I've used it on car rocker covers, took heat really well but comes down to good prep work, done wheels also, lve used some clear after its cured properly makes it more durable, plus don't rush top coat let it fully cure before you put top coat and don't go over board with too many coats as it will reduce the effect ,used it on many applications and was very happy with it plus some nice colours to choose from plus always try and get a fresh stock can even if you need to order in, base coat isnt fussy but try not to use old stock for top coat, build top coats slowly don't rush😊
rattle cans are known to look shitty cause people dont spend the time to prep and wet sand properly. it takes a very long time to wetsand so people usually dont bother to remove all of the orange peel. ive worked with rattle cans and spray guns for years and the determining look of the finish is down to how much time youre gonna put into prep and wet sanding
When painting parts like this, grab a short piece of wire and bend it into an "S" shape, this will allow you to hang the part for an even coat without overspray and pulling paint from the side you have ready done, just a tip
The key is to make the chrome paint look as much like real chrome as possible. If u first put gloss black then the chrome paint then the anodized paint and then spray max 2k clear. This gets you a pretty believable anodize piece.
Chrome paint is tricky to get a chrome finish.it must be layed thick but it will run if not layed flat and some surfaces wont hold a heavy coat without running no matter what.
@@conniestevenson226 thats true if ur trying to have a chrome like finish. But for the purpose of the metal cast all u need is for a good smooth layer of the chrome paint not dry but not heavy enough to make it run. There is a way to spray it that way with some practice
@@moe4772I have never had that problem with SprayMax 2K clear glamour It has UV protection in it I have literally painted car fenders with it and head lights and they have never turned yellow
You have to apply a Clear Exact-Match Automotive Top Coat apart which makes a little difference but becomes a dirty powder after rain and sun. No clear coat. No shine at all. Their paints never look like a mirror.
I'm thinking about doing this for a guitar. Do you think it would be durable? It won't really be even exposed to the elements at all. This looks amazing.
It is nice but it shows that is not anodized because it is shiny. It is beautiful though. The red paint. Is it just a regular red paint or kind of metallic paint?
Awesome job man! How durable was this? Is it durable enough to be handled? Im thinking of doing a pistol in it but im not sure how well itll handle going in and out of a leather holster....any thoughts on durability?
hey i wondering so if i dont paint chrome first and instead i spray like 2 coats of base coat and 2 coats of primer then the anodized red would it come out different then first paint chrome then anodized red??????
Yes it would, it would be less mirror-like. For the best anodizes finish, you have to polish the metal untill it's like a mirror, and then apply the red paint and the clear coat
It held up ok actually for being on a dirt bike a little bit of chipping but otherwise ok. I think it would hold up better if not being pelted by dirt and rocks
What’s the names of these paints I’m trying to buy these same colors. Like what’s the paint code there’s 2 different reds I’m trying to get the Exact same ones
Depends on what you’re doing with it. Because I used on a dirt bike brake lever there is some wear and tear but it's done pretty good. Plus I didn’t clear coat it

Can you clear coat over it ?
Wow...that came out beautifully. Def doesn't look like a rattle can garage paint job.
Yes it does

I’m curious to know how this held up a year later??

FYI Spray Max clear does not hold up well to any kind of heat and will turn yellow!

It actually looks really cool if you polish the metal a little and spray the colour straight on the metal surface
Thanks man! Very helpful! Can't wait to do my sbc heads!!!

Step 1 is a High Gloss Black then
Step2 Chrome
Step 3 Red
Step 4 2k clearcoat
Came out nice. Gonna paint my spiked lug nuts same color
make sure you don’t use power tools when you put them on, you may know that but if you don’t... i’m sure it’ll look great!
Can I use that on vinyl though 🤔

Cerakote that and then get a holster with suede lining 👍🏽
How would it look like without the chrome paint? Is it a dull? candy anodized red color?
yes pretty much

Did you sand anything first?@@northernmx5973
Can you put a clear coat on after the paint cures?
Yes absolutely
Put a clear coat over it and maybe it won't scratch off as easily.
It will scratch no matter what...The most durable and strongest is powdercoating but then there's the cost...
Sir if scratch can not remove color? Sir please
I am using these for Archery Bow risers on custom builds. There is no comparison for the price. Eldan at Blue Dragon Archery.
je peux passer ma commande du blanc et rouge bordeaux
By chance, do you know if these are heat resistant? Awesome finish btw!
Thanks and ya it says it’s heat resistant up to 500F on the can

No need for the chrome paint
Just clean and polish the aluminum till shiny, clean off the polish and apply super light coats
What’s the names of these paints I’m trying to buy these same colors. Like what’s the paint code there’s 2 different reds I’m trying to get the Exact same ones
Hey Aarin the red paint code is CMC200 and the chrome colour is CCS101
Do you think that chrome can be applied over plastic or do I need primer and then the chrome?
I think if you’re surface is rough enough the chrome should stick but primer can’t hurt
You need to put the plastic adhesion before you add primer
Caution Dupli Adhesion promoter may leave a texture.
How/could I use this on plastic model?
Where can I find the red paint?
Online or probably any store that carries automotive paints
@@northernmx5973 thank you
What is the chrome one called
Is it like a primer or no
Will this work on car rims
Probably but not sure how durable it would be
Thanks
Plasti dip the end where your foot touches it.
wouldnt last
GOOD JOB
durability ?

Its more candy looking then anodized
Yeah anodized look needs smooth and light spraying layers. 3-4 ultra light touches at most.
whats happnin everybody hahahahahahaha! nothin happnin here !
How much???
Probably around 24-30 dollars for both cans
You are painting way too close.
