CZ_Mate you think this paint works for brake calipers?
yes it should be fine. my plans are to do my front calipers maybe when I redo my brakes. thanks for commenting and watching
I love this color it came out good!
Thank you. I love the color too. I was very happy with it. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊 🤟
Colour looks awesome, love the vid man!
I appreciate that 🙏 thank you for watching and commenting. 👊 🤟
wow - beautiful work!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 😁 thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it a lot. 👊 🤟
Nice, I bought a can a couple years ago without doing research and tried to paint a black lower control arm. Didn't work obviously since I didn't know I needed the base coat first so it's been sitting for a while.
Finally want to do something with it and your video helped to explain the process perfectly. Thanks
💪 thanks for watching and glad the video could help you. I appreciate the support
Hey I like the color the way it turned out very beautiful blue, looks amazing I actually bought that same paint for my caliper
Thank you I appreciate that 🙏 I was thinking about doing my calipers the same color when I first did this. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟
I used that 3 stage paint system in the red on my valve cover and it looks fantastic. This video or photos don't do it justice. I recommend it
I love how it turned out, it's hard to get the way things look in pictures and video sometimes
Great job.... thanks for posting
Thank you I try to take my time to make sure it turned out good. I hope this helped you out with seeing the color or how to do it. Hope you enjoy my other videos as well
Real nice job, and great spray technique👌

Amazing job!!!
As always...
Thank you 🙏 i appreciate the support. 🤟
Metalcast works great for your tail lights and side markers also.
Top with a clear coat.
On one set of taillights,I changed the amber turn lens to red for a cleaner look ,and it still shines amber.
Another project, the car was green so I did the side markers in green.
With amber bulbs it washes out the color when lit up.
Add some clear coat for a shiny OEM look and save a fortune over tinted lenses.
Wow never thought of that. Thanks for sharing. Also thank you for watching
@@CZMate no problem man.
Yeah for the vws the old hella tinted taillights were big money ,250-300 a set.
Diy for like 1/10th of that with a few spray cans.
That blue looks so good. I need to paint mine now
👊
Love that color! Would look even better on the white Teggy!
What can I say, I was lazy on my vacation and waited til the last 2 days. Bought a fresh valve cover gasket for it. Ready to swap it back on my days off.
LOOKS SO GOOD
I was very happy with the color. I would do it again too
Great video man!!!
🙏 Thank you. I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊🤟
That blue is 🔥🔥🔥

Nice video man 🤟🏼
Thank you 🙏 Hope you enjoy my other ones.
Damn that looks good
Thank you 🙏 I am super happy with the metalcast blue. I was also surprised how it turned out and also has held up. Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it 🤟
@@CZMate I'm actually doing my motor bike right now the red
Nice. I bet the red will look amazing. I might redo my Civic valve cover maybe do the red on that. 😀👍
@@CZMate it's coming out just how I'd like
You can use the Blue or Green Painters tape for masking. But my favorite is 3M Yellow Painters tape 😊. It’s a bit thicker and easier to use with an Exacto knife for sharper masking.
Good job 👍🏻
Thank you for commenting and watching. I appreciate the support. I am very happy on how it turned out and it is still in great condition after so long on the car. Thanks again
@@CZMate there are lots of videos using this paint and system and I'm glad to say yours is one of the good ones 👍🏻 came out really nice. I'm looking to do my brake calipers and some engine parts but unfortunately I'm in the UK and cannot get the Duplicolor paint but can get the VHT anodised paints which is a derivative company or sister company to Duplicolor so I'm hoping the colours will be as they say ,🙏🏻
@@martynj-c4965 I try to get the best angle and try to get the best shots for my videos. VHT is great paint too. I have used their products and always turns out great. I am glad my video was helpful. Great luck with your projects. Let me know if you have any questions
@@CZMate cheers buddy. I have 1 question ...can you send me the VHT Duplicolor in red? 🤪🤣👍🏻
Lol not sure if you can send that through the mail. I know they always ask at the post office. Send me a Message on Instagram
Looks great. Really wanted to see it after the letters had been sanded off though.
Thank you. I appreciate for the comment and for watching. Here is a recent video I did where you can see the valve cover sanded and on the car.

