    Man I really appreciate what you are doing! I'm a graduate-to-be industrial design student from China and I just watch your video clips to know about how designers create things from the other side of the world and for example, I just bought an iPad Air for sketching and got really confused how you and Nick Baker and other designers render products using an iPad, thank god you made this video, the design world needs you! Keep this up plz!

    Hi. You asked a commenter how you could make the video better. The title is How to Use Sketchbook. You asked another commenter if the tutorial is still part of the user's first encounter with SB. The tutorial does not go into detail the way a youtube video is expected to. Your title should have been "How to Draw A...Whatever that was you drew" because it did not touch on the features I "didn't" know how to use. I am trying to incorporate the T (text) feature with my drawing. I have shapes and lines down. I have color. The tutorial and this video have me still searching when I really am running out of time. I'm glad it helped so many others though.

      i agree. I just downloaded Sketchbook tonight to take a look and this popped up as a tutorial. There was no explanation on how the tools (ruler etc) work, how to delete things, how to move things around etc. The author is clearly skilled but as a teaching video it fails for beginners.

    I was expecting more from this video, hopefully learning some new trick (as I have been using it for a long time) instead I see you directly drawing on top of another drawing, as a tutorial for using this program you left behind most of the tools, some of them would be helpful to your drawing (there is a perspective tool, right beside the import picture icon, that will help you draw the lines to the vanishing point as it even allows you to draw only the lines that go to those points, you have one, two and three vanishing points perspective types.
    You don’t show some basic things, things like:
    - the first thing you set is the canvas size, and you can’t resize it later.
    - the drawings are pixels, not vectors so be aware that when resizing up you will lose definition
    - how to save, share, and go back to a previous sketch
    - and at least a brief description of all the tools and their use.
    - also a brief description of all the things you can do with the layers, swap them, change their blending type, their transparency...
    Well, sorry if I’m being too demanding, but the title of the video announces something that you did not: show how to use the app, you don’t even show how you manage your layers.

Then I want to complete my art on pen version for overlapping the ruff sketch on my work. Then I didn't know what to do until I found this video. @Dill Pickle just Clíck on the upper layer and then select fuse, and it wil group it with the layer just below, of fuse all and it will fuse your current layer with all that are below. Once you have them fused you cannot separate them again, unless with the undo option, but it will also undo everything you did after the fusion. That’s the closest you can get to grouping layers

    Is there a way to change the size of a sketch? Sometimes when I’m drawing (usually a face) I find that some features are out of proportion, so I select said feature individually and mess around with the warp tool to change it’s size, but it’s very unreliable and doesn’t give me the results I want. I have yet to find a feature that lets me play around with that. Since you seem to be very accustomed to app, maybe you can let me in on the secret? If it does exist that is.

    • @FranCarreira
      @FranCarreira 3 роки тому

      You can select it with the selection tool (fist one on the upper bar after redo) there you can choose a selection mode, and once the selection is made, clic on “move” that is the next tool on the bar, once move is activated you can resize it, move it around and even distort it, once you are happy with the result, click ok on the upper bar and you are done. ;)

      You can’t resize the canvas once you choose one, the only way to fix it is, open a new canvas with the size you want an then import your previous art and scale it to the desired size, but note that, as graphics on this app are based on pixels, not in vectors, if you want to scale your art up much, it will lose resolution, as it will maintain the original one.

      I’m afraid that’s not in the iPad version. I haven’t used the desktop version in a LONG time... maybe it’s there?

      Oh no! Sketchbook Pro has a great troubleshooting page where you can search for specific issues. I hope that helps!

      @SamDoesDesign  6 років тому +2

      Yes! You can import images into Sketchbook and use them as layers for whatever you like. There's an "add photo" icon in the top menu

    Quick question my bro. Can you curve text in auto desk sketchbook. Thanks

    • @SamDoesDesign
      @SamDoesDesign  5 років тому

      You can edit the layer as normal, but I'm afraid there's no curve feature

      Sam_Does_Design same how do you survive with two great apps? I love how intuitive Sketchbook is and reminds me a bit like painting on Photoshop. I love Procreate too for its easy user interface
