch. Fan speed? Something to play with.
I have done something very similar in my regular Oven... reverse sear method or something close... and that method works well and I'm sure would work well in this Oven also... I might use different temps but it could be done... and these Temps would work for a lot of people...thanks for watching!!!
What the name of your thermometer? I actually bought the Duo Crisp the same day it came out and looking forward to use it often. Do you have any shrimp recipe you did with the Ninja foodie? I wanted to make the shrimp IP shows in their promo video but they didn't post any recipes...🤷🏻♀️
@@JohnSanders Thank you, I do hope you post it soon! I even bought the shrimp tonight but not sure I have the courage to experiment... I did make wings and loved them. 😊
I would say that Prime Rib is one of the best roast to do that with because you can have both type meats but if everyone you are serving wanted well done I would opt for steaks due to the fact that if you cook the roast to well done throughout the pieces near the end will be dry...hope this helps and thank you for watching!!
@@JohnSanders - Thanks for this information. I have always avoided prime rib because I just can't eat bloody meat (dripping blood, not the swear word). I might try the steak cut, and cook it almost well done.
That sounds very complicated in cooking that prime rib and I can do that in my counter top roaster and do it in the time it takes to cook a turkey in there which is about 1.5 hours. That prime rib does look good and I just can't see buying one of those as I don't use the appliances I already have except the kitchen oven.
I agree that if you have a device that does what you need you should not upgrade but I personally do not know a less complicated way to cook a Prime rib... not to mention ease of clean up and things like power consumption...but if the roaster oven does what you need and you like it... I would not purchase this device...however I think the other features this device brings to the table...or the counter...lol..it is something to consider but I have no reason to try and convince anyone they need it...I just really like the extra features...thank you for commenting and for watching my video!!!