Or you can DM me on Instagram and I can send some pictures to you
you did good !
Thank you for watching and commenting
old video i know but hows it holding up or held up over time with the heat etc? came out soooo good in this one
It held up great over the years. It looked brand new when I took it off the car earlier this year after my Integra was totaled. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support
@@CZMate aww no, what car you got now? i wish you guys could ship cars to the UK cheap, eg's are doing crazy money over here
I got a 2005 Honda Civic Si. Check out my other video and hit that subscribe button 😁
do you think its still going to be good if using white base coat ? i just boughy this blue metal cast and white spary
I would test it on something's first. It will work but since the blue is transparent the white will make it look different then a silver. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊 🤟
ahhhh I wanted to see if with Honda Motor Co sanded, looks killer!
Here is another video where you can see it around the 50 second mark. ua-cam.com/video/cehIKUjLxmY/v-deo.html

How long did you wait before applying clear coat? Is it true you have to wait 5 days for metal cast coat to cure?
I waited around 20 min. It's just like regular spray paint
so i have the idea of doing the red metalcast paint over Gloss White, do you think it'll turn out pink???
It might, I am not sure. I would spray a test piece to see. Maybe try the red over a few different colors. The paint is normally sprayed over metal or like I did the silver base. But it should work with different colors but the color will change depending on the base. Let me know if you have any other questions. I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊 🤟
@@CZMate thanks alot man! yeah ill probably pick up some silver and gloss white and test them with the red to see which i would end up like more. Im going to do this to a spare VC i picked up a while back, so if i end up not liking it anymore, i can always spray the VC I took off and switch them lol
It's always nice to have did looks and being able to switch between things. If you want send me pictures when you spray it over the two colors I would like to see what it does over white. @cz_mate on Instagram
@@CZMate alright cool man, ill see you over on IG lol
👍

