I have used this "looking for hearts" method for YEARS and it works. I use a black circle, i.e. a hair tie. It is incredible how when I am in doubt all of a sudden there is a black hair tie, everywhere in public, and in my home...even when I was bald for year with cancer, somehow, hair ties everywhere, a communication network between my mind and the outer world, confirmation of "girl, life is working in your favor, KEEP GOING!" 3 years cancer free now!!

Hand to hand combat with your mind...that's exactly right. It gets very difficult to keep going when you have a barrage of crap handed to you within a span of 2 years. I could list it all, but I wouldn't be unique in this situation. Life just kicked my *ss, and it's so difficult to see the hearts. The hardest thing is when your main touchstone (in this case, my sister) succumbs to cancer. She was always the one to see the hearts in everything.

I enjoy listening to mel robbins.
I live a life with a huge filter on whom i let it. I use to live a rose colored glasses mentality and it all came tumbling down. Then i went through a period of clear vision. It has been one of the most difficult times in my life. As i have radical acceptance and eorking through things it is helping to be able to have a rise colored glasses mentality between the crappy moments. Not staying in some poly anna or harsh reality. It is wonderful to enjoy moments. Despite the multiple truth that also their sre crappy aspects of your life.

    Dear Mel,
I listen and love You from Poland. Today I got my morning jogging with your podcast about mindset.
I really want to share with You my favorite visualization about it.
Here it is (please excuse my English) :
Imagine a man in bus, he's going back home from work. He's standing and thinking:
    - I hate my job, it socks
    - my boss is a monster
    - I don't get along with my wife, she's bitch, always argue with me for no reson
    - and my health get worse
And there's an angel standing next to this man with a notebook, writing... And the angel says:
    - hmmm, strange wishes...

It gives me the confidence to try and speak my truth without being judged or rejected and when it does happen ,I think this person was not a genuine friend to have around anyway.
I love all the research done and all the metaphors used in every subject.
So much work ,so much effort to help us be better humans and create a better world around us.
Million thanks from an Idian women ,born in Paris and caught between 2 opposite cultures

This is not about toxic positivity. I'm not asking you to put a positive spin on a shitty situation! I'm also very clear that thinking nice thoughts is not going to get your bills paid! Loved the message! I went through something similar to this 2 years ago. I had hit rock bottom, and could not see a way out. I decided to educate myself on self awareness, self image, self care, etc.. This became my new reality with a clear sense of direction with motivation being my drive. I'd like to think I am great at motivating others. Unfortunately, after 2 years of getting to know myself on a higher understanding I could not motivate myself. I was bombarded, and started to sway into my negative thought patterns. But! If fate intervened, and I had my epiphany as you might describe it. What drives my motivation now is a simple quote I tell myself when someone challenges me. "No one is going to steal my joy." When I watched your podcast I couldn't believe it. Basically, you're teaching the same message that took me 2 years to realize. Phenomenal! I thoughtfully enjoyed your perspective. 🤗

I've been going to a marriage counselor with my spouse without success (though she tries very hard) because I could not understand why he upsets me soo much. Now I know ow that we both have different lenses. I tend to be all like "YOLO" and he tends to be pessimistic about everything I do or achieve as well as the kids. Instead of avoiding him, I will try compassion and understanding because he had a terrible childhood that is now mentally caught up with him. Peace to you all. ❤
