Actions have consequences. Don’t have unprotected sex, don’t have children. Before you mention any of the exceptions, the majority of abortions are from people who willingly engaged in having sex. Not from rape or incest.
It is crazy to me how abortion is even up for discussion. We are against murder in any other circumstance but because the baby is not fully developed we think it’s okay to allow people to kill it.

Amen. As someone who’s dealt with all the bad stuff from a guy as a kid, I’m not interested in dating. Nor do I wanna sleep with them (for the most part)… but, unlike the women on these TikToks, I don’t need to shout it out from the rooftops and try to convince others to join me.

Korea is a country where women feel safer and more comfortable compared to Western nations. During my conversations with many Korean women who have lived abroad, they expressed encountering a significant number of men in the West who view Asian women as easy targets for sexual assault or violent behavior. However, they felt that Korean men tend to be more protective and caring.
One notable difference is the presence of women on the streets even late at night in Korea, whereas in the U.S., it's rare to see women out past 7 p.m.
Moreover, Korea boasts the highest average level of education globally. About 70% of the younger generation in Korea graduate from university, and 90% receive rigorous training in the military. Additionally, drug use is relatively low, and most people lead law-abiding and normal lives.
Looking at the rates of extramarital births and single-parent households, most Western countries exceed 60%, while Korea's rate is below 2%, the lowest among them.
It seems that there's an exaggerated negative portrayal of Korea circulating on Western internet platforms, so I wanted to share my firsthand experiences and provide a more accurate perspective.

Meh..I don't see a problem with it. If these women really feel so traumatized by dating men and they feel that not considering men other than for platonic relationships then go for it. I have met so many women that decide to be single for years because the dating scene is awful and they don't want casual s*x or to have mean men emotionally abuse them. I don't think anyone in these videos are saying they want to be single, they are either tired of men's behavior or they are tired of the new dating system. Its a mess out there and nobody knows what to do.

Coming across a little podcast-y here. It’s not necessarily about “all men bad”. It’s about recognizing that many women are, do, and feel better outside of a relationship with a man. Why does it have to be a “goal” or something required for marriage or kids? Decenter men, and you will discover there is much more to life.

I’ve been conservative Republican my whole life, and unknowingly have been doing the 4b movement half way through my marriage. my husband died in a motorcycle crash and unfortunately my children found his child porn, which explains why he didn’t want sex and I begged for it until I finally gave up and didn’t have sex for 10 years. now that the merciful god removed him from my life, I have a beautiful condo, fun job, and my kids are finally connecting to me. I love being single.

As someone who is part of the 4B movement, I don’t understand why people are so upset by it. Women who are not interested in marriage or children are taking themselves out of the equation, out of the dating scene because they don’t like it, so men can find women who do want marriage and children. It’s supposed to be a personal choice and/or a way to avoid toxic/abusive relationships, not just a way to stick it to the man.
I like the idea of people not having sex with people they aren't willing to have kids with.
I think it's great - women who were already hurt by men are doing this already. Men who have been hurt by women are doing this already. Less people sleeping around, less unwanted children, less divorces. Figure yourself out before getting a partner who "completes you". Works for both men and women. Just stop being crap to each other.

I'm a single woman in her 30s. I've been single for 5 years after a long and hurtful relationship. As you are a 20 something year old who actually found a kind guy you are attracted to and you connect with, congratulations.
However the rest of us who are 30+ deal with comments like "you've hit the wall," "leftovers," "prude," and "you must be a raging feminist if things aren't working out for you." Even though I'm not discounting dating men entirely, at this moment I'm tired of trying. Also as a Christian, having sex and babies out of wedlock are not beneficial, so avoiding those. Then finally I'm not going to marry any guy just because I get insults about how I'll die alone with cats and how I should do it to avoid that.
So in essence, I'm already doing the 4Bs regardless of what I wanted out of life. Instead I get told "you're not doing enough." Thanks.
THIS - your telling of your experience - is SO much more common to most of the women in their 30s today. Only toxic/broken or too young to know better women are dating these Chad characters the men keep talking about. Most average women want average men that somewhat match where they're at in life: educated, no criminal history, treats people kindly, has a decent relationship with family & sensible hobbies you can both share. But you filter or express even below your level rules as an average woman, and all of a sudden, you're asking for perfection, your standards are too high, who do you think you are? etc. So you try and accept lower and lower because you ACTUALLY want to meet, marry, & settle down but the "good guys" & "nice guys" they keep telling you are out there, that you've likely lowered your standards for will bring the negative misogyny into the interactions so you give up on Relationships because madness is trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Then suddenly, you're late 30s early 40s & they wish you ill, screeching that you've hit some invisible wall, and it all just begins to sound off-putting, pedantic, and banal. So you find the happiness in other good things in your life - great and small. The way the sunset hits the deck on that house you worked so hard to buy. Your niece, nephew, or god-daughter's laugh while at play. Watching your parents grow old & seeing even more of their humanity. The crisp lettuce & plump tomatoes from your garden.
Live your life.

