- Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Including this 1997 Lincoln Town Car. Bought with intent to sell, but unfortunately it isn’t going to happen. I had to junk it! Sometimes they can’t be fixed! This was quite an expensive parts car though!

Transparency is one of your qualities Anthony,, just shows how you guys have integrity. Thanks for another great video
I like how you explain when you jumped off the car cuz I was wondering about that I do appreciate you explaining the parts you did a great job yes you might have lost some money but you're getting it back that's a good businessman this is Ed from Merced Atwater California just want to let you know you're doing a great job and I do appreciate you being honest and detailed
I would love to hear from Papa Bear thank you for telling me that you do read all the comments thank you hope to hear from you
Take note, total gentleman Anthony is by making sure he delivers the best he can!
Anthony and Papa Bear, you can't put a price on integrity. We all have to answer to God for our actions and to do the right thing is more valuable than you can possibly imagine. I enjoy watching both you guys as you sail through life. Paul I can see that sweetness and humility that come from the treasures of a wise and caring heart. What you are carrying down to your family, the values I mean, will be remembered for years to come and result in great blessings for all of you. God bless you all. I love seeing those wonderful car you take pride in suppling for others to enjoy their remaining value and quality.
Hello Richard thank you so much for statement it means a lot to me😊. Family does mean a very lot to me. Teach them the right way and it will return to them in wonderful ways. We love you pal!!! Papa 🐻 & Anthony
I love the fact that you dont try to pass the rusted out frame off to someone else. You are AWESOME!!!!
I would weld a new panel on that part of the rotted frame but sell it with that defect disclosed.
Anthony you are a class act. I would have paid you 2500 or so and had the frame patched later but you are right. It’s not worth having that on your conscious. What if I was driving with people or family and something happened. You and papa bear are an amazing team. You’ve inspired me tbh. I’ve been saving up and I hope to either buy a town car in the near future…either from you or elsewhere. I’d prefer from you since you are extremely trustworthy…clearly.
Morning Hassan thank you Anthony makes a great decision when it comes risking someone's life or making money and he did the right thing!!!! Papa 🐻 & Anthony
The fact that you didn't sell it speaks volumes to your character. Good job!
That is whe we have a dealer plate . Drive it on a daily basis . I would never part it out .
That is a beautiful Lincoln....what a shame!!!! All that rust!!!! Had to be from Pennsylvania?
Amen. I had a Ford that was 10x more frame rot than that Lincoln. I'm from IL... Drove it forever, until trans started failing. I would just drive it! Shoot, I would buy it
@@arthurbecker8081 possibly. I bought my Town Car from a Funeral Director in Pennsylvania, but it was always in a heated garage.
Anthony-thanks for your brut honesty. Your reputation as a used car dealer is of paramount importance. Cut your looses and after removing the parts you need, scrap the rest.
You did the right thing.
Sleep well my friend!
You are a good man, Anthony!! Too many people would have passed it on to someone who wouldn't even think to look for that type of damage.
The title of video caught my eye & had to see why. That is a beautiful Lincoln Town Car especially that Presidential style roof. Now back to the video.
Cut and section weld brother.. It's not that bad. Fix it and keep it for yourself. Drill out the bolt for the drivers side mirror. Those wheels could be resurfaced. Come on Tony! 😆
I think he’s too busy trying to find us more and more panther platform beauties! It will work out as a great parts car!!
I've seen worse rust on newer vehicles. I would have replaced the metal and kept it as a daily driver. Can always part it out later. Panther powertrain and interior parts should increase in value over time, due to it's popularity.
Great selection of Lincoln town cars
“Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving. “ - Albert Einstein
Anthony it’s real nice to hear honesty in a business where most are crooks. I respect that. Your taking it on the chin like a man rather than pushing it on someone else. Very commendable. Recoup what you can and don’t look back. Life is to short, Also this exactly why one day I’ll be one of your buyers. It’s great to see Papa Bear in the background. Keep smiling guys. Love tuning in to see you both.
Hi James thank you. I always say look up and keep smiling😊 its a good thing. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Anthony- Really like your channel. I'm in cold & dry Calgary Canada & bought a rust free Silver/Grey Velour 94 TC with 111000 miles back in October last year as a winter beater but it's too nice for that . It was driven 6000 miles in the last 10 years, always garaged & had $6000 in maintenance receipts. I have an 89 Bentley Turbo RL & 58 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud too. This Lincoln is the best $2500 car I've ever owned & can't believe how nice it rides. So comfortabIe, good fuel economy & EVERYTHING works.Haven't owned a Ford product since 1983 & am thoroughly impressed with the drive & reliability. Notice you only seem to deal in 95 & up & wondered why? Keep the imformative videos coming & say HI to Papa Bear for me.
