I have been wanting to move out of my city for 2 years but sadly my husband loves our house. He likes the security of having a house and honestly has a very habitual routine. I want to live my best life but the guilt I have of ..What it's!! I will pray everyday for guidance, clarity and courage!!

Figure out if part of your husband's routine is ignoring that your wants/needs are 50% of the relationship. He can still have a house even if it's a different one. ❤

Focus less on the specifics of what you want to ‘get away’ from (your current city) and more on how you will feel in your new home. You’ve got this! 🩷

I dont know if this could help, but what works for me and my partner if we cant get out of a situation..we try to meet eachother half way. If you truly love eachother then you definitely will work things out.

And what if you've been saying "what if", year after year, and nothing changes? Then what if I grab the bull by the horns and make the change your gut wants you to make? So what if it DOES work out??? 🎉

I like the principle of using the Let them theory when you go into the What if loop. Thank you for being so helpful. I started doing the high five challenge a few months ago, and I do it every day and now I have a solid morning routine, my procrastination disappeared and I feel more confident than ever. I listen to you podcasts almost every day and you have changed my entire life Mel. I did the scary thing and moved away from an environment that didn't serve me. Did the work, very focused on healing and I can honestly say that I have never been happier and more content than ever. I swim in the ocean in the mornings, take daily walks/runs and I've now found like minded people and the community I have now has blown my mind. Do the scary thing, face the fears and be brave. Radical confidence really works! Love you Mel. Thank you for being there for me when I was terrified to start over. Great things to come!!

Hi Mel, Thank you for this video! I am the queen of " what if"? I have 5 grown kids in their twenties and thirties. I find myself worrying about them as if they are all still in elementary school. Its ridiculous. I worry about everything. If one of them is camping, I already have a bear attack or a crazy unhinged lunatic on the same trail. Then it goes to alien abductions ( seriously) ..I used to work myself into the dark loop over and over. Don't get me started on Covid a few years back. Ideally, I figured if they all moved back home I could protect them lol It can be any scenario , it doesn't matter. I have been anxious since I was 5 years old. I needed to hear all of your wise advice this morning. ❤

I really resonate with this video. Thank you Mel! I have been in so much pain for the past two months after my youngest daughter estranged me, her best friend, and her step dad.
I just don’t know what to do other than continue to work on myself and remember to love myself with radical self acceptance. I pray my daughter will want to reconnect with me and when she does, I will be in a better place emotionally. I miss her so much 🥲

I literally am facing a decision to leave a stable but toxic government job or become self employed in a completely different field- paralyzed with what ifs every second. This has helped me deal with this incredible what if fear that is so paralyzing. No one should have to go through what I go through at my office. Yes it’s scary to leave, but I often feel that in spite of the financial stability, it’s scarier to stay put.

I bought a bracelet that says “What If” because I had that same revelation! I was paralyzed with fear as a child with those 2 words. Then one day I thought of flipping how I view those two words to be positive. I found the bracelet to remind me and if I ever got a tattoo it would be that! 😀

I love you Mel! I’ve been going through a layoff from a place that was subversively difficult, and now job searching.
Your content has felt like a positive wind for my little lifeboat’s sails these last weeks. 🙏💝

Yeah I don't want to high-five something I don't want to high-five. So I can either make an objective change with that or I can high-five my not wanting to high-five, and then with that just sort of balance out.
But yeah what if it does work out? Somewhere inside there's a belief but even bothering with that in the first place is somehow not worth it! THAT'S the the belief that has to change.
When you start consciously putting in new beliefs to your subconscious, your subconscious changes -- "I believe."❤

My what if’s are mostly about safety - worry about letting grandkids ride their bikes, swim, or worry while transporting them in the car. Any advice on that?

    • @elkeschubert212
      @elkeschubert212 День тому

Yeah; trust. Don't neglect, just trust. We all fell off our bikes as kids, it's part of the wobbly process of growing up, and we survived. It all worked out!

I can fantasize about moving but I can also just get into a space where this is perfectly okay. It kind of depends on my mental state.

Hello Mel, I hope you are okay and your family, too? It's in vain to think into the past. You put a title at your popcast. " How to break the loop of, " What if's?". I think it's an interesting topic, so people will quit to live into the past, let me write something important down here. Everybody must pay me attention. " There's just one tense at our life, it's called the present, the past and the future are irrelevant at all. A lovely regard from afar .

Rich people's problems... Should I live here, should I live there or there?... Most people atm are just managing to feed themselves. How do you move when you can't feed yourself.