Wow this is quite interesting as a south korean women. I have never heard of 4b movement, but I've totally quit dating or seeking relationship with men around 2021, not that far from when feminist here made the concept 4b movement. Well I dont know about other people but I just quit dating men because worrying about all sort of sex related crime, that I might be the next victim and the men I know might be the perpetrator totally wore me out. And you do see normal looking average men being that perpetrator on the news every single day. There's a lot to say about misogyny and sexism here in south korea, but my personal final blow was when the daughter of my coworker died, suffering a month of coma state after getting beaten and then neglected by her boyfriend. My coworker was devastated... that girl was the only child... just by thinking the atmosphere of that poor girl's funeral still sickens me..... And that was when it really got to me; the fact that what I see on the news ain't just news, it's reality and I could be the next victim

I think most woman just want the right to choose their path in life, if motherhood is on the path ok and if not ok. It's about the right to freely live and choose. I think the 4b movement is reminding society of the value of woman. I see the 4b movement having an impact on the US healthcare. One of the reasons I decided to not have kids was because of the healthcare quality and expenses. If birthrates decline govt will hopefully do things to ease sone of the stresses that come with parenting.

I know some people are using the 4B movement as an unhealthy coping mechanism but some people are just genuinely happier being single.
I tried dating but realized I actually don’t like it and prefer being on my own. It’s not that I hate men or feel misogyny Im just a lone wolf by nature. Ever since I stopped dating my life has been so much more peaceful, simple and I’ve been happier.

It’s very much needed. I think as women we’ve just realized that there’s more to life than children and marriage. Until you’ve gathered your own trauma and worked thru your own problems - I firmly believe you should be single and focusing on yourself and your wellbeing. Seeing men upset is crazy bc I’ve realized there’s no pleasing them. They say choose better partners to not be a single parent, most don’t believe in abortion, some don’t care for the abuse in the relationship / marriage. So remaining single and being with like minded friends is the best route. Also, there’s nothing wrong with growing old alone if you’re content with your decision. Too many men think happiness surrounds and starts with them! It doesn’t, it’s inner peace. Girls, its not complicated. 1) Date a guy only if he treats you with respect, 2) Only have sex with a guy if he marries you, 3) Only marry a man if he treats you well, 4) Only have a baby with a man if he marries you.
It can be hard and lonely to wait, but it's absolutely worth it. You dont have to swear off men altogether. You just have to demand the respect and commitment that you want before giving it away. If you can't find that, work on yourself, be patient, and keep putting yourself out there. Remember that other women are finding these kinds of relationships, so if you haven't, it can't be solely because of the quality of men out there.