Hi Terry back to you sounds like you have some very nice cars. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
What a crying shame such a sharp looking car. But plenty of good quailty parts on it. I'd keep all the doors, hood and truck lid, interior and glass
He dented up the trunk and was standing on the hood so they aren’t perfect anymore
Good point Paulie!
Where would you keep all those parts? How many months to sell those parts?
For what, couple hundred dollars? Send to the crusher and move on.
@@NeverTalkToCops1 Anthony and Papa Bear have built themselves a great garage with a designated area just for parts. There are plenty of good parts left that can be used eventually.
I never thought I would be watching a car dealer's vid series but I really enjoy these. The cars bring back a lot of memories as I graduated HS in 84 and these cars were the ones to have. You rarely see good ones anymore. Keep up the good work. If I could have any I would love to find an 88 or 89 Cartier Town Car with factory moonroof.
You and Papa Bear are top shelf people! Your integrity and honesty is priceless. That's why your're successful. ❤
Hello David thank you but I will tell you that honesty will always pay off in return. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
This is why we LOVE You and Papa Anthony. TOTAL Honesty and speaks volumes to both your characters. You are smart and great guys, we are lucky to have you if we are looking for one of your Beautiful Caddy's or Lincolns....or anything else you all have. BRAVO to you both. !!!!!
I would have kept the rear bumper, the engine & transmission, the rear end with the axels, also the seats, they looked like new on the film. Eventualy you will use all of the above. love all your movies, & would love to meet you & your father. it reminds me of me & my grandfather, we worked together for years.
Hi Anthony and Papa Bear, I’m from the Pittsburgh PA area. The problem with Pittsburgh cars, even ones that were “never driven in bad weather”, is first that it rains a lot in Pittsburgh. Vehicles are wet often, any areas where water would collect on the car may seldom if ever be dry. Second, even if the car “never saw snow”, if the car was driven on the first few nice days after a snow, the melting snow and run off from the sides of the road will be the equivalent of salt spray, as the roads are heavily salted during the winter. Considering that car spent a significant amount of time in the Pittsburgh area, it’s amazing that it wasn’t worse.
Hi Guy thank you for the info. We are in New England and winters are tough on cars this is when the nice ones stay in. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Shoutout to Papa Bear always working under them lifts ! Thanks for all the work and honesty! Rubbed off on Anthony for sure !!
Hello Sergio thank for that compliment. I' enjoy working on these older American beauties and keeping them alive. As for honest rubbing off on Anthony it's how we bring up our family honesty does pay off. Enjoy life Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Harvest what you need, and sell the rest. You are 100% on track!
We love watching your videos. You are one of the most honest person on YT that we watch. If I were looking to buy a good older Caddy or Lincoln, I would contact you ASAP. I trust you and this is just more proof that you are honest person. Thanks for another great video.
Hi PaPa Bear!!! Since you read all the comments, this part is for you!!!! We enjoy seeing you both on the videos and look forward to seeing real honest people talking about cars.
Have a Great Weekend, Anthony and PaPa Bear!!!!!
Hello there yes he's an honest guy who I very much enjoy working with. I enjoy the road trips with him and time we spend together making family important. You and your family have a great weekend. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
That aint even bad rust, I would just weld it and keep driving it when it looks so fresh from the inside and outside and only has 69000miles!
I agree! What a waste of a car, put $1000 in to weld it and you won’t get hurt $$
Being honest you’re gonna wind up having some nice rides come your way
Your crazy that's an easy fix! If the entire frame was like that then I could see you tossing the car. That was spot could be cut out and replaced to be better than new!
I agree, not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be
Send it to auction keep it on the road. It still runs
This video just goes to reinforce what has been obvious in all your previous videos....you are FUSSY about quality and know where to draw the line when it comes to what you can and cannot pass on to someone else. If we are honest, we can all recount times when we got bitten on some purchase and just had to make the best of it. I think you made the only possible decision, morally and perhaps financially, to part out the car and move on. Keep up the good work, Anthony and Papa Bear! Honestly, watching these videos is like visiting with old friends.
