I just did this repair on my 85 town car. I had to swap my 80's pigtail to a 90's one, and your explanation of the wiring was very helpful. I don't think I would have sorted out the trunk were it not for this video.

I recently (2023) scrapped seat bases from a 1990 Town Car, and each had 2 or 3 motors. I didn't realise they had value.

Well, the seat motors rarely go bad. The trunk motors go bad a lot.

I replacing pull down motor on the trunk of a 1997 Lincoln Town Car. When I plug the wires into the motor the motor started working until I put the trunk lid on it and it pulled it down and stopped what could be wrong or have you ever seen anything like that?