So just a South Korean here giving 2 cents regarding the 4B Movement because the bald lady was so worked up at the feminist strides in Korea she was making things up:
1. 4B movement is definitely a thing that's happening in Korea, and is led by women of a certain age. But at the core of it, it's less of a women only "movement" and not really even a movement at all. It's literally what happened in Japan 15-20 years ago and what's happening in China, and all around the world now: Young people are not getting married and having kids, and in this case not even dating or mating. They feel that their resources are better spent away from taking the risk of getting romantically involved with someone in this day and age.
2. 4B movement itself is deemed by the Koreans (the non-feminists men and women of all ages) as a coping attempt by the women who've hit the wall to justify their "choices" to be single to the society and their family. The best part here is that it can now do some mental gymnastics to put the blame on society and men.
3. As a result of that, the overall reaction of the general population, not just in young men who are supposedly affected by this 4B movement, is cynicism.
4. Most men in their 20s-30s view this as a cognitive dissonance of women who hit the wall screaming to ride the feminist wave so they can mentally cope that being alone and not marrying, not being approached and desired by men.
5. Most men don't really take this seriously because if you look at the interviews of the a self-proclaimed 4B Activists, you can kinda see that they would not be someone's first choice. In fact, if they take themselves out of the dating market it's likely going to inflict upward pressure to the average value of women in the dating market.
6. TBH 4B movement is kinda old news in South Korea - it happened a while ago, and it didn't really kick off because it just goes against human nature like communism did: No women dislikes being desired. Also undesirable and older women with loud voices for feminism generally haven't been the first pick of their male counterparts in the dating market, so, nothing really changed for men tbh. We didn't date those women before because we didn't find them attractive: Now we don't date them because we respect their firm feminist ideologies :)
7. It is true that the Korean birthrate is diving into some uncharted and unprecedented territory (0.7 and falling) but if you look at the birthrate among the top 25 percentile of population economicaly, it's still about the same as what it used to be 10-15 years ago. So 4B definitely didn't make much dent there. Again, the Korean 4B women would've likely fell off the reproduction wagon without their strict stance for feminism, by sheer natural selection (google the interviews)
8. Personally, I am quite glad that there are several Korean women who feel confident and courageous enough to come out and say that they are feminists, 4Bs, whatever. It's like having a tinder filter but for red flags.

Unpopular opinion: I think the 4B movement is a good movement for Korean women IN KOREA. When you look at just how messed up things are for them and tack on the fact that the work enviornments are hyper competitive, it's no surprise that Korean women (and other asian women from other countries) are opting out of dealing with men in general.

I was married for 33 years, knew him for 35 years. He died 2 years ago. We had fun, love, hard times and very good times together. I would never change a thing besides becoming a widow. We had 2 children and now I have a grandchild who I love dearly. I miss my sweet grumpy man so much and he was a man's man. Some idiot women would call him bad names. But he was loving, caring took care of me AND I TOOK CARE OF HIM!. You see, love and marriage is a 2 way street. I was happy with what he could provide. My house is not huge but love filled it. I feel sorry for the soon to be cat-ladies who will be alone and sad because a career is no replacement for a good marriage, children and now grandchild. Now, I don't like being alone in my home so I will marry again because I know there is a good man out there who wants to be loved. I will welcome him with open arms when the time comes.

I lived in South Korea for about 2 years. The hierarchy and patriarchy is at another level there. Sexual harassment and bad behavior was rampant. I was in one of the highest earning, most educated parts of the capital city. 4B makes a lot of sense to me given what I witnessed.

I really dont understand why people act like having a partner and children is the end all- be all for everyone and if you do something different there's somethin wrong with you. People dont treat single/childless men with the same disdain as single/childless women. Everyone doesnt need to have children or a nuclear family in order to be of value to society. Let people live.

I have a Chinese friend who was married ro a Korean men and she is currently in a "4B" lifestyle posy divorce as she was physically abused by her Korean ex husband. Apparently she made other Korean friends who are abused by their partners so it makes sense that abused women need time to heal. Idk if my friend wants to date again (she jusy wants to raise her daughter alone) and she's getting therapy. I still wish her the best in life though.

It’s better to be single than in a toxic relationship. Dating in 2024 is exhausting and time consuming. I’m sure there are great men out there, but I haven’t found the right one. Women can thrive in friendships with other women. And no we are not all lesbian. This movement isn’t about being alone, it’s about putting energy in better places. For some women, that place does not include men. Let people live the lives that work best for them.

it feels really "christian" / "trinity"‑like to say that these four "different" things are really just different _ways_ of saying _one_ thing.
especially to _conservative_ christians who think it's best to only have children with someone you're married to, vice‑versa, etc., etc. for all permutations of all four points.
ironically the christian bible specifically affirms this movement's main premise, that it's better to abstain from marriage if you can, because husbands and wives are a distraction from being all you can be for the Lord.