Hi Wayne thank you we do try to make the safest and best decisions. Sometimes things like this happens. You are a friend!!!! Papa Bear & Anthony
Love your channel Anthony! Tell Poppa Bear hello for us, please
Salvaging the parts is a no brainer, a lot of these parts are now irreplaceable. Pops is always in a happy mood! Take care boys!
Hello Randy thank you it's a great to be happy in life, laugh, love and enjoy family. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
You guys did the right thing! That is why you are so successful!- people appreciate your integrity. Shout out to your right hand man Pappa Bear! Great work!!
It’s a shame to see a low mileage car with frame rot. You will get your money out of it...unfortunately it’s going to take some time and effort. You are lucky to have your Papa Bears support and assistance. I’m surprised you did not keep the seats and carpet for use in another potentially cosmetically challenged Town car.
Hi Bubba thank you. I support anything my kids do as long as it's the right thing that they are doing. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
I know how you feel that rusty frame is common on the town cars I had to have mine fixed wasn't in the exact same spot but close by I was told that was caused by the air conditioner moisture leaking and settling on the frame My Town car only had 72,000 mi on it I love that car
It's too bad you have to scrap the car because of how rotted away it is underneath. On the surface, it still looks great. I'm glad you could get some good parts off it so it doesn't go completely to waste. And hi, Papa Bear, if you're reading this!
Hello Chris yes I am reading it I read all the comments when I have a little free time. Thank you Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Anthony - you did the right thing. There is only so much you can do to get the cars going again. Brakes, ball-joints, tires are one thing. What this car really needed is something else. You should not goof around with frame / rust issues. Was going to suggest keeping the wheels, but saw part where there was corrosion and such. Get what you can, and move on. Say hi to poppa bear!
Hello David thank you for watching the videos. Hope all is good with you. Papa Bear & Anthony
Papa Bear is working it on the brakes of that Town Car. He is the man. Much respect to you for all you do at Specialty Motor Cars. I love the road trips and the antics that you and your go through to find and retrieve the cars. Keep up the excellent work.
Absolutely 100% the right decision. Tony when Papa Bear agrees your doing right! I'm thinking strawberry ice-cream during my visit. I even have a chauffeur's hat Papa Bear can wear. 😁🐻
Hey pal that sounds great let us know when your coming by I will get the ice cream 🍓 for you pistachio for me and chocolate for Anthony. Papa Bear & Anthony
Man that car is sharp! My goodness, it's sad that you have to sell it as a parts car. But it says a lot about your integrity to disclose it's true condition, and that you won't sell it in good faith. I love Papa Bear!
Hello Kenneth we love you to PAL keep smiling it's always good. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
You have a most admirable sense of integrity and the world would be a much better place if everyone thought like you Anthony.
They can't all be winners, at least you can still benefit from the parts off it. It's great to see you're making the right choice and not putting a potentially dangerous car back on the road.
Look at Papa Bear working his #** off! I don't think the man ever stops! Good for you!
Hello David what a pat on the back that is😊 thank so much. You can sit down in life all the time because you will never get up again. Please remember that as you get older. Papa Bear & Anthony
@@paulgozzo9178 Hey Papa Bear! You are so right! I could have retired several years ago but I want to keep going...I'm afraid if I don't, I'll just start to rust out like some old jalopy!!! I've seen it happen. Like you, I need to keep it in Drive! Have a great weekend!
@@davidfrania8990 hey David your exactly right I retired 3and half years ago but stayed working 30hours a week then head up to my son's shop and help him out. The body has to keep in motion or like you said the parts start to rust up. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
I’ve said it one hundred times, Papa Bear is a HARD WORKER!! Keep it up Papa!
Why hello Ronaldo thank you so much 😊. I say you can't sit down all the time or you will never get up. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
@@paulgozzo9178 you are 100% right Papa Bear. Stay motivated my friend!
Hey Anthony and Papa bear! Great video! It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful car go to the great junkyard in the sky! I completely understand why however! I know firsthand the quality of vehicles that Anthony sells. Keep up the good work buddy!
Hi Jonathan your correct the junkyard in the sky. But two things to remember it's not safe car to put anyone in, also many salvageable parts will live on to help complete other needy cars in the future. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Hey Papa Bear love the videos❤️. I can’t believe how much Anthony and me are alike. I love the caddy Broghams and Lincoln town cars and keep them all original and with white wall tires to dress them up. I to sell cars and collect them. I am gonna have to show y’all some pictures of my low mileage caddy’s and other cars I have. Keep up the good work and be blessed. 😄
Hi Mike thank for the comment these cars are the last of the true American automobiles. Good like with yours. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
EASY ANTONIO!!! but is not bud idea to do it often at the park on the ground. dude!. I hope to call you soon! I can not way to feel a CEO classic!
