The FX16 is basically a FWD MR2, I have owned an '85-'87-'88 MR2 ('92T), and the 4AGE is so reliable you cannot go wrong. I remember when the FX came out and I am currently looking for one to buy in Houston. Thanks for the video.
Really like that you're mainly just fixing/restoring this car as opposed to modifying heavily, it's kind of refreshing. I'm from the east coast of Canada and would kill to be able to find a vehicle this old that's still workable. Very jealous. I'm kind of doing the same thing with an ep3 civic right now which is much newer and sadly I think your corolla might be in better shape. Keep up the good work. Lots of life left in the "little guy"

Like that comment you mentioned, I too felt bad that you were intending to gut the car for only the engine, however I understood why, personally I cannot do body work to a level that will make me happy. I wasn't sure I was going to stay subscribed to your channel for long but after seeing this video I think I will be around for a while.
Pretty nice; it'll be running nicely while also showing age and wear. OEM and restored how it should be; showing its beaten, worn paint, but showing more character than any new Corolla could wish for.
I love this video so much. I’ve watched it about 3 times over the past few days. For some reason it is so calming. It’s just you working on your car, theres no extreme emotion or loud sounds. All the shots are short and simple. You aren’t doing it to be cool, you’re just enjoying yourself with this rusty car that has so much character.