I've been 4B since I left an abusive marriage when I was 28. I know there are good men out there but I don't trust myself to be a better picker even all these years later.
Forget the label. This is just you taking responsibility for yourself. You're not 4b or anything else other than an discerning human that had gotten into a bad relationship and learned from it. You don't trust you. That has nothing to do with Men over all. If you haven't and have the ability to do so, seek a therapist. Arrange marriage through family it's been done that way for literally thousands of years and it works because it's your whole own family picking someone instead of one person's and their feelings
Your best bet is to ask an advice from your family, friend or whoever is the closest to you that'll have your best interest in mind. It's normal if you don't trust your judgement based on your past, not everyone can pick up social cues. The people that are closest to you will see what u can't see and even offer advice or introduce you to someone that actually better for you, just like old time. But you have to know who have your best interest in mind first, which actually the first step to know yourself and everyone around u. Key point is always keep up hope and learn from your mistake, u should be able to change.

The 4B movement isn’t really that big in the social sphere~ it’s more of a niche internet movement. However, some of the negative views of men are popular, but for the most part women like men and men like women. Now if we’re going to talk about men who like men, that’s a whole different story.

@@watcher2424 I mean, low birth rate is a problem for many (if not all) developed countries, so there is no surprise that South Korea is also facing this problem. And the reasons for it are kinda same in most cases.
Low birth rate will always be a problem in developed countries simply because of economics and hypergamy. Women desire partners of higher status so when women are liberated their status improves and they demand even more status from their men. The men share the job market with women so the price of labor is bisected. Now everything is super expensive and the higher status women see men around them as unfit partners for not earning enough to satisfy hypergamy. On top of that women have to choose if career or family is more important and its a tough question for each woman. Underdeveloped countries never have this issue. Basically the liberation of women is a huge tradeoff that no nation seems to have the answer to. Stretched to its logical conclusion the low birthrates will eventually collapse the economies and lead to huge demographic collapse and the developed nations have no choice but to embrace the third world to uphold their economies. Lots of civil unrest loss of traditions etc.
@@courtneyharris1006 The main problem of countries with low birth rates is that they have become almost matriarchal. women were given rights and they used them in such a way that countries began to die out. no responsibility, no civic duty. women in all their glory showed the reason why no one had given women so many rights before. Most modern women are selfish, selfish people who are leading developed countries to disaster. they don’t want to bear any responsibility, don’t want to think about the future - they don’t even care who will pay them old-age pensions with what money. The institution of family and marriage is almost completely destroyed. feminists of the past sought equal rights in wages, in the application of laws, in the representation of their rights in the courts, but in no way did they achieve unlimited abortions, the wresting of real estate from a former spouse and other delights of modernity. the list is long, I’m sure that even Coco Chanel, seeing modern women and what they have turned society into, would turn in her grave.

This getting popular is really sad. I mean, to each their own. If you want to be single, go for it. But there ARE great men out there. And to put all men in the same category as all the crappy men is plan stupid. I'm married to an amazing man and wouldn't change it for the world. Good men exist. And if you happen to only be meeting crappy men, you might want to look in the mirror and start questioning some things. Give me a beautiful life with a great man over being lonely my entire life anytime. I'm curious if any of these women will regret this in the future when they realize they could have had better. Absolutely sad to see this. Goes to show you there is crappy men AND women out there. Either way, people, there ARE good people put there. Don't lose hope.

The 4B movement is not a popular thing in Korea at all! Most young people cannot go a week without dating for fear of being labelled single. Marrying later and abstaining from having kids does not mean they’re not pursuing romance, quite the opposite in fact!

Okay, but I legit have met so many women who unintentionally do this, but its not because of men being misogynostic, its because the dating scene is god awful. There are so many men out there that do treat women poorly, on top of the ones that want casual s*x or are poly. I think a lot of women in the US are so tired of it, they are starting to hate men, or are expressing themselves poorly, but most of them have just quietly stopped dating. Honestly, I don't know what to do either besides be single and not bother, because the dating culture has gotten out of hand on so many levels.