Looks great. Thinking of using this on my calipers or rotors but not sure how heat resistant it is
Thank you. I was thinking about doing my calipers too. You don't want to paint your actual rotor. Your brake pads wont work as good and ma cause braking issues. Glad you enjoyed the video.
What did you use as a Clear Coat, and did you scuff sand or wet sand the blue before adding the clear coat. I am assuming not as the metal cast is suppose to be all coats within an hour and then it says to let it cure for 7 days before putting more coats on it.
I am going to paint archery bow risers and was planning on stripping them all the way down as they have black paint on them and I think the metalcast would look better on shiny aluminum as compared to doing the base coat and then the color.
I just cleared right after I put the metal cast paint on. It's just a clear I had already, it is in the video. It will look good taking it down to bare metal great idea. You can pick up some 2k clear if you want some high quality clear. It cost a lot more but totally worth it.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support. Let me know if you have any other questions
@@CZMate I have some 2K clear I think from Rustoleum and or Krylon.
I have had issues in the past with the chemicals not jiving together.
I dont mind the money so much and am considering automotive metalic paints for the limbs later.
I would have to set it up though to make larger quantities to get the value out of it though.
I plan on videoing and posting the first Riser tests, so I will throw a link to you when I do this.
It is snowing out today but when I can set it up to paint it warm. Ill post it.
TY for the response.
Eldan at Blue Dragon Archery.
Hey, not too bad my man
Thank you
did you have to add primer before base paint or is the base paint the same as primer ?
No primer way laid down. With the metalcast paint you can paint right over bare metal. I decided to use the base coat as well. It's been on for over 30k miles and no problems. The valve cover looks like the day I painted it. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊🤟
@@CZMate thank you very much for responding. I appreciate the knowledge you give and very much appreciate. Thank you
Of course I want to help anyone who has questions with the best of my knowledge. I appreciate the support 👊🤟
How is this paint holding up? I was looking for a metallic blue and saw this color at the parts store. Thanks for the video.
It held up great for the few years I had it on the car.
Can it deal with dust, mud and moisture? Fire video
It helped up great for over 40k driving. My friend did it to his CRV that he takes mudding it's been fine for him. Thanks for commenting and watching. I appreciate the support 👊🤟
Good video man
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot. Thanks for commenting and watching 👊🤟
How does it hold up with the heat? Why didnt u use a high heat gloss?
It been holding up fine to the heat. It still looks brand new. I had that clear sitting around for my wheel project. I did my Civics valve cover a year ago with Dupli-color wheel paint and its been fine too.
Mines didn’t come out like this...
Did you prep it good and lay a base coat down? If you have any questions let me know. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟👊
Yeah I think maybe I layed too much blue, gonna sand down and try again
Nic, dont try and cover it all on the first coat not even on the second coat, take your time and let the paint bubbles do their work, on the third coat go medium to heavy and remember to not get too close to your work piece, make sure theres isnt any wind either! And dont forget your clear coat, 2 or 3 coats is good and its the same process light even coats and not too close. Good luck!
You should top coat that with spray max 2k clear
Yeah that clear is some good stuff. I just didn't want to wait to get it or really spend the money for it at the time. Thanks for the suggestion tho. I appreciate it. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🤟 The valve cover still looks great. It's been at least 30-35k miles since I painted it.
How it gonna hold up to the engine heat thou
It's been over two years and idk how many miles and looks great. Check out my latest video and you can see it. 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support 👊🤟
ua-cam.com/video/1dlGi-OSQNo/v-deo.html
Normal automotive,or most any paint in a spray bomb is good for 250f at the minimum unless it says it's rated for a higher temp.
So if your valve cover is getting hotter than that, you've got other issues.
You don't really need any special engine enamel stuff, some of the longest lasting finishes I've had on engine blocks is using a cheap enamel I get at the autobody supply ,and a cheap 20$ detail gun to spray it with.
I've never had any problems from heat burning off from not using "engine paint".
I would have sanded the Honda logo first then cleared. But looks good
Good idea, thanks. Hope you enjoyed the video.
Agree :)
🤟 thanks for the support and input. Next time I might do it that way. 💪👊
Are all those paints high heat resistant?
I haven't had a problem with the valve cover at all. It's almost been 2 years and I drive 23-25k miles a year. So so almost 50k miles and still looks like I did it on the first day. I hope that helps answer the question. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊 🤟
Hey bro, good look. Did you have any color fade from heat?
None at all. It looks like the day I painted it. The Integra my daily and I put at least 20-25k on it since I painted it. It looks great still. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. 👊🏻
@@CZMate You used a high temp clear coat?
Its a colored clear coat, turned out good though
What do you mean by "it's a colored clear coat"? Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support. 👊🤟
Is this a high temp combination sir?
This is what it says in their website
"Metalcast is a durable enamel finish that is oil, gas, and heat resistant up to 500°F intermittently, making it ideal for interior, exterior, and high-heatapplications under the hood"
Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you enjoy my other videos.
Duplicolor recommended to me, when I asked, NOT to put a clear over Metalcast.
Did they give a reason? It works great and they also have a metalcast clear I believe. Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know so more info
@@CZMate Because the top cost, though colour IS a clear coat, the way the tech told it. Plus it's made for heat exposure unlike many clear coats.
Thanks for sharing that information 🤟 I appreciate it.
Nice work. how does the paint feel now? not peeled off?
It is still great. There is no peeling or fading. It still looks just like the day I painted it. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the support. 👊🤟 Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@CZMate thanks for your reply. It's a pity that they don't sell paint in our country ... as I understand it, there were two products? primer and paint?
This doesn't need primer. I used a silver base coat then the blue over it. Both are just base paint.
ok! thank you very much!
No problem. Hope you enjoy my other videos and consider subscribing
Would this work on metal guitar parts?
It should work on any metal parts. When i was looking at google images to see what the color would be i saw a bunch of different things painted. (I commented last week, looks like my app screwed up and didnt send sorry)
Thow the finithed product
That was the finished product other then sanding the letter down. Here is another video where you can see it around the 50 second mark. ua-cam.com/video/cehIKUjLxmY/v-deo.html
Also you can follow me on Instagram and send a message and I can send you pictures
The best clear coat that you can get is the "OH MY" 2k clear from BuyCustomPaint.com. A HS clear that's really easy to spray with a high gloss, and doesnt require cutting or buffing and the small kits start at $30..... Definitely worth checking out...good video
I have heard of that. Thanks for commenting I dont k ow why I haven't been getting all my notification on my videos. I know it's had been 7 months but still want to say thanks for watching and commenting. 👍😀
No primer do. Damm.
My last valve cover i did the same way and its still looking great. Also the Metalcast paint can be used right over chrome parts alone.
I did some similar but luck you have cause my car paint cracked with red metal cast. But an adhesion promoter will be helpfull ima do some like tht maybe but iwanna paint my valve cover over gold.
Gold will be nice, on what color car? I did my red Civic's valve cover bronze (like my wheels) it turned out good too.
@@CZMate its a red integra and ima paint my wheels metalic gold 2. Those colors combined well it looks nice and valve cover i use primer cause i never have luck paint cracks unless u use ahesive primer for anodize dupli.. but ihave some blue 2 but i said lets go gold ima post it up and install.
To many coats of blue lost the transparent look ...
😬