Would've been a good demolition derby car. Bit pricey at 4 grand though lol.
That's the thing with newer cars(aka post 1980's), they got real good at rust-proofing the bodies to where they still look great. Hiding on the underside is a bunch of structural rust you can't see unless the car is up in the air, that's the part of the car that takes the real abuse. And it just isn't rusted out body on frame cars/trucks, I've seen unibody cars with holes in the floor, holes in the pinch welds/structural rockers, even holes in the front control arms!!!
One of your best most authentic vids. Keep it going.
You are a very honest dealer. Not too many out there. If I ever get a classic car, you will be the go to guy!
Papa Bear is doing a great brake job. Sorry about your rusty Lincoln, Anthony. Have a great day and weekend.
Hi Ron you know how it goes some people have to work. Anthony has his share to. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
You are an honorable guy and I admire that. I think you made the right move especially not selling it to someone who would also be unaware of the frame issue. Appreciate your openness.
Anthony You made the wright call Sometimes you just have to walk away Love the Videos and the Cars Cheers from Calgary
Poppa Bear, your the man, keep up the great work!!!😁
Hey, at least you're honest and that's what truly matters at the end of the day. Hopefully you'll recoup most of the funds invested, but you were able to strip it pretty much to bare bones. The next Lincoln will benefit from it as well as your current cars in stock. Thank you for being truthful and honest with your costumers! Shout out to Papa Bear!! I stripped a 64 Continental for parts when my Father had his. It's the little things like trim, and switches that will drive us crazy to buy. Then on the other end we sat on parts years after he sold the car. Best of luck gentleman!!!
Had a beautiful 93 town same thing my car was rotted way up in the rear suspension air bag area and could not be repaired. That is a shame that's a pretty car.
Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, I'm sorry that you ended up with a turd but you are certainly making lemonade.. I must say Anthony that you are a man of great integrity, doing the right thing by not unloading this rust bucket on some poor soul.
Thanks for the great videos my friends!! 👍👍😁
Your honest in selling a vehicle. Hello Papa Bear!!!
We appreciate your high standards most people will try to get away with it you’re honest God will bless you for that
All things considered you got out of it well, considering you were able to sell the driveline. I'm a little surprised you have mo legal claim on the selling dealer ad they should have known about that rust. All the best for continuing success and regards to you and Papa 🐻 from Christchurch NZ.
Hello John thank you for that last sentence we really appreciate that, all the best to you. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Damn shame danm rust looks good upside killed by rust interior is nice should be saved
We love Papa Bears diligence he is special guy
Thank you so much 😊 Jeff. We love you pal. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Anthony this video i really appreciate it helps answer a question I am dealing with. If I should repair a 1992 signature town car that I have emotional atatchment to.
Outside New England, folks don't understand that the challenge is real. Nowhere near this beaut, but I had an '05 Subaru Forester...similar story...a few dings topside and perfect running motor. 177K on the clock. BUT...it had spent it's life outside in Manchester and when we bought it, it became my son's car to run back n forth to UMass (Amherst) from Nashua. So...90 miles down Rt 3, 495 and the Pike...sit two weeks or maybe longer...then 90 miles back home. Frame totally rotted out in 2018. I'm now convinced...the Mass Pike (in winter...Nov-Mar) destroys cars faster than any other natural phenomena out there. Prove me wrong... 😫
That poor car! It's a shame when you go through something like this. But the reason for your success is your steadfast integrity and honesty. That's what keeps me hooked to your wonderful channel. You seem to keep Papa Bear always working. Tell him I say Hey!
JB WELD and your good to go!
Anthony, wow! What a shocker, to see such a beautiful car with so much rust underneath! I think you have made the best of a bad situation. Hey to Papa Bear! Always a pleasure to see both of you! Have a great weekend!
Hello Gerald how are doing? Hope you also have a great weekend to. It's going to be in the 90's all weekend.. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
@@paulgozzo9178 Papa Bear, I'm great, thanks for asking.
Bummer about the frame rot. Better luck on the next one. Hi Pappa Bear, always working hard.
