Okay I understand it’s a wire that’s pink with yellow stripe for door lock relay.. Where is the relay that controls front passenger door lock switch because all my doors are locking and it’s supper annoying

@Mroberto7.077 I do not, but they are all the same, even on the Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria. Easy to find.

On keyless entry touch pad cars, the lock and unlock relays are in the keyless entry module to the right of the glove box. On non keyless entry cars, they are right below the glove box by the floor courtesy light.

It should be the same, yes. If everything was replaced but the cables aren't in sync, it won't work.

I would start by testing the motor itself.

You have to swap the door harnesses and the power window and lock harness that runs across the firewall, below the windshield, and behind the dash. Keyless entry trucks only have three wires at each doorlock switch, which ground the lock and unlock relays in the remote keyless entry module. Non keyless trucks have five wires at each doorlock switch and are positive reverse polarity and send power and ground to the lock actuators in the doors. There are no relays. I have every step by step video explaining it. It's much easier to add the way I explain it than changing it all.

I have the parts truck already gutted and I’m fully restoring the bronco so it’s gutted too so I figured if I was going to do it this would be the time. The harness you are saying that’s running across the fire wall under windshield and behind the dash. That’s the thick harness that came out with the dash correct ? I don’t want to mis understand you and it be another harness I didn’t notice

Yes, it is the power window and doorlock harness. With keyless entry, none one the doorlock wires run through it. Only threw window wires and likely power mirrors if equipped.

So just swap that harness and door harness and I should be good ? I just don’t want to put it all back together and it not work or run into other issues or something crazy

Problem with the switch?? I unhook the new actuator, while it is still connected, hold it in my hand, hit the switch, it only spins in one direction, the unlock direction. I hit the switch in opposite direction, nothing happens. Is there a relay somewhere that I can check it out??

If it's shifting fine, there's nothing wrong with it. And you should be very thankful. I don't know how it could have survived.

Well, at this point, I think you just need to think about how fortunate you are that it's closed and not stuck open. I've been telling everyone not to use them at all. I'm ashamed of Ford for using that junk.

Thank you, and welcome! Yes, all of those older Fords had a neutral safety switch that wasn't adjusted correctly, and you had to pull up on a lot on the gear shifts for them to connect and start. And I love the Diamond Jubilee Birds. There's a really low mile blue one out on the East Coast with a moonroof for sale now. He's asking $19k!

They have been red and blue for years. My 78 Grand Marquis is red, and my 79 Continental Collector Series is blue. Who knows.
