2003 Lincoln Town Car Terminator review! The 2003 Lincoln Town Car looks like a regular Town Car -- but it's a LOT more special than that. This Town Car has a Ford Mustang Terminator Cobra engine swap, and it's truly amazing -- and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features. I'm also going to drive the "Terminator Town Car" and review what it's like behind the wheel.

I'm not a huge modded car guy, especially when it comes to panthers, but I appreciate where this guy was coming from with this swap. Anyone who puts 500HP in a luxury car AND says, "No, no, keep the wood grain," knows where their priorities are. If you try TOO hard to make a car into a dancing bear to point and laugh at, you make it less than what it was. By beefing up the horsepower and still respecting the machine's original purpose, you add to the personality without also taking some of it away. Really neat.

I mean, yes, the Town car and crown Vic are mostly the same car, built on the same Panther platform, however the Town Car is a much nicer car with even the base models much better equipped than top trim Crown Vics. Also, the air ride suspension makes a huge difference in the ride of the car. The Grand Marquis straddles the line, with top trim models being closer to the Lincoln and base models more like a Crown Vic.

Instead of going from 1st to 2nd gear it would be 1st then gv engages, 1 "and a half" then gv disengaged then goes into second gear, meaning technically you can have up to 8 ratios 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 etc. It can be engaged manually or automatically

The Mercury Marauder had a somewhat "enhanced" gauge package in the dash, if I recall. I wonder how difficult it would've been to swap that into place. Still wouldn't have gotten a boost gauge or some of the others out of the deal, but it would've been a cool touch that might have reduced the need to mount things on the A pillar or steering column. Regardless, fantastic job on it!

That's the Temple Performance Town Car. I was following the build years ago and remember when it was listed for sale 4 or 5 years ago. I was actually shopping for a Town Car around that time- I can't remember if I saw that it was for sale before or after I bought my 05, but I do remember it seemed like a really good deal at the time based on the mods and build quality. Of course it was out of my budget for a basic daily driver Town Car, but sometimes I still kick myself for not splurging a bit and trying to pick this one up when I had the chance- I'm sure it will sell for more this time around (and in my opinion, the car certainly deserves to bring a hefty price). That being said, my 05 is a Signature Limited model so I got the moonroof and heated seats, so I think I've got the better car (joking)
As far as the mostly stock suspension and handling, most people would likely be surprised at how well this generation of Town Cars handle- I certainly was when I bought mine. While it may be no European sports sedan, for a car its size, it takes turns pretty well (on stock size touring tires in my case). Of course I've only got around 240 hp at the crank, so I've only got to keep control of about half the horsepower this car has, so to whomever the new owner ends up being, your mileage may vary!

I did a 350 hp mustang 5.0 swapping from speed density to mass air. I had to modify the wiring harness because the intake and ac compressor are on opposite sides from the mustang. Thankfully the cobra intake manifold is symmetrical so it was a fairly easy swap. Had to change a few sensors, add maf, and move a few connections at the ecu to change injector connection because it was a different firing order. Also upgraded springs, shocks, aod transmission. Had true dual exhaust, h-pipe with two high flow cats and still passed emissions! Turned a 16+ second ¼ mile almost 3 ton car to mid 13sec. Cruised at 100+mph easily and burnouts were awesome. The best feature was the keyless entry pad on the door!