Hi Kevin I know watching the videos with that statement. Thank you but I will admit Anthony & I do well working on these American classics. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
It is a shame that nothing could have been done to the frame to repair and fix it .what a beautiful car it was.
maintainence is money
work you said its what you call maintenence
Your a great guy, We must have been separated at birth, our car
taste is identical, Cadillac and Lincoln the same years as well, my first at 16 was a 1980 diesel D'Elegance Brougham, after dozens of cars up to my Rolls-Royce Spurs, that diesel was my favorite! Bless you guys! And Stay well Papa Bear! 🤗
New to the channel but have been following on IG. I absolutely LOVE the work you guys do. Some beautiful cars.
That’s a shame about the frame rust. Your honesty and integrity about not passing it off on someone else is commendable. At least you can make use of a lot of the parts in other cars.
Anthony i totally admire you integrity and its wise to just part the cars as your doing and its great that your honest and transparent in 20 20 hindsight it will save you many headaches and aggravation in the long haul shot out to your papa bear you have a great dad he has a great son like you 👍👍👍
I live 45 minutes away from Pittsburgh so that's not a Florida car lol. I remember when I was younger my neighbor was an older lady she had a 97 Lincoln Town Car it was red with a white top it was a beautiful car. You are doing the right move by parting it out
If you take the headliner down their are Bolts to take off it's there is a fibreglass shell on the car that comes off and that the Padded roof attaches to that shelf.
Hi Papa Bear, your very amusing as much as your son is. I enjoy the videos Anthony makes.
Thanks a lot for the video! A lot of knowledge.
I didn't realize until recently that Lincoln isn't building cars anymore as of the 2021 model year which I knew Ford Motor Company wasn't going but didn't think included Lincoln cars too. All SUV's which aren't affordable & the Continental as the MKZ sold especially the MKZ.
Yup, other than the Mustang, no more Ford or Lincoln cars, only SUVs. Likewise Buick and soon, Chevrolet. The Malibu is done this year or maybe next, the Camaro in 2026, sas I have read. There is a possibility that Ford will come out with a Fusion Sport Wagon based on the European Focus wagon to compete with the Subaru Outback.
You and papa bear 🐻 are great guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🦅.
Hello I'm sure a guy with a name Bear Claws is awesome too thank you. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Hi papabear! God Bless you guys!
Thank you so much Paul , God bless you and your family. Papa 🐻 & Anthony

Hi Anthony how are you. My skills are in mechanical work and family. Not in that order. Thank you for the compliment. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
@@paulgozzo9178 Yes Sir always a pleasure to see you!👍
It's stronger than you think - I'd drive without a worry for the right price....
I know a guy who could repair the frame, but no viable for a dealer to do it. Scrapping it for parts is probably the best decision!
It happens to the BEST OF US...SALUTE
I would do the same as you are doing. Good reputation takes years to earn and can be lost quickly. Repeat customers and recommendations are the best advertising.
I would have pulled the drive-train especially with it only having 69k
I am so sorry to hear this. You are doing the right thing. Learn from this and upgrade your pre+purchase inspection's.
Don't forget to drain the fuel before crushing.
15 gal of gas, that's roughly $45 right there!
There's a 97 like that sitting in my local you pull yard. I haven't looked at it to see what might have brought it there.
Syracuse, NY, so not crazy far.
You could fix that frame but the amount of labor involved would wipe out much of any profit on the car.
Cost of doing business, that's why I choose you for my next old car purchase, pride , genuine hard to find these days, you can thank your daddy for that
I would recommend that you get a Cateye USB rechargeable bicycle lamp to check out the underside of vehicles before you buy them.
In the UK ford cars had a reputation of being Dagenham dustbins many years ago.
Sorry for your loss my friend
Hey Papa Bear, always love y’all’s video’s
Hello Les how are you doing? Good to hear from you. Thank you for the compliment. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Ooo please you can have a plate welded in .. I’ve seen worse.. people take cars out of junk yards and restore them .. but thank you for being honest.. this car is to nice to part out
Like you said,it is what it is. Thanx for showing this video. Real life story.
I bet some body could patch that frame and get a few more years use with new brakes and tires I love them wheels have them on my 94 town car,
*Sorry to see this Lincoln Town Car can NOT be saved* !! *GREAT that it will be used for a 'parts car'* !! #AnthonyGozzo
Those panthers rust there on the passenger side up front from the ac condensation. My ‘96 had the same problem and had it welded up no problem. It ain’t worth junking it over a small area like that in my opinion.
Love Ya Anthony and Poppa Bear, so much wisdom for us)))
